I love MP-10. I also love the WeiJiang MPP10 because it's more in-scale in truck mode with a lot of other MPs. I think it's great, and I prefer chunky Hulk-like Prime. Seems more heroic to me.
Does this figure blend well along with other mp figures? Or does it stand out to much, like how well does he look alongside a figure like mp 18 streak and prowl? And also have they made any changes and improvements since this video ?
Not sure if MP01 had sliding smokestacks, but I know that the Takara had full smokestacks on MP01 while Hasbro's release had the short neutered smokestacks...a move that Hasbro thankfully didn't repeat with their releases of MP10. And MP10 IS pretty good...dated for sure, but still pretty good. I would've pulled the trigger on the MP10X chrome version (some places called it MP10X, others called it MP10CH), but by the time I could've, the very first MP44 KO was up for preorder...and that shiny MP10 had gone up to around $105-110 anyway, annoyingly.
The shiny MP10 is a fun way to preserve the past since I sold off my other one. The MP01 has long stacks in Japan but short here in the us but there was an upgrade kit to make them long
I missed out on the first metallic one that I really wanted and when I saw they were reissuing him a year ago I eagerly preordered but was disappointed to see how far they went with the metallic paint this time. It's so over the top I have a hard time transforming him. I'm not opening his chest panels until I get a spudger...
11:08 ha! As this vid was going, I kept thinking to myself about the chromed KO of MP10 and how I had it displayed with giga powers chromed dinobots and some fans toys G2 dinobots. Was trying to remember if MPP10 OSKO had a chrome deco or not, but I think I ought to circle back to target and pick up that Jadatoys 1/24 scale prime, as I think(?) that had a candy red paint beyond their chromed stacks and grill. It also ought to look nice with M.A.S.K.... but can you imagine a Rhino given this type of shiny metallic paint scheme?
I have the 1st release, along with the earlier "metallic" release with the silver legs, and the white Magnus repaint. Yeah, I like this mold. lol. Although my metallic version is not as shiny with the red, I do still like it a lot. This new one is nice, but I'm happy with the ones I have. I wanted the MP-44 but couldn't justify paying $500 for it. This is a nice alternative for sure.
@@tydiriumhanger1320 A lot less chance of scratching. It has a sheen to it, and it's much better looking that the first release with the white legs IMHO. It has a nice presence to it.
Nice review Mike! I got mine and love it but that paint has made some things TIGHT! It's pretty hard for me to open the chest on mine and shoulders are super tight. I wish the windows snapped in rather than loose tabs because mine constantly fall in with the slightest touch, wheres the extra paint when its needed! Maybe I'll hit the tabs with some nail polish, just got done doing that all over my Zeta Flash. The wipers move but you guessed it..... too much paint in the holes! I used some flat blade tweezers so I could hold the wiper arms as close to the base as possible to avoid flex and they turn just fine! Now that they are straight I prefer the extra paint cuz they hold their position. Anyway, I've transformed him back and forth and posed him a lot, no chips! I think the paint is pretty good and should hold up, it feels that way so far anyway.
It’s a shame they didn’t release this first. I remember waiting for it to come out years ago but Magic Square decided to take it’s time and Takara released MP Prime during that time so they lost their chance to sell me the figure. Lesson of the story, toy companies, don’t mess around and release the correct version first or risk losing your sale to another company
Well, I just bought it, considering I only got into MP collecting like a year or more ago, I got really lucky since most of the amazing figures have only come out recently, and there's lots of reviews so I can decide on what I want based on my own preference. And I really like this figure. I'm not beholden to absolute cartoon accuracy. This was a great buy for me!
I love my magic square primes. I have the original with cell shaded windows so it looks super toon. This new one I display with other well painted figures like fanstoys. The wipers on the new one do move but they are very tight. Be careful
Just got mine!!! (My wipers both move btw) Great minds think alike I see! I bet he'd look great next to the likes of ft Huffer. I am beyond impressed. So much better than the tf element imo. But hey, we like what we like and that's why there's diversity and competition with optimus's's's Mike: from one shininess connoisseur to another, I'm still kicking myself for missing out on "Optimus Shine" aka ko mp10x or CH. Has yours held up over the years? I get that you don't really pick yours up other than to dust it but I'm wondering if it still feels as solid.? Might still try and find one myself if it's worth it. Then again, I bet if I find an mp10x or CH, ko, then a ko mp 44 electroplated/shiny Optimus will come out and then I'll want that. That's always my luck.

Magic Square Optimus is Basically a Perfect version of MP-10 While TE went for a straight cartoon look.

How has your paint held up over time? I just got this in hand. A bit late, seeing the 2.0 is out, but It is a pretty nice looking figure.

That first Metallic is more of a flat and I am guessing less chance of scratching

Got this guy recently and my only issue is that his left smokestack won't extend. Anyone know a fix?

Yep the slightest paint overspray into the slots make them tight. I had the same problem with the window but only after I messed with it a bit

The MP 10 Ch has held up well but the head is very loose which is the way it came
I'm still glad I went with the Transform Element Optimus Prime

Yep that chrome is a lost art so had to jump on that one right away. This MS paint feels like a nice balance though
