Just a few years ago in the US Kia had the identity of a cheap budget brand with a hideous logo. I’ve been saying for years that they need to get rid of that logo, and when they finally did they had already been releasing beautiful new designs for a few years. Kia is finally becoming more and more of a respectable, sought after brand that exudes confidence and high quality.

The design is super unique, it's unique as the Peugeot 3008 is unique LMAO. I love KIA since I have one but when I saw it from the front, I was like... they copied 3008 lol :D

@@wooyoung2154 Thanks for your question, it is still possible to drive but only in certain states though. Here in Queensland at the moment we can travel anywhere in Queensland. Other states like New South Wales and Victoria where they are in lockdown no you can’t drive anywhere you want, only allowed to go get groceries, medical supplies, go to the doctor etc.
if anyone comes over the border from NSW or Victoria they have to go into Quarantine for 14 days if they are allowed in. Queensland have brought in the army to help the police stop people trying to cross into our borders illegally. Pretty full on, never been like this before!

I love the flat matte! I've always thought it would look great on a car and that it does. Some idiot just totaled my 2015 Sedona and I've got a 2018 Sportage as a rental. It's nice but it's a bit too small for me. This however looks baaaad asss! I'm about to buy a black 2022 Sorento hybird... wish I could get it in matte. Kia is killing it on the design front. I never thought I'd buy a Kia (let alone brand new) and now I'm on my 3rd. My wife drives a 2019 Niro. We're Kia fans!
Never had the opportunity to own a Kia yet, but god that EV6 was very tempting 🚀
@@CarSceneKorea, oh yes, the EV6 is very tempting. If it weren't for my two growing boys I would have absolutely waited for the EV6. But I need a family vehicle so it's the Sorento for now. But one of these days I'll be looking for something smaller. Interested to see where we're at in 10 years.

wow, Wow, WOW!! Love this new Sportage! If Kia puts out Hybrid and PHEV versions of this vehicle with AWD, they will have a sure winner that will smoke their competitors.
If that's the case, Sorento is going to be in a very tough spot 😱
They'd better bring the matt shadow gray to their other cars as well, because that color would be my choice.

I have A 2022 Stinger GT2 and a 2022 Nero EV EX premium. Both of the around 55 k and i wish i had an option for this color. Sucks

видел два турбо 2 литровых спортажа. и у обоих моторы были на выброс на смешном пробеге.

I so envy you guys that you get to have the LWB version. We in Europe can only buy the SWB one, which in my opinion seems to be unfinished in the C-pillar area. I'd buy the LWB Sportage in a heartbeat.

I have s 2019 kia sportage 1.6 gdi petrol in uk on pcp finance for 4 years and was going to pay off the balloon payment at the end and keep the car, now ive seen this 2022 kia sportage i want one of these once my pcp contract is up, absolutely stunning car, be interesting to see what engine options, trim levels and colours come to the uk, exciting stuff, great video on this new kia sportage has made my mind up cheers 👌👌👍👍

Any idea about time needed for 0-100km/h with this gasoil engine (150cv?) ?
The numbers are 8, 9 and 10. 0 to 100 km/h: 8 sec for HEV, 9 sec for Diesel, 10 sec for Gasoline. Thanks for the compliment, comments like yours mean a lot, thx!

I just got one of these, but without that ShadowMatte color...I decided to go with Gravity Gray since I read some reviews regarding the quality & longevity of the Matte color over the long run.
Matte colors sure do need a bit more attention than regular colors, so good choice!

This is Shadow Gray Matte. I'd go with petrol over diesel any time unless there's a definitive reason to go with diesel.

I would like to see matte wheel trim along with matte on the outside of bottom side doors since that gloss gets too dirty in Colorado, it would be a pain to always keep clean with the gloss trim on those winter months. I hope you have an option for mud flaps to protect the corner wheel rims from splashing onto a gloss bottom trim door panel. LOL BUT I DIGRESS. Love the LOOK 👀 very NICE❣️😎

That could differ from a country to another, so think it'd be better you check with the local dealership! Korea offers the feature in all types of engines, just gotta pick a right trim that's all.

Hi.. have you test driven 1.6L Petrol vs 2.0L Diesel? Any thoughts on whether Diesel is more powerful / better than Petrol, in terms of pick up, handling etc?
I didn't drive diesel, but I drove HEV. From the information I get, diesel def is more easier and powerful to drive compared to 1.6T. The gasoline has no advantage over other engines, except for the price. Honestly, HEV seems to be the best choice for Sportage given the drive, but there's the price that always holds us back 😥

The problem with the gloss cladding is it will become easily scratched from road grit, snow slush and the like…very impractical and will look bad in a short period of time.
As an aside, I’m pretty sure this vehicle will mark the death knell for the Sorento.
At this point, it could be! That's why I can't wait to see what Kia would bring out with new Sorento 😎

Can you explain the rotary shifting ? What if during driving at least over 5 miles per hour and you mistakenly shift it to reverse. , is it possible or the car will automatically recognize driving mode To prevent such thing

It simply won't go anywhere near Reverse, alarm either saying to slow down or need to be in a complete stop will pop up. It's completely shift by wire type, so there is no mechanical damage done to the vehicle whatsoever. The worst it will do is go in Neutral which is something that needs to be done for some uncommon situations.
It's a shame that Hyundai and Kia are ditching their diesel power units. The price of petrol is high in the UK, and the petrol MPG is poor due to the vehicle size :(
Even the Tucson Hybrid (yet to be released here) gives poor MPG for a hybrid.
True, no match to a diesel. However the globe is now shifting towards EV's, think we won't be seeing these ICE quite soon 😥

Depends on where you are, but hopefully by mid 2022, this model Sportage would be available globally.
Last generation GT has IPAS (Intelligent Park Assist System). This one has only has remote forward and back?

Interesting that the sheet metal seems more stylist on the Sportage, Tucson and Elantra than it is on the higher models.
