Dear Houston, I agree with you, Mahi Mahi is the best tasting fish. I have lived here on the beach in South Texas, and I will pick Mahi over any other fish. I will taste others, but Mahi beats the other. My second favorite is Amberjack, it's similar to Mahi, just not quite the same. Several weeks back, I saw Jimmy Houston was down here, and I heard he was eating Drum, I think. He should have been fed the best, Mahi Mahi.
You know, I'm 68 years old and have camped in some pretty remote places and you find some else's trash. I still don't understand why people feel they can just throw their trash down and leave it. It pissed me off 40 years ago and it pisses me off today. No respect for anything.
I agree with you 100%! I'm a grandfather and have always taught my Son's and my 3 grandsons, "If they pack it in, they best pack it back out!" Also, always carry trash bags in the event other's trash is found. It's these entitled neophytes leaving trash around everywhere.
I totally agree!! I grew up in the generation that was taught when you bring something in to the outdoors you take it back out with you! Who does these people think are going to come along behind them and clean it up?!?! Seriously would they go there if it was trashy looking in the first place?! Then why leave it that way? I’ll never understand some people! Just ignorant and entitled! 🥰❤️🙏🏻🇨🇦🍁
Amen! My husband and I love to fish. We get up at 445 AM, have coffee, travel to our favorite spot, and wait for the right time to fish. We fish until can no longer feel anything in our hands, and feet. Then we clean up our area, pack up our back packs, poles, and fish. Pull out green trash bags and clean up other peoples garbage on our walk back to the truck. Then dispose of the green garbage bags properly. I don't understand people. Our parents taught us to always leave a fishing spot, picnic site, or camping spot cleaner then it was when you arrived. If we were caught littering, or destroying property our parents would make sure we knew we were wrong with the belt, and then we would have to clean the entire park.
Your videography skills are really getting good Daniel... beautiful use of the sun and moving water... well done Amigo!! And all our best to Sara and the kids - RIP CMR - your memory will last for a long time... you've made an impact on thousands of viewers!!
I grew up on a farm. My Dad dug out and put in a large spring-fed rainbow trout pond. We grew up having rainbow trout for dinner at least once a week. This video brought back great memories.
Here over by NW ar. On the white river (spring fed) the state releases trout too. You can go up to the hatchery and look at the fish they have some are huge! Bait everyone uses here is either those trout things or whole kernel corn. They tear it up!
Hello to the Arm’s Family. Watching Daniel and Houston walk down to the trout river reminded me of The Andy Griffith Show. The sunrise is absolutely beautiful. That was a great cast Houston, hope you get a big one. Daniel, I was watching you retie your fishing line and was surprised that I remembered every step you did (pretty good for an old lady…lol). I am trying to use some great advice from a good person. As CMR would say “Do something today to make someone smile because you just might make their day.” You are right Trout is a good tasting fish. Enjoy your meal. I would like to wish Daniel, DeJay, Weston, Emmalee, and Houston a very Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year. Have a good week and May GOD Bless You and Your Family.
Incredible scenery! I've noticed that any content with Houston in it is gonna be pretty great content. This did not disappoint at all. Thanks for the video!
Awesome video!! Thanks for sharing you might not have had caught a lot of fish, but the time you and Houston had together, will be a Lifetime for you both😊Merry Christmas to you All🎄🎁
I hope Houston cherishes each of these moments . What I would have given to have had a dad that took me fishing and hunting and making great memories. You are a good role model for your son and family. I wish I could turn back the clock and been half the dad you are. Did my best, but there is no book. I'm wondering if your relationship with your father was as close as your relationship with your family, or if you just figured out the right way. Either way we can all learn from your example. And I'm no spring chicken at 59.
i clean trout a little differently. Cut the vee below the gills first then cut the midline as you do. that way you can pull the guts out with the gills. Then push the bloodline out. This leaves the head in place for the traditional trout presentation. I do love watching you spend quality time with Houston! You are raising him to be a fine young man!
When I trout fished in New Mexico in the creeks I used simple YELLOW kernel corn. Trout loved it. I used corn in the lakes also Cheapest way to go 1 can of kernel corn will last a long time. We caught over 100 total over time and had a big party Allowed 8 rainbows a day Deep fried em Loved the video
That's how my dad taught me to trout fish. Real in slow, & don't talk loud. They can hear you, & trout are smart. He trout fished streams & lakes here in AZ for 50 years. I ALWAYS caught my limit. May he rest in peace.
This makes me wanting to go fishing. Enjoy all your videos, but look your fishing ones. I agree with you, people just need to be polite and clean up their trash. Enjoy your trout. Love to all❤️
It doesn’t matter how many fish you caught, the time spent with Houston doing something you both love is all that matters. The memories will last forever.
No matter whether u catch or not, it's the joy of having the opportunity, location n togetherness with one of your loved ones. Always enjoy your videos but the fishing ones, wish I was there, really there. Thanks, u just created another memory for Houston to share with his young'ins. If not then, will say now Bless your family a very Merry, enjoyable Christmas.
Mom and Dad would take us fishing when we were kids. Daddy taught me how to clean the fish just like you did, so I was the official "trout gutter" for the family. Watching you gut that fish brought back some childhood memories.
Oh I used to love fishing. This was such a peaceful video reliving those days. Fishing up the bayou for red fish or out on the jetties for flounder and other stuff. So good. Thanks for sharing.
Mr Daniel, there is a hook remover for smaller fish. My Dad, always made sure our tackle boxes, or vests had the hook remover within reach. I looked it up, they have them at Walmart for 97cents. Red in color. They are the cats meows, for removing swolled hooks. No joke 97 cents vs cutting your leader, new hook..etc, well worth the 97 cents. Just a suggestion, I'm not judging anyone. Oh boy you can't catch fish if your hooks aren't in the water.
Houston is growing so quickly, in no time he will be as tall as you! Times he is so mature I forget he just turned into a teenager! I love your fishing vids I've learned so much from you! God Bless you and your family!
Watching you go fishin with your son puts a smile on my face. He is such a cute kid! Shhh don't tell him I said that! LOL! If ya do just tell him im a 62 year old lady and a grandma. Im alud to say that! 😂 I went in fishin with my Dad and loved every minute of it. I miss those days. God bless.😊❤
Thanks, Daniel, for cleaning up. I use to take my kiddos camping. Your adventures with Huston brings back great memories. 👍 Gotta ❤️ love that sizzle. Merry Christmas to your lovely family. 🎶💐💖
Daniel I live in Oregon and that is what we all fish for. In the rivers and lakes. When we fish in the rivers we use a sliding weight with a swivel and use about a size 6 to 10 barbed hook with about a 10 inch leader and use nightcrawlers for bait and we do very well. Or use like a brown rooster tail. The way you were fishing with the egg hook and floating bait is good for the lakes. Also trebble hooks are better for floating bait. Just thought it might help you guys out a little. There is so many varieties Of trout here and in the central part of Oregon is where we fish for german browns and they are the best eating trout by far. But just change your hook and use worms and try that. You and your family should come here on a trip. I love Oregon for the fishing and hunting here but I don't care for the politics here. Lol if you know what I mean. Good luck
My parents and friends of theirs used to go to the Smoke Holes in WV. The river was stocked with rainbow trout. They are bony fish but the meat is worth the fry. God’s blessings.
Growing up in NM, my parents took us kids trout fishing all the time. I was the only one of the kids who liked to eat the trout so I always had enough. My parents recently passed away and this video brought back some great memories. I still love trout and I believe I’m still the only one of my sibs who eat it regularly. lol.
Some of these laws suck in Colorado it's four fish per person not to mention free fishing weekend first full weekend of June to catch that same limit poeer bait is great rainbow trout bait
I used to love going camping with my husband and doing some trout fishing. We would wrap them in foil with butter, fresh chopped garlic and just salt and pepper and put it next to the campfire. OMGosh, there is nothing better! I just wish I could still do it, being disabled in a wheelchair sucks! I enjoyed watching your video, thank you Daniel! Merry Christmas to you and your family. Happy Birthday Jesus! 🎄🤗🙌
That Creek looks Awesome and so Peaceful. When You all return there to get Your Lines Wet....and searching for Trout...use a can of Sweet Corn...3 kernel on the hook.... Here in Southern PA... Our Trout bite on that just as well as Powerbait or Salmon Eggs .... It's a Joy to Me watching You taking Your Children Hunting and Fishing... Passing on Tradition is the Father's Job... God Bless You All... Merry Christmas....
Daniel, when I used to go fishing with my dad, I would hold my line with my index finger and could feel the bite immediately. It worked more times than you think. ❤❤❤
You two are so much fun to watch together, you have so much fun. Making so many memories. And Daniel you are so good at telling us about your sponsors, makes me want to go and buy them. Anyway love watching your videos. Merry Christmas to you and your family
My husband and son love to trout fish. I hope they have an chance to take my grandsons some day. We went one spring break to Cumberland River in Kentucky and fished the whole week. It was such a memorable time!
I didn't get to come back this year so missed the day trip to Bennett Springs to watch the fishing. This makes up for it in way thank you Daniel.Have a good one and may your days be blessed
I enjoy fishing, but I love catching. 😂 My aunt, uncle and I would fish in Utah a couple times of year. The little creek was always packed. No matter the time of day we would limit out usually in an hour or so. The key was maggots. We would by them have shipped to us. They are clean and colored. We would see dads trying to keep little one's having a bit of so they get to experience it and teach the sport side that you don't alway catch but the family is so important. Thanks for the content.
Watching January 8.. I absolutely love fresh caught rainbow and brook trout..here in Canada 🇨🇦. Spent many hours catching both..and eating…fly fishing works for both.
You brought back memories of my husband. He loved to trout fish!! I am happy you got enough for a little feed! I love any time I get to spend with you Daniel and Houston. Thanks for today and Merry Christmas to the Arms Family🌲🌲🤗🤗💕💕💙💙
You’ve got a Beautiful River for trout fishing! Here in Ohio the 3 popular color rooster tale spinners are orange, chartreuse, and fire tiger! I look forward to seeing your videos when you start fly fishing! The key to fly fishing is tempo in your cast! On your back cast stop at 2 o’clock and on your foreword cast stop at 10 o’clock! There’s lots of TH-cam how to videos! Hope you and your Family have a Merry Christmas! God Bless from Caldwell Ohio!
Love your videos and enjoy watching them every time. May the lord bless and protect you and your family and the animals. Merry Christmas and Happy New Year and have good luck fishing
I'm from Colorado and they love those "fire balls"! We call them. I sure miss fishing, especially in Colorado. I moved back to southern Texas, its called The Lower To Grande Valley, hope it works out for me. Hope you get your limit 😊 you will love the way you good them fish. Yummi!!
My grandma pan fried a lot of fish in her cast iron skillet on the stove. She also smoked fish and canned it. I went fishing with them a lot when I was young.
I love when you and Houston hang out together. I’m personally excited to see some fly fishing! I just got into it this past year and it’s been a blast in the creeks and actually even in the lake! I love crappie and rock bass fishing with it but I just got a bigger fly rod and reel for Christmas and I’m targeting bigger largemouth and smallmouth with it. Lost my first hook up on Monday! It was maybe a 15” fish. Felt awesome!
Merry Christmas guys and I hope you take a few days off and have a great meal and just rest and relax and enjoy the time with family and friends and we will see you later
I taught my family to pack out everything we packed in, plus as much trash as we found that we could carry out with us. If we all leave it better than we found it really will improve.
Great video Daniel! As a kid, I loved going fishing with my dad. It was the best. I took my daughters fishing once for salmon. It was a long 8 hours of 4 bites. We caught 4 fish, but they didn’t understand that it’s called fishing, not catching. Lol Merry Christmas to you and yours! Thanks for sharing!!! And keep smiling!
Great video. Glad to got catch a few fish. Life does happen and you just go with it. May not be cooking over a creekside fire but still looked delicious. When I grew up it was called Dolphin (or dolphinfish) but call it Mahi Mahi and you get charged more. I love a dad’s wisdom… it’s 32 degrees, you don’t need to be jumping across wet rocks. Thanks for sharing and happy holidays! Merry Christmas.
When my daughter was young her dad played a Xmas prank on her and put a trout in her bed and told her Santa had put it there 😂😂😂 as you can all imagine it didn’t go down well and as she got older the pranks got very bad that I had to put a stop to them, my dad caught the fish in the river near our home in England uk xx love to all from my home to yours merry Xmas all xx
Good cold morning but wonderful time to be fishing. Fished for rainbow an caught quite a few on the Eleven point river good eating if they had been there for awhile not just put in.Used corn they loved it. Merry Christmas to you all.
I am glad you love Everglades Seasoning. I have used it for about 30 years. I buy their 8-pound jugs since it's a lot cheaper in bulk and just refill the shaker.

Who else loves the trout videos because they’re my favorite!
👇
Hello Daniel & Houston…love seeing Houston in his favorite place.
Such a beautiful picture!❤ enjoy your fishing videos with Houston.

My husband and son love to trout fish. I hope they have an chance to take my grandsons some day. We went one spring break to Cumberland River in Kentucky and fished the whole week. It was such a memorable time!
You can still cook them in a foil packet and put them in the oven. Still as delicious as putting them in a camp fire.
I love Houston's version of Ron's saying and think Ron would as well! After all, it's so true! Good job Houston! God bless from Texas 🙏 ❤
We would see
dads trying to keep little one's having a bit of so they get to experience it and teach the sport side that you don't alway catch but the family is so important. Thanks for the content.
Watching January 8.. I absolutely love fresh caught rainbow and brook trout..here in Canada 🇨🇦. Spent many hours catching both..and eating…fly fishing works for both.
WISHING YOU AND YOUR FAMILY A MERRY CHRISTMAS AND A HAPPY NEW YEAR

You’ve got a Beautiful River for trout fishing! Here in Ohio the 3 popular color rooster tale spinners are orange, chartreuse, and fire tiger! I look forward to seeing your videos when you start fly fishing! The key to fly fishing is tempo in your cast! On your back cast stop at 2 o’clock and on your foreword cast stop at 10 o’clock! There’s lots of TH-cam how to videos! Hope you and your Family have a Merry Christmas! God Bless from Caldwell Ohio!
Still a good day together. Thanks guys. Chris from England
Trout fishing is all I did growing up in Yosemite, and all native fish.
A bad day of fishing is still better than a good day at work
Love your videos and enjoy watching them every time. May the lord bless and protect you and your family and the animals. Merry Christmas and Happy New Year and have good luck fishing
Merry Christmas and God Bless. I love yall 💕💕💕

The smaller stock trout don't taste so great cause of the pellets they feed them. They can grow out of it. I prefer the taste of wild trout.
I’m a big trout guy and I am glad you guys injoy it like I do.
I love when you and Houston hang out together. I’m personally excited to see some fly fishing! I just got into it this past year and it’s been a blast in the creeks and actually even in the lake! The sun coming through the trees was beautiful.
Have a good one guy's! Take care and God Bless!!!❤😊
Haven't seen you two fishing in along time.
Pretty place to fish. Glad you got to have some fresh caught trout.
Nice video, and thanks for showing how you do the fishingknot. Allways nice to learn different ways to attach a hook. 😀❤️⭐🐐👍
We got our CM Ron’s shirts today I hope it helped them out in some way. Have a Very Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year. 💕

Hello Daniel and family MERRY CHRISTMAS
Great video. Glad to got catch a few fish. Life does happen and you just go with it. May not be cooking over a creekside fire but still looked delicious. When I grew up it was called Dolphin (or dolphinfish) but call it Mahi Mahi and you get charged more. I love a dad’s wisdom… it’s 32 degrees, you don’t need to be jumping across wet rocks. Thanks for sharing and happy holidays! Merry Christmas.
The only thing I have ever used for rainbows is worms!!! Merry Christmas!!! God Bless Us All!!!
I'm glad you introduce to Good Chop I'm loving what I order

I used to use Velveeta cheese with a couple of split shot and a nickle to quarter size bobber 3 to 4 foot below the bobber to catch stocked trout.
Awesome to see Houston on here. Miss that kid. How’s Jacobi doing? Missing him too.
Rainbow trout is my fav!!!!
I LOVE TROUT FISHING!!! I love any fishing .. but here in Alabama there isn't much trout fishing!!
I loved the Mayberry walk-in to the river!
Love the catch clean and cook videos!
My husband was an avid fly fisherman and we pan fried them with the heads on. Some of the best meat.
Loved this video. When y'all were walking down the road with y'all's fishing poles, I could almost hear the theme to the Andy Griffeth Show. LOL
Awesome the way you an Huston hang out together.
