When I lived in Central Florida, we were in the heart of the Phosphate mines which of course was created by fossilized sea creatures mostly. We didn't find many man made things, but the points were usually shark teeth, and we found bunches of em. Lots of dirt roads that got washed and flooded, and then re-cut. My job also got me permission into the mines and they had bunches of roads with points and artifacts, even fossils we found. 'Til today I'm still walking and watching where my feet are going, never know what you find. Great video, man.
Enjoying watching your old stuff. It's good to pass on this type of info so history can be saved and shared by the common people. Keep up the good work brother. Many blessings Sir.
I'm just getting interested in hunting for arrow heads, and thanks to you, a prime area with a big creek and a bunch of dirt roads is on my to do list, so thank you!
Nice video. That ditch looks really juicy! I'm heading out to do some trout fishing here today on a little, steep run that empties into the Susquehanna River. You can bet my eyes will be on the ground and creek bottom as much as possible. Bonus points to you for the Alice's Restaurant reference!
I found a 4 inch blade on public property laying about 3 inches from the sidewalk going to a bathroom facility. Thousands of people had walked by it and surely it had been stepped on a hundred times and nobody never noticed it.
Dude! Do you know how many thousands of times I’ve walked over little chips like that and not known what I was looking at? These videos are really helpful.
I admire your passion & hard work to pass on knowledge & locate sites. People should be more kind & allow you on their property to search for artifacts. I always thought Kentucky people were kind sharing folks . I think that was a fine point you found. Keep up the good work & tks for sharing.
Hey thanks! Coming back to say that this video helped me a lot. Sometimes I wonder about folks in the excavator line of work and how much stuff they must scratch up and whether any of them might be looking.
When u was a kid I found half of a quartz point in a farming road in between fields. I always have looked in out of the way places detecting for civil war relics and found some cool things. I read about this account that happened during a battle and went to that spot which I knew hadn't been detected. I walked past it dozens of times before I read about it. Found a Shoulder Scale with a 2 ring Gardner beside it.Shoulder Scales are a rare battle field find in the North.Usually they took them off. But these troops were just mustered in 3 days prior to the battle. It was cool to do the research and then find the spot and find relics that made the account true. Just apply it to a different hobby for out of the way places. Thanks for your good videos, I enjoy listening to your theories. Take care!
Another cool and informative video, ty. I believe that point was found around the creek after getting worn down for a long time in the creek and probably brought up to their village site where you found it, they were probably going to reuse it but it didn't look like it had been reworked. Just my thoughts on it
I found a fine arrowhead today looking on my road. But I live on a very big ridge that a creek flows thru. I have many points an big coffee cans full of flakes.
yup this is all true n i done it for years bad thing is if they truck it in from out of state but hell yes find gravel road n park n hunt the crap out of it find alot of quarts n stuff also
When it comes to the flakes, how can you tell the difference if they were made by hand, machine, or nature? You may have said in the video and I might have missed it. Thank you!
I'm turning 30 in a couple days. I found my first point about 4 years ago. I also wonder about how many artifacts I've stepped right over before I knew to look.
I’ve checked in the state I live in your not allowed to take artifacts from any public or federal property. Also as far as right of ways the adjacent land owner owns hunting rights to the center line of the roadway whether it be county or state maintained
Can't get anything done around here now. Too busy walking around staring at the ground. Thanks alot, Dale ! 🙄
😅
Your 100% right people wouldn’t look there! I always look! Love your videos! Your real an speak the truth!
Thanks Tara!

Never quit looking.
Sir, the knowledge that you have is impressive to say the least. Thank you for sharing from North West Georgia.
That just means I'm getting old, but I paid attention... Thanks man, appreciate it.
Dude! Do you know how many thousands of times I’ve walked over little chips like that and not known what I was looking at? These videos are really helpful.
Yes sir, I do. That's why I'm trying to help folks narrow down their searches. I'm glad it works for you!

Man, it's just experience. Search my channel- I have a couple of vids that are all about debitage. THANKS.
I'm turning 30 in a couple days. I found my first point about 4 years ago. I also wonder about how many artifacts I've stepped right over before I knew to look.
Well, welcome to my nightmare. And as to your question? TOO MANY! Peace.
Love your videos. What do you mean when you say it's been cooked?
Heat treated. It makes the rock (sometimes) easier to knap. The prettiest pieces I ever found were from "cooked" chert. Thanks.
Not sure how it didn't get broke in half from all the truck and tractor traffic
It's a wonder, for sure. Thanks.
👍
Why arent u more excited about that point that's nice right?
I think I was excited- I was just incredulous how a point like that was at that location.
@@HickbillyOutdoorswithDWVerts leads me to my next question if it was so impossible u wouldnt be looking wouldnt be doing the video..
@@brianramsey3824 Very true. Thanks for watching!
I'm a bit confused now. I thought it was illegal to hunt artifacts on public land, state or federal. Any feedback out there please ?
THIS video is about hunting on road right-of-ways. You do need to check regs on other public properties.
@@HickbillyOutdoorswithDWVerts thanks

An embarrassment of riches u can drag your drive way with artifacts
Is it legal in state parks? ? ??
You really need to check wherever you live. In MO it says that removal of artifacts from a State Park is illegal without written permission.
Thank you
Hu po
You are stretching the law.
Not really, not here in MO anyway.
