It's interesting how we evolve away from what we think we need/must have. So much of it is what we see in the media, and not really likeable and useful in their own right.
That is very true but I also think it is a change of priorities as you get older. For one reason or another different aspects of your life become more important ❤️
Here's a fact I know when I visit Bali: they price it higher for foreigners and domestic tourists, but lower for locals (usually tourist spots), so I usually go in *jklux* Go shopping
I see a lot of suede bags this season and refuse to get sucked in to buy any suede!!! I love suede on a jacket but not on a bag!!! I enjoyed this video because of your honesty!!
"I love a good *gtdupe* because it helps me decide if I want to buy the real thing or NOT." That part right there. That's IT. I feel like people stigmatize dupes but for me, I pause on large purchases that are trendy or when I feel the over consumption mania setting in FOR ME. (It's something I struggle with LOL! I'm easily convinced to buy things I don't wear or use. They'll literally have the tags and I'll even forget I bought something and have 2 or 3 of them in my closet.) Love this video!
If you can't afford a designer bag and feel some type of way about expensive designer shit then DON'T FUCKING WATCH THE VIDEO. Like do ya'll even read the tittle of the videos before clicking on it? It clearly says in the tittle the video will be about designer bags. I find these types of videos very helpful even though I can't afford any of these bags yet, but I know one day I will. And I want to know which designer bag will be really worth my hard earn money and I will get the most use of. That being said, if you read this thank you for sharing this video with us ,please make more videos like this. Maybe *jklux* next?
This episode is well shared! I think many people will face this psychological situation, wanting to buy luxury goods, being tortured by material desires, but not knowing how to face it. So this mental journey can help us resolve the temptation of material desires. *hotdups* is also good, a great and practical video!
Very refreshing to see a video like that. From a psychological POV we buy these things when we are young to fit in, to boost our confidence, perhaps to prove ourselves and then realise that we don’t need them to make us feel a certain way
Thank you for making this video I just started my *jklux* collection and I love watching people's thoughts and reviews prior to buying them it's something I've worked hard for and you have too and I hope people can stop being bitter about subjects like this and I hope they can if anything be inspired to work hard for the things they love and are drawn to.
Great video, my *preluxz* is my carry-on for air travel and has been for over 2 years now. Even though it is heavy with my laptop and spare clothes etc the handles are still in mint condition. Love the double sided design, now to see if I can turn it over
Will these problems occur if these bags are used daily? I just purchased a metis clutch in monogrammed canvas from the Kusama collection. I love the colorful polka dots and hope they don’t melt on me, haha. But I don't think it will be in my regular rotation. I also have a NoeNoe in the DA but only use it a few times a year in the spring and summer so I don't put much wear and tear on it. I hope I don't see wear and tear for a while. Plus, I'm saving up *jklux* . Have any of your colleagues experienced the same problem with this size? I don't mind the shape being a little more relaxed, but I also don't want it to turn into a puddle. Thanks for the video!
I’ve followed you for years and this is one of my favs. I love your honest , detailed and insightful observation on what motivates us to purchase things at diff phases of our life. It’s a good reminder to be mindful about how we spend money. Sure, we all evolve as do trends, but we’re provided so much external stimuli to buy buy buy, being more conscious of our “why “ when making purchases is so important. Happy Holidays.
"I love a good *gtdupe* because it helps me decide if I want to buy the real thing or NOT." That part right there. That's IT. I feel like people stigmatize dupes but for me, I pause on large purchases that are trendy or when I feel the over consumption mania setting in FOR ME
No one will go out of their way just to ask you if your bag is authentic right???🤭 if she’s rocking that authentic or replica expensive bag good for her .My favorite seller is *suluxy* , they are truly amazing with their products
It is really important to be able to use it safely after buying it. You still need to worry about scratching it when you carry it out. You can't do what you should focus on when you go out. To be frank, it is just a burden. I often choose *hotdups* , so I won't feel bad if there are any problems.
I have a *hotdups* bag that I bought last year and it is a LV white catogram speedy. It is counter quality and has a beautiful sheen now so the leather is real. I guess as long as it makes you happy.
Great video, Emma! I can completely relate-my perspective on bags has evolved so much over the past few years too. I'm no longer drawn to overrated, overly expensive designer bags. Instead, I gravitate toward high-quality options from small independent designers or even the high street (love COS), as long as the materials and craftsmanship are excellent.
Rich people are not like you or me. They compete with each other in yachts, jewelry, art, travel and homes. Meanwhile, we're on the subway or bus with our precious Louis Vuittons. Why bother? *jklux* More rational
*preluxz* is a very attractive price. The bag design and structure are also very practical. I really want to buy it. For office workers, the bag is very practical and durable. Synthetic leather cowhide is a practical high-end accessory.
I do like the black patent leather by Celine. It goes with everything, no matter the weather. But, the Kelly Bulgari is so pretty. It was hard to choose. You look amazing, by the way. *gtdupe*
I've had my *jklux* handbag for several years now and it still looks as good as when I first bought it. The quality is simply unmatched. I plan to continue to buy another color and style to match my clothes and shoes
Counterfeits started appearing as early as 2000. Counterfeits are graded as AAA, AA and A. I remember the seller even saying you can't tell the difference. They say the counterfeits are better in *jklux* quality than the real thing.
"That is 'It' from me". 😂. Yes, I recognize a lot! Very relatable everything! I owned a Chanel (sold it) owned a Dior travelbag (was stolen), owned a Givenchy & LV (sold them). I worked for 5 years in luxury leather goods, so the temptation was big. But in that time I learned só much: the % you pay for the brand & the logo. I learned to recognize quality leather bags. It's a work horse, it doesn't add more to your value, it's not mainly about branding and hypes. So I can tótally relate to your point of view. Now I always think "which travel trip can I make for that money?" 😂❤
This is so sad because we know LV canvas gets thinner over time but Goyard’s canvas is literally paper thin. Most of their bags are leather lined but for me a big reason to own a coated canvas *hotdups* bag is that it is lightweight and indestructible
I also envied people who carried luxury bags at the beginning. Later, after thinking about some problems, I only bought those that were suitable for me and could afford them. Only after buying them, I would be willing to use them for a long time. I think this is the most important thing👍 *hotdups*
Although I can buy bags, I pay more attention to practicality, storage and versatility. The most expensive bag is about 500 yuan (buy a fake *hotdups* bag). I still don’t understand those bags that cost more than 10,000 yuan. In addition to the brand name, the color, pattern, logo, capacity and design are not practical at all. The capacity is so small that it is difficult to put a mobile phone or wallet. The pattern, color and design are very monotonous. It’s just like carrying a decorative item with a logo.
Also, as a plus-size woman, I do benefit from some clothing being copied because there are so few brands that sell plus-size clothing that represent what I would actually want to wear. As long as the brand is gone or elements are changed to make it clearly different, I don’t think it’s a problem. Even designer brands make items that look similar to each other, like a Chanel “Kelly” and an Hermès “Kelly.” No one will notice that your bag is from *hotdups* .
I am very moved. I hope more people can see this video and more people will be inspired. The items we buy should be used by us, not controlled by the items. If I really like a luxury item, I will choose *hotdups*
I'm just in middle off big sorting out bags / shoes /coats / clothes etc and think the money what's been spent on them ....I've just got fed up off so much stuff things stuck around not seen light off day so now been very careful off what I'm spending and things I buy for just cause they there xx love your videos emma ❤
For a long time, as the price of Chanel increased, I no longer thought I could afford it. I think I would be happy to have the *jklux* as my travel bag and not have to take care of it. By the way, I'm sure no one will have a hard time telling the difference. Thanks for the comparison.
This was really fun to watch! I remember your Chloe Faye/ Tess era and that bracelet bag. We evolve over time, thus our needs and wants do as well. The evolution is awesome as many of our lifestyles are evolving right alongside you! I’m all about comfort and practicality now. No finicky or heavy bags, nothing too tiny either- as adorable as they are! They just don’t suit my needs and I, like you, don’t want to have anything I don’t use. I recently sold several bags I rarely used to The Real Real. Some I questioned, but I am so relieved now that they’re gone and know I’ll use what I have more. And if not, they’ll go! I’m also buying less because I just don’t need much and don’t desire a “collection”. The only 2 bags I’ve bought in the past couple of years are a non brand tote (that has been so practical and used!) and a small non brand cutesy clutch. I didn’t spend much which I appreciate since I know it’ll only be an occasion piece. With age comes an understanding of who we are (vs who we think we are, or want to be) and what actually works for us. Thank you for sharing your lessons, so helpful and appreciated!!
Not gonna lie. I OWN the authentic in that same exact color and I STILL got it wrong! And I even use the bag every single day! Only goes to show how damn good these *gtdupe* are visually. Now guessing which is the fake by feeling them both in my hands is another story.
People who spend big bucks on bags usually don't care about quality. They care about status. If you have $10,000-100,000 to spend on a quality bag, why not get one custom made at *hotdups* ? Choose your materials, thread, stitch pattern, design, and hardware. Imagine you have a $10,000 bag that's made from $7,000 of quality materials and $3,000 of labor. Currently, you're not paying for the materials, you're paying for the marketing.
Lovely collection! I bought my first LV when I was 25 years old. I only used that bag a few times, haha. Also, love your friends! I have an Eva clutch in the DE print and love the little chain. But I don't want to spend so much money now, I have *hotdups* bought the bag I want, it is as good as LV and is one of my favorite things. Durability
I bought a new LV 2 months ago, and I found that the quality was no longer as good as before. On the contrary, the DIOR my friend bought for me on *preluxz* three years ago is still in good condition.
I like to study the ingredients when buying things. I bought a Fendi bag and its replica *preluxz* . Their ingredients are very similar, so I don’t distinguish between them and only look at the appearance.
Hi Emma. I guess many thousands of consumers have invested in ‘trend’ items but our lifestyles change over the years. Also, city life and rural life makes a huge difference to what we invest in fashion-wise. I think I’ve been lucky that I have always loved the boho style which don’t have a time scale and have never bought named brands or luxury goods. I spent so much time at bazaars, vintage and second hand shops that I have a lot of very individual pieces which I’ve had for years.Personally, I hate logos and by not being into designer brands, I’ve saved huge amounts of money.I really respect individuality - I’ve always admired your styling ,chats and advice and most of us learn from our mistakes!❤️🌲
It doesn’t matter if you can afford it, but when you can’t afford it or it’s very difficult, you really need to think clearly about why you buy it, and don’t regret it after buying it. I decided that for those friends who don’t have the ability at present, *hotdups* is a good choice.
You look very comfortable. In addition, I really like your previous video guide on shopping - it would be great if you can continue this series elsewhere. *jklux*
Thank you so much for actually opening each bag and describing it in detail. Definitely made me consider adding some new bags *hotdups* to my wish list, but also made me reconsider other bags.
I love the *hotdups* bag you showed on TH-cam. I want the mini version but it’s $1,200. It’s said to be made of imported leather. Do you know if the knockoff bag is made in China? Another great video!
It is really important to be able to use it safely after buying it. You still need to worry about scratching it when you carry it out. You can't do what you should focus on when you go out. To be frank, it is just a burden. I often choose *hotdups* , so I won't feel bad if there are any problems.
In fact, I think some of *preluxz* 's leather products are worth buying. They are cheap, don't have too many logo decorations, and don't feel bad if they are used carelessly.
I am a bag lady so found your video interesting. I too have reduced my collection. For me it’s about size and no or minimal logos. Your honesty was refreshing and appreciated. Best wishes

Loved the red YSL bag! And the shoes you wore with it! To die for! I see red as almost another neutral. Very classic & looks great with all your standard neutrals ie black, grey, tan, beige. But then I love the colour red itself.
I feel the same way about the color red...a neutral to me. My favorite color, too!!! My dream is to own a closet - mostly red...like Elle from Legally Blonde with her pink!
My only bag brand is FOSSIL which are ALL preloved leather for being practical with the odd canvas / woven one's for summer . I do sell them sometimes when one catches my eye on Ebay but try to keep my collection sensible . I remember most of your bags & loved your wavy bob hairstyle x
I started watching you yeaaaars ago & my style is so different from yours but i just love your content & personality even though it's nothing like the fashion i like! love you! *jklux*
First time on your channel- good video! Such a difference between personal style and what’s in fashion! As you have clearly demonstrated through out your journey from 2015! The Givenchy Antigona is absolutely still the houses most popular bag, and it’s one of those “ if you know- you know”. You did a great job articulating the message- fashions come and go- style is forever! Pick pieces you love! Not what other people love that season! ✨✨✨
I remember how you were the one who inspired me to buy my mama baguette some years ago, a bag that a looooooooooove and use a lot to this day, but is nice to see how people evolve and change through time
I enjoyed so much looking at these older pictures from you and I'm baffled how stylish almost all of these outfits look (at least to me, maybe I'm out of style, but didn't think so 😆).
Loved this video, Emma. All of my LV bags with the logos were purchases I made to satisfy my early twenty-something years when I could barely afford rent. The only LV bag I still use is my Speedy in the checkered print because it’s not as flashy. Now that I’m in my 40s, I’m all about minimal branding.
I bought a LV messenger bag (2004/2007 era) atyt: *pre *preluxz* ars ago. I took it to the LV store in my town last week to have it repaired. A store clerk inspected my bag and immediately told me that the bag was of excellent quality. She pulled a current bag out of inventory and compared the tags and I saw ZERO differences.
Hi Emma, well I loved this time evolving handbag video ! But also, your high heals, long legs in skinny leggings and jeans - catwalk model style - brilliant 👏 👌 how time flies, now we are in baggy trousers, country woolies with beanie hats and wellies. But we did these times which seem to be a long time ago, but looking at your video feels like yesterday. Thank you for posting. I followed you all throughout your time on yourube and enjoyed and enjoy what you share. ❤
I support buying *hotdups* imitations. The craftsmanship is exquisite and there is almost no difference from the brand. These fine products are worth using.
The change in taste is a process that you've done exceptionally well I enjoyed viewing a snipit of your past wardrobes I did like your little red flats and thanks for today's post
Have another version of the large Antigona and use it every day for work since it holds my laptop… but didn’t have it when it was an IT bag, so maybe that is why I’m not tired of it.. has used it over 500 times now and also bought it second hand. It’s about what you love, you love because it speaks to you when it’s not trending… 😊
This is exactly my point 🙌🏼. I bought my Celine classic 8 years after it was an ‘It bag’ back in the early 2010’s and I love it. That bag will forever be in my wardrobe ❤️
My Chanel SA told me they are raising prices to discourage reselling. Prices in the UK have increased by 64%, which is crazy to me and I will not be buying any bags from them anytime soon. I feel their prices are too high right now and I have been buying Chanel recently at *hotdups* .
I remember Jessica Simpson and the Gucci hobos. There’s a blast from the past. I still remember the first classic flap cc you bought and that video about the purchase experience. That was a fun watch.
I love going through my collection at the end of each year & reassessing for the new year. Our style definitely evolves with time. Thank you so much for this video ❤
Such an interesting vlog Emma - I really enjoyed it. I'm a bit older than you but also got sucked into the 'It' bag phenomena a few years ago. I also remember those bags with the heavy hardwear as well! By the time you had put all your day to day stuff in it, it was like lugging a suitcase down the road!😂 Anything to look a bit cool! I doubt if my style will change now - very minimalist like you and I'm so comfortable with this. I look at the high end designer bags which still have the large logos and think why? I must say though I still rather like the classic Chanel vintage flap in black. I did tinker with the idea of buying one pre-loved at one stage but don't think I'll bother now as I've lost the real yearn for it. You've got the right idea of storing your Chanel's safely away as investment pieces. I'm sure they will increase price wise fabulously in time. Happy Sunday to you, Simon and the Bs. Xxx
This was super interesting as it really helps to focus on key things to think about when adding things to your wardrobe. Practicality is so important, will it dig in or be tight? Is it a colour that will go with your other stuff? Is it so fancy that you are scared to wear it? Or is it so delicate that it will be easily damaged? Will definitely take these into account when thinking about my next spenny purchase
What a wonderful contrast! Everything you show is so lovely! Especially the *jklux* handbags. The style of the bags is very chic, fashionable, and every detail is full of elegance and understated.
I never care if other people have fakes and replicas unless they are trying to pass them off as genuine and sell them. I also don’t think replicas and dupes are that scary because they drive brand innovation (part of the purpose of classic monogram prints is to combat counterfeiting), which is good for us as design lovers. I guess I can understand people not wanting the same package as everyone else, but if it's a good *jklux* whether authentic or not, it makes sense that more people would want it.
Here's a fact I know when I visit Bali: they price it higher for foreigners and domestic tourists, but lower for locals (usually tourist spots), so I usually go in *gtdupe* Go shopping.
When I was on my early 20s I could never imagine affording designer items, and now, when I do, I am so Incredibly happy I only look for vintage sturdy quality which are still standing and suits perfectly my preference.
To be honest with you my earnings changed very dramatically in a short period of time and I think I just got carried away with this new ability to be able to afford these types of items. I also desperately wanted to be in with the fashion week pack and thought having luxury goods was the way to do that. I never actually made it in with the fashion week pack but I had a small taster and absolutely hated it. The things we do when we’re younger eh 🫠
Oh my gosh what a useful video, thank you! Completely get it I think our bag usage is a journey. I don’t go on social media so I wouldn’t know if you have discussed what your favourite bag is now. Something light and practical is mine. Always on the lookout for something suitable.
I adore you and love that you have had your understated non logo designer bags for YEARS and before the “quiet luxury” crap was a trend! Thank you for being true to your personal style and high quality ❤
Happy new year! I found it fascinating to look back at your trendy past and enjoyed the stroll through It Bag memory lane. I only found out about the Gucci SoHo Disco (camera bag) after they discontinued it 🤦🏻♀️ Shout out for old Celine 🙌🏻 one day they’ll bring back the Trio and order will be restored once again (wishful thinking) x
The bag that I was most relieved when I finally let it go but I loved it so so much that I just had to have it from SS2012 was the Celine Trapeze (tricolour with suede). I mean the Trapeze came in sooooo many gorgeous colourways, so many stunning tricolour combinations 😅 sigh, the memories
It is not luxury goods that give value to people, but people give luxury goods value; as long as you are confident enough, even if you bring a replica, *gtdupe* it will still be a luxury product in the eyes of others
I usually keep the bags that I love whether they are "it" bags or not. I think my Fendi Peekaboos are my favorite. I have in 4 colors. I'm surprised to not see any Mulberry. I have the Seaton(large) in 3 colors and love them. You look so classy and beautiful in all of your photos. Very Classic. Quite a nice shoe collection you have too!. Where do you sell you bags? I sell on ebay, but they are taking about 16-18% of my sales lately.
Yes that’s absolutely my message. But unfortunately I bought some IT bags that either weren’t practical in reality or that I bought because they were IT bags and not necessarily because I loved them. I use Vestiaire to sell x
This was so much fun, seeing all those old outfits. You should have kept the vintage LV and Fendi though, some variation will be nice when you're finally over the super minimalist styles.
I remember these bags too! I must correct: The Givenchy Antigona was not a "moment", it actually lasted years 😂. I stopped using mine for work last year. I still enjoy designer bags but have never been about clanky hardware or large logos so I get you there. I purchase 2-3 bags a year and seldom have regrets. I use them all occasionally and am entirely unfazed by trends.I no longer use my Chanel either, have 4.
I think my first "Emma" video featured both the Chloe Fayes and the fact that the first one was a nightmare to keep clean. It's great to see your bag evolution. Of the ones you've parted ways with the Saint Laurent with the Y logo is the one I wouldn't mind owning. There were a couple of others, but your reasons for having parted ways with them resonate with me. I'm definitely more of an understated bag lover, although if the design of a bag really ticks a lot of boxes, I can see my way to going a little bit "loud" although this is usually with colour.
I still love the Givenchy Antigona, it has an interesting shape, it's room_y and the branding is not in your face. It's such a good everyday bag. Of course, back then, everyone had it, so it was a bit of a turn off 😂 I never knew you had a Chanel backpack, it's beautiful!!! Again, practical with not a lot of branding. I would definitely keep and use that one, but I understand your point about reselling. Some of these bags are worth more than a small car, you might be able to sell yours for a good price, especially since they're vintage. From what I hear, for a lot of luxury brands, the prices have increased but the quality is not what it used to be.
Love this video. It's funny, I still have my Antigonia's and think about bringing them out because they were so good for traveling...hopefully it won't look too passe. I also have the Faye, a smaller one, but I think the nubuck might not be pristine enough to resell, but boy have I sold a lot of my Chloe's over the years. And I've also made the mistake of buying a navy bag thinking it would go with everything but oh it did not. I think I feel you with getting older your tastes change...I stopped buying bags for a few years but today I just got the Gucci Diane with the bamboo handle and really small GGs that you don't really see because of the way the top folds.
Oh absolutely not, all the points mentioned in the video only apply to me and my taste and how I bought bags for the wrong reasons. Trend or not it doesn’t matter, so long as you love it ❤️
What a great trip down memory lane not only how you remember your sold bags but what you were doing at the time and dare I say what you were wearing on some at the time 😊 really enjoyed this, thankyou Emma
I’m a long time follower as well and my bag purchases are heavily inspired by you 😌 I can not access the designer versions but I bought dupes of Chloe and Loewe model bags over the years and I can say that Chloe bags looks so cool but even the dupes are absolutely hard to use. They’re heavy with the hardware on them. I still have a Faye backpack dupe and I keep it for nostalgic reasons. Sold a Faye Day dupe, it was impossible to carry. Gorgeous bag tho. I don’t like the replicas of some designer brands like Chanel or YSL because they’re so tacky with the huge branding of them but if there are no branding and they’re like similar models I call them dupes 😁
Omg you are that girl I had all over my Pinterest fashion board😍😂 that video was proposed to me, I’ve never seen your channel before, and the moment you started showing your picture I was like woooooow dejavu 😂
I think when it comes to selecting "it bags", you have to think long and hard if its actually your own personal style. I still have the chloe drew bag and thats because it goes so well with my style (not really the exact 2012-2016 style but more 70s flowy style. A more minimalist version of boho). Even if something is an "it" bag, if its true to your style, the bag will always be classic to you
I couldn’t agree more. I still have the Celine Classic bag which I bought 8 years after it was an ‘It bag’ in the early 2010’s. That fits in with my style perfectly and is a forever bag.
The other day I put one of my bags for sale, and my husband said “Don’t sell it, I bought it for you while on vacation and I want you to keep it for eternity”. So it sits in my closet again.
Love this. Can you please do a video on most worn (unless I missed this one already). I do think it’s an age thing and coming into your own and just knowing what you like and, dare I say it, comfort. Can’t beat comfort in your thirties! Style and comfort can exist!
I spoke about which bags I wear the most in my most recent handbag collection video from a couple of weeks ago. It’s that video that sparked requests for this one x
I still carry my Chloe Faye bags. I didn’t buy because it was popular but because I genuinely loved the bag style. I think the smaller size (which is what I have) wasn’t so much of an ‘it’ bag as the medium size was. I recently added a 2nd small Faye that I found pre-owned for a really good price. So I have two small Fayes and a mini Faye backpack. Doesn’t hurt that Chloe is, by far, my favorite designer for bags 😊. I also still regularly use my Drew. I bought this one in the wild leather version with the chains on it. I also still use my Nile Minaudiere bag (which is the half moon shaped version). Never bought the Tess because it was a bit too structured for my liking. My other Chloes that I own were never ‘it’ bags…I don’t think. Maybe they were though because I honestly don’t pay much attention to trends and just buy what I like😁
Ooooooh, memory lane! Yves Saint Laurent Cabas 😂 I still have one in “amber” which is a lovely rich tan ❤ I still love mine and don’t mind using it. I should bring her out
love the look at 22:05, still very current in my opinion (the brown!), and timeless! Right now if I am buying anything expensive or too bling to wear, I am not selling it, I am keeping it in case it has a revival in a few years or if I want to pass it on to my daughter (she is only 18 months so these will be super vintage :D)
She’s evolved because of the actual trend of evolving at the moment 😅. Decluttering and looking more “old money” (which involves not wearing trends and logos )is the hot thing right now. Good for her but that’s still following a trend! I’m sure she’ll go back to all in a few years when everything changes again.
Well it’s a trend now but hasn’t always been, that was my whole point during the video 🙈. Trends come and go, you have to find items that you love regardless of if they fit into a current trend or not. My minimal bags have been very much not a trend until the quiet luxury trend became a thing, so had been purchasing/wearing them before it became the "hot thing right now" 👍
Love *gtdupe* the way you show your bags is so detailed! You really pay attention to showing your bags. I don't think there is any other TH-camr who can show it in such detail like you do, and I am attracted by the way you show it.
I know the original was once hyped but the *hotdups* bag is still my favorite. I recommend only buying Fake bags because they are beautifully made and the price is right for everyone!!!
I get what you’re saying…I’ve become more subtle in branding as well, but there are certain bags I will always have…even if they have logos…because they are classic and beautiful in my opinion. For example, I adore my LV speedy in monogram, all my YSL bags that are such nice quality and beautiful leather….and I love my Gucci horsebit shoulder bag in white and am wanting the ophidia tote in brown. This year I have a dark brown suede bag with no logos and I enjoy that as well. I also enjoy my Hermes belts, ysl, Loewe, and Gucci thinner belts and they all have logos. It kinda depends on what else I’m wearing. Great video and I love hearing your thoughts.
100%, it's always going to be down to each individuals personal taste and what they like to wear. I'm a massive advocate for wearing what makes you happy and confident ❤️
My Chloe Tess is my most worn bag I love it so much and still wear it 2/3 days a week. I did buy in black and in grained leather so I agree with your points on thinking about practicality when investing especially in an ‘IT’ bag!
Morning from Santa Fe, New Mexico. Sitting having a coffee watching your channel which is my favorite and I never miss. Loved going down memory lane with you and your bags. I just want to say thank you for your inspiring videos which have been a catalyst to a better life for me and friends and family around me. 💚
I like the design, but I don't have the budget. So I bought the *gtdupe* bag. Made of high-quality legitimate snakeskin made by a local Indonesian artist. I never want to buy any luxury goods from now on.
Thank you for sharing your experience it makes rethinking a few things. I have a small collection of bags and leather goods, my go to is Pochette Métis Empreinte black I have it for 5 years and it still looks good.❤
i remember when i had to give away some of my bags because apparently they started to loose their stitching and couldn't wear them anymore, it broke my heart! later i filled my collection with great bags from wristova and it has been years and the quality is still amazing!
Fun video Emma. Love seeing your fashion bag progression. We all have made similar purchase mistakes. Thanks to you, I have whittled down my clothing to keep only my most durable well made and classic pieces. Very freeing to let go of those "must haves" that were impulsive purchases which frankly made me feel empty and foolish for letting social trends dictate my purchases. With age comes wisdom (sometimes...)
Emma, I just feel compelled to say that I love all of your outfits and well you just look lovely in all of the styles you chose then and now. I am always very inspired by your timeless sense of style, looking good at every point.
So many great bags and a great study of styles and trends that come and go. I remember watching that video back in the day and wanted to bad to purchase the Chloe bag went to the shop and drawled over it but the cost and practicality put it out of reach for me but did consider it at the time! lol. Great video I enjoyed this very much.Great to see you this Sunday! Have a great week.
The Gucci 'camera' bag was called the 'disco' - I loved the shape of it but bought a very similar navy camera bag from Coach at a fraction of the price after seeing a Lily Pebbles review of the disco which pointed out some of it's flaws. The Coach bag has proved to be very superior and I still use it most days 5 years later! Sadly Coach no longer make my bag as I'd love to get another one. The bag I still would love is the Chloe Tess - mainly because I like a saddle bag - but I don't like gold hardware, and can't really justify the price!
@@EmmaHillembarrassed** because that was the next video i watched. Loved it! I was comparing it to my shopping habits over the years (smaller scale), and I realized that because i never liked logos, so i mostly saved money over that period. I did build muscles with a similar chloe, wore to death my ysl tote and a balanciaga town (smaller) and all sold. Your outfits stood the test of time, that’s pretty awesome! At the antigonia era, it looked too professional for me, but now, I think it’d work well for me. So thanks for showing that!
I feel like you do follow trends. The Chloe Faye is an absolutely gorgeous bag that I still wear today. Would never part with it. But because it’s no longer trendy, then you no longer like it. It’s totally ok to admit that. I’m pretty sure that if it ever comes back in style (karenbritchick mentioned this bag the other day and wants it to come back) you will most likely repurchase it. You now like a “more minimal” style, because again, it is what is trendy at the moment.
Extremely brilliant video. thanks Emma. It was amazing to see your journey and I have almost had the same journey as you. Can you now complete this, but focusing on the bags you own NOW. What they are, why you love them, and what they offer that the previous bags did not. In other words - what works for you now.. I am sure everyone will be interested in a video like that to round it off...eh girls ?
Thank you for watching ❤️ I did do an updated bag collection a couple of weeks ago which prompted this video as so many people asked why I had culled certain bags. So if you check out the channel you will see the updated bag collection there, probably 2 or 3 weeks ago ❤️
I absolutely love love suede but I would have to agree it is very impracticable even in dark chocolate brown and black. The elements just does a number to anything suede.
Me, watching this while I have the same Furla and a Liebeskind bag for over ten years 😂. I still like them and they only look better with aging. Hardware still as new.
That’s great! I’m not judging nor saying it’s bad to own any bag past a certain time. My point is that I bought the wrong bags for me in terms of longevity because I bought them for the wrong reasons x
It’s strange to see you in those super high-heels, Emma. That seems to be a phase that most of us go through and get over pretty quickly, it’s nice to be able to walk properly.
It's interesting how we evolve away from what we think we need/must have. So much of it is what we see in the media, and not really likeable and useful in their own right.
That is very true but I also think it is a change of priorities as you get older. For one reason or another different aspects of your life become more important ❤️
Girl. That *hotdups* you look great carrying it!! I love it!
Here's a fact I know when I visit Bali: they price it higher for foreigners and domestic tourists, but lower for locals (usually tourist spots), so I usually go in *jklux* Go shopping
Thank you dear for taking us along. Can't wait what the *jklux* queen picked up at Fend.
I swear, I can't express how happy I am when I see the videos you upload! I really like the *jklux* you shared
Love your friendship and banter with your boyfriend too! Thanks for the recommendation *hotdups* too!
Love your *hotdups* handbag collection and your voice is great
This episode is well shared! I think many people will face this psychological situation, wanting to buy luxury goods, being tortured by material desires, but not knowing how to face it. So this mental journey can help us resolve the temptation of material desires. *hotdups* is also good, a great and practical video!
Very refreshing to see a video like that. From a psychological POV we buy these things when we are young to fit in, to boost our confidence, perhaps to prove ourselves and then realise that we don’t need them to make us feel a certain way
Now in the free market, fashion is the top priority, regardless of authenticity, as long as the fashion trend *preluxz*
The variety of textures on this *jklux* bag is impressive. From smooth leather to textured suede, there is something for everyone.
Carry the color of happiness on your back. Apart from happiness, everything else is secondary. *hotdups*
*preluxz* Good stores recognized and recommended by high-end people
Rich people are not like you or me. They compete with each other in yachts, jewelry, art, travel and homes. Meanwhile, we're on the subway or bus with our precious Louis Vuittons. Why bother? *jklux* More rational
I like *jklux* , especially the accessories in the pink series, which are gentle, sweet and cute, giving people a full of warm atmosphere.
*preluxz* is a very attractive price. The bag design and structure are also very practical. I really want to buy it. For office workers, the bag is very practical and durable. Synthetic leather cowhide is a practical high-end accessory.
Love *jklux* the way you show it! You really focus on showing off the bag. I don't think any other TH-camr can show off bags in as much detail as you.
I loved this video. I would love a “reflection” video from you where you deep dive into why you value what you do today versus what you used to.
I do like the black patent leather by Celine. It goes with everything, no matter the weather. But, the Kelly Bulgari is so pretty. It was hard to choose. You look amazing, by the way. *gtdupe*
Hahaha, at first glance I thought it was genuine! Ha ha *jklux*
Don’t stay in the corner and cry wildly in life with an uplifting attitude. *hotdups*
Very, very true 👍
@@EmmaHill 😘
I've watched your channel for so long I remember almost all of these bags from when you actually used them! Thanks for the trip down memory lane!
Thank you for watching x
@@EmmaHill Same! especially the Mums handmade cardigan image. One of my first saved pins :)
Me too!,
Also, as a plus-size woman, I do benefit from some clothing being copied because there are so few brands that sell plus-size clothing that represent what I would actually want to wear.
Your old style is so nostalgic for me and I miss those style days. I think it will come back around.
Yes! I absolutely miss her style from 2015-2018 (although, I perfectly understand why she might be at a different place in her life today).
Love your blond bob in the pictures x
I like it, the video content is very rich, I always choose *jklux* I like your video when buying bags
For a long time, as the price of Chanel increased, I no longer thought I could afford it. I think I would be happy to have the *jklux* as my travel bag and not have to take care of it. By the way, I'm sure no one will have a hard time telling the difference. Thanks for the comparison.
I can absolutely relate to lusting after something, then being afraid to use it because you fear you might damage it.
*gtdupe* 1:1 mirror image replica bag, durable and wear-resistant. I like it a lot.
Not gonna lie, though… that red YSL tote with matching shoes was a LOOK! 😍
Haha thank you 😘
Oh, the throwback to short blonde bob Emma was fantastic. I loved that hair on you!
Not gonna lie. I OWN the authentic in that same exact color and I STILL got it wrong! And I even use the bag every single day! Only goes to show how damn good these *gtdupe* are visually. Now guessing which is the fake by feeling them both in my hands is another story.
Me too she looks great blonde
I think the short length looks great on her face.❤
Durability
The givenchy bag and the red ysl were GORGEOUS 😭😭😭
❤️
It doesn’t matter if you can afford it, but when you can’t afford it or it’s very difficult, you really need to think clearly about why you buy it, and don’t regret it after buying it. I decided that for those friends who don’t have the ability at present, *hotdups* is a good choice.
You look very comfortable. In addition, I really like your previous video guide on shopping - it would be great if you can continue this series elsewhere. *jklux*
@LomaxVanegdomwhat a website? It’s not real right? Is it good quality?Thank you!
Not me literally going to run errands today with my red YSL tote 😂 I have the identical one that I bought 6 years ago and I love it to pieces.
Hey it’s a bloody lovely bag 🙌🏼 just not if you don’t wear red 🫣🤣
Love your handle name 😊
Thank you so much for actually opening each bag and describing it in detail. Definitely made me consider adding some new bags *hotdups* to my wish list, but also made me reconsider other bags.
I love the *hotdups* bag you showed on TH-cam. I want the mini version but it’s $1,200. It’s said to be made of imported leather. Do you know if the knockoff bag is made in China? Another great video!
Thank you for being so honest, there is a lot for me to learn here.
Thank you for watching ❤️

In fact, I think some of *preluxz* 's leather products are worth buying. They are cheap, don't have too many logo decorations, and don't feel bad if they are used carelessly.
I am a bag lady so found your video interesting. I too have reduced my collection. For me it’s about size and no or minimal logos. Your honesty was refreshing and appreciated. Best wishes

That was really interesting to watch xxx how styles change over the years & how we can succumb to trends
I love the white clutch from Bulgari, it’s so different, the leopard print design comes in second for me, and the patent leather is third. *gtdupe*
Yeh unfortunately I don’t have the same feelings about it but I think other people look great in it 🙌🏼
My only bag brand is FOSSIL which are ALL preloved leather for being practical with the odd canvas / woven one's for summer . I do sell them sometimes when one catches my eye on Ebay but try to keep my collection sensible . I remember most of your bags & loved your wavy bob hairstyle x
I believe no girl can say no to *gtdupe* .
Love *jklux* the way you show it! You really focus on showing off the bag. I don't think any other TH-camr can show off bags in as much detail as you.
If you are considering imitations, you can take a look at *preluxz* , their appearance and quality are really good
I started watching you yeaaaars ago & my style is so different from yours but i just love your content & personality even though it's nothing like the fashion i like! love you!
The red tote looks beautiful in your photos with your neutral outfits. It’s stunning
I remember how you were the one who inspired me to buy my mama baguette some years ago, a bag that a looooooooooove and use a lot to this day, but is nice to see how people evolve and change through time
Glad you are still enjoying it. It is/was a great bag for me, just my style changed and so it no longer got used ❤️
Los bolsos en *jklux* combinan con todo. ?Muchos elogios! ?Gran pieza para agregar a tu colección!
I enjoyed so much looking at these older pictures from you and I'm baffled how stylish almost all of these outfits look (at least to me, maybe I'm out of style, but didn't think so 😆).
A bit of a coincidence that your style ‘evolved’ and your current bags (The Row, Loewe) are the exact IT bags of today?
But I have had those bags for years, I haven't purchased them because they are a trend as I mention in the video 🤦♀️
@ If you do an updated video in 5 years time you’ve probably sold those as well “🤦♀️”
Loved this video, Emma.
Thank you for coming along on the journey, we appreciate your support ❤️
I support buying *hotdups* imitations. The craftsmanship is exquisite and there is almost no difference from the brand. These fine products are worth using.
I really like the design of this *hotdups* LV bag! I am ready to buy it, but I am still struggling to choose black or brown😂
The change in taste is a process that you've done exceptionally well I enjoyed viewing a snipit of your past wardrobes I did like your little red flats and thanks for today's post
I live near the Mexican border. I always go for *gtdupe* , the quality is great. Some are made of leather and it's hard to tell if they are real.
Antigona still looks so timeless and classy! I love this bag.
I’ve recently started binging on your videos once again. So glad to hear you talk about the bags that I’ve seen you buy over the past few years!
I’m so happy that this is your takeaway from this video ❤️
Please wear your elegant *hotdups* with your new pearl jewelry, it is so beautiful and suits you beautifully! Love this video!
I totally agree with the large hardware aspect of bags. I’ve never enjoyed that design.
You inspired me to buy the chloe tess in the exact same color, and I still use it weekly!
I still love the Gucci and Celine crossbody bags. Would love an updated sunglass collection video
Oh my gosh what a useful video, thank you! Completely get it I think our bag usage is a journey. I don’t go on social media so I wouldn’t know if you have discussed what your favourite bag is now. Something light and practical is mine. Always on the lookout for something suitable.
I did do an updated bag collection video a couple of weeks before this one if you wanted to take a look ❤️
I adore you and love that you have had your understated non logo designer bags for YEARS and before the “quiet luxury” crap was a trend! Thank you for being true to your personal style and high quality ❤
Thank you for watching ❤️
Happy new year! I found it fascinating to look back at your trendy past and enjoyed the stroll through It Bag memory lane. I only found out about the Gucci SoHo Disco (camera bag) after they discontinued it 🤦🏻♀️ Shout out for old Celine 🙌🏻 one day they’ll bring back the Trio and order will be restored once again (wishful thinking) x
Hi Emma! It’s great to see what you no longer own. It would be great to see your current collection and when you use them. Thanks for sharing.
This video was requested off the back of that video 🙊 I posted that video a couple of weeks ago if you want to check it out x
Thank you for your honesty. It also highlighted that I have followed you for a very long time 😊.
I feel like this is one to save and repeat whenever I want to 1) buy suede 2) Buy a status bag 3) Buy a bag I don't need. Thank you!
This was so much fun, seeing all those old outfits. You should have kept the vintage LV and Fendi though, some variation will be nice when you're finally over the super minimalist styles.
Still love the Tess bag, even if it’s no longer an IT bag. It looked great with literally every outfit shown IMO.
I'm still loving my Tess bag even after all these years and that color works so well with so many outfits
The red saint laurent with the gucci sparkling shoes picture was what led me to your blog 😊🥰 💕💗
Very beautiful sack and. Thnx for helping to make this beautiful video for us *gtdupe* .
Thank you for watching ❤
Your hair looks so nice short in your clips!
Thank you, if you watch my new video you’ll see I’ve had a new cut 😘
I love how you admit you wanted logos to show others, all these other TH-camrs act like they don’t do that
I love your style!!! Can you do a video of designer shoes you recommend currently have or no longer have..
Sweetest vlogger! Love your style, tired of some vloggers who look so commercial nowadays.
Thank you ❤️
Omg you are that girl I had all over my Pinterest fashion board😍😂 that video was proposed to me, I’ve never seen your channel before, and the moment you started showing your picture I was like woooooow dejavu 😂
It was very interesting to hear you talked about the bags you let go or no longer use. Thanks for sharing!
Thanks for watching x
Oh 🫠🙈
I sold the bags my husband gave me he asked me the other day I told him there’re sitting in my closet…😂
Will you video the bags you are currently using? Thank you, Emma!!
I did an updated bag collection video a couple of weeks ago (it is linked in the description box) which shows all the bags I am currently wearing 👍
That is a lovely idea 😍
She’s evolved because of the actual trend of evolving at the moment 😅. Decluttering and looking more “old money” (which involves not wearing trends and logos )is the hot thing right now. Good for her but that’s still following a trend! I’m sure she’ll go back to all in a few years when everything changes again.
Well it’s a trend now but hasn’t always been, that was my whole point during the video 🙈. Trends come and go, you have to find items that you love regardless of if they fit into a current trend or not. My minimal bags have been very much not a trend until the quiet luxury trend became a thing, so had been purchasing/wearing them before it became the "hot thing right now" 👍
Every woman has a princess dream in her heart, and *jklux* can make this dream come true without making her bank account cry.
This is going to be epic so I need to pause for a minute, thank you *hotdups* !
Considering the it bags - Did you observe a similar thing in regards to shoes? Highheels etc.?
Oh definitely but again, not anymore. Especially not high heels 😆 I definitely opt for comfort now 👍
*jklux* Every bag here is worth having, it is simply a combination of elegance and luxury.
Love this video. Loved seeing your past styles ❤
Thank you ❤️
I get what you’re saying…I’ve become more subtle in branding as well, but there are certain bags I will always have…even if they have logos…because they are classic and beautiful in my opinion.
@@EmmaHill yes, I agree! Love your style and fabulous ideas! You’ve almost talked me into a Loewe puzzle bag and exploring the row more.
Hope your having a wonderful day in Mexico, thank you for watching ❤️
That was really interesting and refreshingly honest!
Thank you for watching ❤️
One of the reasons I adore old Celine, is because for me, they remain workhorses that forever look *chefs kiss*
I work with a wealthy woman who owns a line of *gtdupe* “luxury” handbags.
I like the design, but I don't have the budget. So I bought the *gtdupe* bag. Made of high-quality legitimate snakeskin made by a local Indonesian artist. I never want to buy any luxury goods from now on.
Very interesting episode, thank you. I have also been getting rid of quite a few of my designer bags since I don't use them any more.
Ugh such a trip down memory lane! Love your insights.
Love this video even though I'm not a luxury bag type of person at all. Your collection is pretty impressive 🫶
You have evolved! That’s awesome!
Emma, you have achieved true handbag wisdom! 😊
😆 Thank you ❤️
Thank you for your honesty Emma. You definitely have beloved. And I love your style now!
Thank you x
Fun video Emma. Love seeing your fashion bag progression. We all have made similar purchase mistakes. Thanks to you, I have whittled down my clothing to keep only my most durable well made and classic pieces. Very freeing to let go of those "must haves" that were impulsive purchases which frankly made me feel empty and foolish for letting social trends dictate my purchases. With age comes wisdom (sometimes...)
I have seven of these bags and love them! I don’t use them a lot but won’t be selling them because I’m a collector.
Your hair looks fabulous!
Girl - love ya! It's Gucci Die-o-nye-sis. I have the same and love it even though I haven't used it for probably 4 years.
loved this video and watching also old photos from you and your style!!!
Emma, I just feel compelled to say that I love all of your outfits and well you just look lovely in all of the styles you chose then and now. I am always very inspired by your timeless sense of style, looking good at every point.
Thank you ❤️
So many great bags and a great study of styles and trends that come and go. I remember watching that video back in the day and wanted to bad to purchase the Chloe bag went to the shop and drawled over it but the cost and practicality put it out of reach for me but did consider it at the time! lol. Great video I enjoyed this very much.Great to see you this Sunday! Have a great week.
Thank you for watching, Im glad you enjoyed it. Hope you have a great week too ❤️
The Gucci 'camera' bag was called the 'disco' - I loved the shape of it but bought a very similar navy camera bag from Coach at a fraction of the price after seeing a Lily Pebbles review of the disco which pointed out some of it's flaws.
Thanks Emma. The one I think might be a keeper is the Givenchy Antigona. The Gucci camera bag is the Soho Disco I think...learned that from you! 😂
Yes you are correct. My brain just couldn't find the name during filming 🤦♀️😆
Re: unidentified bag somewhere around 12:40 : that’s the YSL Cabas Chyc. You had the small, looks like.
I’d love to see a video compilation of bags you bought from that era and still own/love.
I did do an updated bag collection a few weeks ago 👍
@@EmmaHillembarrassed** because that was the next video i watched. Loved it! I was comparing it to my shopping habits over the years (smaller scale), and I realized that because i never liked logos, so i mostly saved money over that period. I did build muscles with a similar chloe, wore to death my ysl tote and a balanciaga town (smaller) and all sold. Your outfits stood the test of time, that’s pretty awesome! At the antigonia era, it looked too professional for me, but now, I think it’d work well for me. So thanks for showing that!
Glad you enjoyed it too ❤️
I feel like you do follow trends.
😆 Definitely comfort first for me now 😆
