I agree with you on the way Hermes treats their clients in the US. Shopping should be fun not stressful. I can not believe the videos I have seen how people have been treated over wanting to buy a handbag. I will not play that game of buying something I do not want just to be able to purchase the bag that I do want. Sadly Chanel is starting to have that same attitude. I used to be able to order my classic flaps from NYC, now I'm told they can not ship them. Very upsetting.
True true true and true! I just learned that only a VVIC can have their classic flap shipped. And you have to “earn that“ through ready to wear primarily and occasionally jewelry. I’ve been able to keep that status through ready to wear but it’s unbelievable. They are definitely going that direction and it’s quite sad. I understand a brand trying to retain their exclusivity but this gets absurd. I agree with you it should be fun. Admittedly right after surgery today I was looking at FASHIONPHILE because I don’t want to play the game. They have big discounts right now 😉

Hi! Unfortunately the online purchase history doesnt transpire into anything at all :((( They dont even keep track .. so if you go into a store with an online purchase history it counts 0.00. It sucks! Just FYI in case they didnt tell you that! Im SO happy you got your Birkin though that is awesome! It is a game for sure. So if you go to your local store they can see that you got a quota bag in Europe. Whether or not they hold it against you is another question and probably up to each individual sales associate. But as of February I believe, yes they can see the quote bag purchases!!

Playing game is encouraged by French …. If France wasn’t number 1 destination for tourists-they will play the game as hard as in USA or any other country…. The other thing I was told by Hermes salesman when I was in Paris in June is that before the lockdown 80% of stock was in France and only 20 would go overseas - now they only have 40% and they spread the rest of stock between America and Asia…. French brands in France have better service and in particular better Aftersale service…. And what I noticed in France they treat their local customers with much more respect than outsiders (tourists)…. Also sales people have also more rights generally speaking under the French employment compare to USA or Australia for example….so they are not pushed so hard to deliver the budget etc…

I think any Company who "offers" you this or that is crazy. You have to practically beg them to spend money, then they "offer" you things you are not asking for and you feel compelled to buy them. If you're in the store and that person that spends $250k is in the store, you bet all of a sudden they will have plenty of bags to "offer" them. The fact that you have to spend x amount to get a "quota" bag is unbelievable.
There’s definitely a game involved in all of it, and it’s not one that many of us like to play. If you like the bags, the alternative is to buy from resellers, which I know a lot of people do for exactly the reason that you’re saying!

Im the one opening money here! lol EU and Asia are better places to shop honestly luxury honestly, of course EU would be the best prices, but in terms of CUSTOMER SERVICE. ASIA and EU are top notch!
