I started tearing up when you played that clip of gabby winning AA. I remember being 12 years old and remembering that moment so clearly… what a special moment for us all … gabby really changed the world that day
Can you imagine an US team with Biles, Douglas, Jones, Chiles, Lincoln? That would be epic and history making 😊. I hope Gabby gets there. She’s only little over a year older then Simone and still has the capability.
If Gabby is in a great shape, I’m sure she’ll be on the team. Chiles will need a lot more than Gabby to make the team, honestly. And hopefully Kaliya will be an alternate.
I would love to see Suni on a team with Biles, Douglas, Chiles and Trinity. Those are still all minorities and Suni should be included as such as beautiful dancer and a huge contributer on bars and beam. Trinity is also an elegant gymnast.
From what I remember hearing about Gabby when she went to National camp, she was practicing front layout fulls and she was working on her full in's so I agree that her doing an opening pass similar to rebecca is very well possible and something I would love to see
She’s gonna kill it next year!!! Btw, she most likely will be doing a switch leap mount + switch half combo on beam (might even add a back tuck as well 👀 same as Simone) Manifesting these potential D scores for her: 5.0 VT 6.4/6.5 UB 6.2/6.3 BB 5.8/5.9 FX I’m dying to see her compete again 😩😭❤️
im really looking foward to her floor upgrades maybe we will finally see an H skill (maybe a double double) and or a double layout. Also i really love the music you put in would be nice if she actually competes it (n yes u did eat dis editing up)
I’m living for the commentary at the end. Nice video with realistic routines. I’m so hopeful for her comeback. My favorite thing about Gabby is that by and large, she has always had beautiful execution, especially on bars and beam. Completely agree with you on floor that she has never peaked on that event. In 2012, I loved her 1.5 walkout to triple and was sad she didn’t have it in 2015/16. It felt like her coaching team didn’t know what to give her for her Rio comeback on floor and it really showed. I’d love her to have a three pass routine with two combination passes and some twisting elements, as she always had nice twisting form. I think turns are risky but her best bet to also build D-score. Gogeans are scored very harshly in this code but there’s really no D leaps that don’t have a lot of execution deductions, so I wonder if that’s worth it or not.
(1) Great UB routine construction without the in-bars. I feel like she should do the Stalder 1/1 before the Chow 1/2 instead of before the Downie and it still goes to 6.5! She has proven she can do a pirouette before the Chow 1/2 in Rio. Agreed with the inbar comment at the end - her having inbars changes everything (2) FYI She posted an Instagram story of her practicing the switch leap mount on beam, connected to a switch 1/2 it seems like. You mentioned that already at the end... (3) On floor, there's rumors of her training the Front 1/1 (C) + Full in (E) pass so that's a 0.2 CV tumbling pass! And she can remove on of her dance elements. And I think she should stick to the switch 1/2 because I don't see her getting any execution errors on that element. I agree she can try for a double double.
I think Gabby prefers harder dance to harder tumbling. It's always seemed like she could do harder tumbling (she's high enough!), but that she prefers the dance and with her great form and flexibility. It's really hard for most gymnasts to get max difficultly on dance. I expect we won't see a double double, but we will see some awesome combos/dance.
@@robertferguson2091 we'll see what happens! Hoping for a Top 5 finish for her, if not top 3. I really want to see an amazing floor routine from her. I think the best takeaway for me is; Gabby is performing 3 entirely different uneven bars routines at 3 Olympics, if she does make the Paris team, which is pretty iconic.
That beam composition leaves a lot to be desired. She does have a lot of skills to pick from so it will be interesting to see what she keeps from previous quads and what she tailors for the 2022-2024 code
Yet she doesn’t have much to loose when it comes to connection bonus. If she bombs the connections she goes down to 5.8. Missing her switch half to back tuck & the front Ariel combo. So that would work well for her. She also should easily get into the low to mid 14’s with that. She probably would’ve made the BB podium with that:
Gabby had good difficulty across the board in 2012-2016 she just needs to upgrade her floor in 2012 it was ef worthy and i def agree she never gave her potential on floor and 2024 would be amazing
@@TheTimo5494he did completely fix and rework her bars (thank God she got rid of the full twisting double tuck, her dlo is stunning) and got her a beautiful amanar tho.
I agree. Not that I think she needs to go nuts, but we have to have a good 3rd routine in case anyone is injured. If she can really throw some more upgrades on bars that will make things interesting. That’s where we NEED three great bar workers and of course we could use another on beam.
Valeri can be trusted to increase those D-scores with combinations and skills that are easy for Gabby...she'll have to upgrade her tumbling that's for sure.
I wish Chow would have stuck with Gabby. She's such a talent, it would have benefited them both for him to stick with her. She said years ago that he "asked me to do things that I could not do". I don't know what those things were, but I wish he would have changed his mind. Either way, she couldn't have been more successful and is our only American gymnast to win AA gold and 2 team golds in separate Olympics. People really criticized her for making the team in 2016, but you don't leave your history making gymnast at home when they can contribute in any respect to Olympic history for our country and an Olympic team gold medal. Rooting for her for 2024!
I agree mostly yet to be fair chow oversight of Chinese gymnastics has been trash and all his gymnasts post gabby have flopped. Yet everything else I totally agree with
You might have noted the date and the name of the competition for each of these video cuts, so viewers with little to no knowledge of gymnastics (like myself) could better evaluate the chances of this talented gymnast making the next Olympic team. I only watch Simone Biles, as the rest bore me, BUT, according to these clips, GABBY DOUGLAS, at her BEST (as seen here), can give Simone a real challenge. I'd LOVE to see both competing together on the same team. Gabby Douglas would need a SUPERHUMAN amount of dedication and strength to master a comeback at this point in her life. [I would have watched her also if I had any interest in gymnastics when she competed.]
This is a really good program! I like that you mentioned (based on her training videos), she seems to be training a Switch Leap Mount (D) + Switch Half (D) [+another skill maybe?] for BB! I LOVE *how* she does it, but tbh I don't love the idea of us potentially having 3 athletes on the same team doing the exact same BB mount/series. 😂 (Simone & Shi already do it, too. Heck, so does Rebeca Andrade). All of them look good doing it, but I do think it could make a boring Team Final for 3 BB routines to be so similar.
DOUGLAS=USAGOLD (scrambled), Dude I'm so glad Gabby led me to your channel! I was so impressed with your content, creativity and editing, you're simply awesome!!! Plus the USA gymnastics "Black" community need our own podcast and coverages. I've Already, Liked, commenting, and subscribed!!!😂💜👑
Double Layouts aren’t worth much and a hub for deductions. Piking, Bent Knees, flexed feet, leg separation, low landing, legs apart on landing, hop and etc.
I also used Rebeca because I’m creating a routine for her. She never did a straddle jump people do it all the time when making routines for gymnasts lol
Are those connections of an acrobatics skill plus a leap still a thing? I remember those were very popular in the past, but none of the FX finalists at Worlds 2023 had any of those connections in their routines…
we forget how epic gabby really was. all the right qualities and sooooo excited for her

She actually did use this music at jesolo trophy 2015
I hope she makes the Olympic team. If she can get her Amanar back, or even a decent Cheng, she would be a lock for the team!
Exactly!❤
She’d easily make it with that program yet she could knock Shilese off with this program. I saw a 14.3 VT a 15.0 bar 14.4 beam, and 13.9 FX.
