Bobby’s got one of the best rock and soul voices ever. It’s not something that can be learned or taught or practiced. It’s a feeling that you’re born with and never goes away.
Awesome. Great story of a great song by a great band. Props to Coco too. Her singing and playing compliments Bobby's singing and playing. Got chills hearing this. Music history, then and now!
This album is one I listen to a lot still to this day! It's brilliant. The composition and performance in all songs is great. I'm no musician...just a 75 yr old fan!!!
Bobby is the only musician who can explain to the masses what goes on in the mind of the artist in terms the population-at-large can relate to. Thank God for this genius. Love this guy
The love in Bobby's smile @5:55 ... this and his open, honest relationship with his art is what keeps this gentle man forever young, even at age 74. Went down the WWW rabit hole listening to Layla and realised rather embarassingly that, after enjoying the iconic track for 53 years, I never knew who played the amazing keyboard on it! And so, found myself here and.... MIND BLOWN at @6:11 when Bobby's voice exploded over my speakers! Unforced power and balance, as relevant today as any time before. What a wonderful man and couple. Long may they continue. I'm off to find more....
Its one of the biggest mysteries in rock history how this guy never made it to Dylan, Clapton level, hes just an amazing musician. Hes a genius, everything he does sounds so good, youd wonder how he didnt make it after the dominos, Him and clapton were the heart and soul of that album.
Been watching y'all's recent videos, 2021-23 and loving the stories. I have to say after seeing this, Coco, you Jam Girl! Very impressed with not just your vocal, but guitar playing. So glad you two found each other. God bless you both. Keep growing to the light!
Now that’s music ... such a joy and what harmonies! I could listen to Bobby for hours. The man is a prince. Really digging his autobiography. Such history! Thank you!
Saw them (again) the other night at the Saxon. My wife and I wordlessly looked at each other like, how is that voice even possible at his age? It's truly a gift, and something to behold.
This shows me how strategic BOBBY was to the whole DEREK and the Dominoes experience. Realizing now why I loved Clapton so much during that period - because he had Bobby as part of the gig to round out the sound. Duane didn't hurt either 😅
I just listened to the ending solo at 4:20 and you are absolutely correct. The 4 or 5 guitar live overdubs lay in seamlessly. Who knew? Great story, Bobby. That is really something! ❤
How have i not seen this before?! Bobby and Coco-you guys are such a treasure! Love Love Love your harmony vocals. What a pretty version of the classic. Wonderful story as well. Thank you David for posting this!
I never could appreciate how great these songs were until I discovered Bobby's YT channel and made a deeper dive. To me the original album was a very muddy mix. Only now, I realize how much his singing and song writing demonstrate the huge contribution he made. They should remaster the original album (Derek and the Dominoes) from 1970, without the old blues standards. Let somebody re-mix it.
+Pat Coughlin Come to Austin. They play every other Saturday at the Saxon Pub. $10.00 and worth every penny. Find him on Facebook. They are doing short tours. They played NYC last year.
I love it when you two get to playin' them gitboxes! Mighty nice. I would have liked it even more, if Coco had SMILED during the show!! COME ON, COCO! When you're on STAGE, we SURE DO want to see you smiling. Aren't you glad to be there?? Bobby's got it down, why don't you??
Bobby have screed my knees I've bent my joints never mind man you don't have to come or not it doesn't matter but I would like to definitely write a song with you because I think I got something that well I don't need you anyways never mind
Amazing. This record set the bar so high it's never been matched.
Bobby’s got one of the best rock and soul voices ever. It’s not something that can be learned or taught or practiced. It’s a feeling that you’re born with and never goes away.
If I could write just ONE song this good I'd be a happy man. ❤ Fine performance too, and I always love Bobby's stories. 🎉
One of the best songs on the album! In fact this was back in the day when almost every song was awesome! Thank you Bobby, thank you Co Co!
