  • Arturia sent me a Minibrute 2 to play with so in this video I'm going to play some sounds, give you a quick tour and share my initial thoughts about it. This is an analog monophonic synthesizer with two oscillators, two LFOs, two envelope generators, a multimode Steiner-Parker filter and a patch panel.

Once again I am convinced that the instruments from Arturia are original, with a very good sound and ease of operation, the day is not far off when their price tag will be like "vintage synthesizers" are today🖤🎹

That Steiner-Parker filter definitely gives this device it's own character, mod matrix is definitely my favourite bit of the instrument, so many possibilities. Build quality looks solid as usual Arturia, looks like a good upgrade on an already capable device!

First time on your channel, been in the synth community of TH-cam for a decade, but just found you. Great review with the architecture explained well at the beginning. I like that you talk to us as experienced synth users, using comparisons of features to other synths on the current market. Great demo on a great synth. The Brute's always sounded great even a single oscillator synths, but that second oscillator is big help. I am a little disappointed the ADSR for the amp that was on the MiniBrute(1) is not on this one. I plan on using this synth as my first venture into semi-modular by using it with a Behringer Neutron and a Korg MS20. I will then have three synths that can be patched together and spread across a stereo field in the mixer.

Nice review as always. this confirms what i knew already, that i'm gonna swicth the MB2S for the MB2. It was nice trying the 2S and its mad sequencer but the arp and sequencer on the 2S have some serious gate setting problems and no triplets, which just sucks for my own use

Oh my god... I saw your stegosaurus unplugged clip on instagram suggested vids like six months ago and watched it a hundred times, forgot about it, then wanted to see it again but had no idea what the channel was called or how to find it. I basically had to give up and just thought I’d never see it again. Now here I am searching for the minibrute 2 (I just bought one online like 2hours ago), like “that guy looks familiar” and was finally able to watch that vid again after all this time. Fin.

Showcasing the Osc...and cranking up the Level in the osc mixer section fully leads to a slight distored sound as well. Keep the Osc mix levels around or under 55% results in much softer tones.
