Watch the Full Captain Guide Playlist here: th-cam.com/play/PLiBtcHtdkvJZk7OhLVf9o7qzIgXywZEID.html Apologies for the lack of editing, I unfortunately don't have the time to do more and I haven't found an editor yet 😭I hope you can still enjoy the content that is the best I can offer at this time, and I'll do my best to improve this series moving forward 🫶
as a captain leader I was able to make the member of my team agree for a common goal, they believe in me bc they know I always tell the truth and I have no fear to speak up when needed but I still struggle communicating to unknown ppl (participate on tournaments and scrims r hard for me and it took time for example to vc and talk to other ppl in English which is not my native language, and rn I'm the guy to fulfil the role of captain also bc I can speak english) still learning tho and this vid is just a motivation boost bc what I'm doing its not totally wrong, I just need more committment and everything will work out
Very happy to see you posting to TH-cam, Kale! The slideshow-style editing looks great and the way you present information is concise and well paced. (You’ve gotta be the inkbrush main representative on YT! I don’t think we have anyone else haha)
this was a very interesting video to watch. I personally used to drift teams a lot, I had 3 teams I was on before my current team that all barely lasted a month that I always got fed up with because it felt like nobody else was really interested in improving or taking the time to really be comp players and do scrims and tournaments. Eventually, my girlfriend got me to try IDTGA and the pick up I got put with finally gave me that feeling of having people that wanted to improve in the same way I did, so after the IDTGA ended, we formed a team. We just finished up our first LUTI earlier this year, we placed around bottom of DIV 8, but we put up an intense fight against everyone we went against, so I'm hoping with a bit more practice we can earn our way into DIV 7 by next LUTI. Learning about captaining is really fun, I used to co-captain for my old teams, since I've always felt super comfortable just trying to help coordinate, as well as being one of the only other particularly confident players, but it is nice to understand more of the actual effort and care my captain has to put into what they do.
NO WAY I JUST FINISHED SETTING UP MY TEAM AND THIS POPPED UP IN MY RECOMMENDED. I've been working on creating a competitive team for about a month and I am so thankful you've created a guide! I'll definitely be following the entire guide as I approach my first team meeting in a few weeks! Thank you for creating a guide!
This is a really good Series I used to be Captain of a Team but it’s not easy being one, your guide series looks really helpful for learning how to be a better team leader keep it up! ❤
It’s an honor to meet another Inkbrush main as I’m also a Vanilla Inkbrush main. This video and the others after it have inspired me to try to create a team, become a captain, and have a good time. Though those things never happened yet but I’m still trying my best.
LETS GO INKBRUSH MAIN!!! You can do it! If you ever have any questions(about team stuff or inkbrush tips) feel free to reach out and I'll be looking forward to your journey into comp!
Gonna be honest here: i wanted to get into competitive Splatoon and actually found this video thanks to the latest vid of the guide, even if i'm not exactly planning to create my team
I just started a team and was made captain. This is a really nice vid and I believe that I'm doing well so far as captain. Haven't played in any tournaments but our team is planning on it
Keep it up! Good luck in your future tourneys! And if you ever need it, perhaps my upcoming vid on them will help you guys know what to expect and how to approach them 🫡
Nice vid! Just looking at some of these future topics makes me wish this was out before I made a team. As a current captain, I've really been trying my best and I'll be interested in seeing when you start covering areas where I've gone wrong or are currently struggling with.
For all these many years in the Splatoon community, I did not know that there were team captains (like, I did not know at all and did not think that they should be in this game). However, after listening to the full video, I realized that the Captain is not just a commander, but a real leader and comrade who should help his team at any moment. I never thought of becoming one, but if I become one, I will do everything possible to make the team the best.
Yo, this whole playlist is so well-timed as I'm about to tryout 2 potential members with my friend 😂😂😂 I'm low S rank and while we were just planning to dabble in competitive in our pace and made that clear in the recruitment post, it's still intimidating getting applicants that are mid/high S with some competitive experience while we barely have exp 😂😂😂 Gotta be a strong captain for my team… Thanks for making this series!!
thank you for the vidieo! I have been a team cap for half a year now trying to build a team. It was always a bit of struggle tryout here tryout that. Blue (muh friend) just constantly being the most silly but nerv racking goblin.. yeah. It gone so far that I programmed a discord bot for team manegement😅. With a team of 4 now ready to go, I will need to be as good of a captain as I possibly can. Thx for your videos ❤
Do you know if subs are still being sought after or are they only an afterthought? I want to join a competitive team but it’s hard to find a team I could get along with and I haven’t competed in more than four years. Great video BTW. Keep up the good work. 👍
Subs are definitely still sought out! A lot of times teams will have a bunch they have at hand in case of emergencies like a teammate sleeping in or wifi trouble. If you're around during their scrim, you can always hop in when they ask for help. If you're subbing in for a tourney, make sure you're added to their battlefy and you include your splashtag to not get in trouble 🙏 Take your time to find your dedicated team ^^ If you grow your consistency as a sub, the team might recruit you or recommend teams for you to tryout for! Don't worry about your lack of comp, it's a new game and you have plenty of time to learn 👍
80% of it is making sure these fuckers aren’t rage squidbagging in my experience- tho we don’t have a proper “captain” or leader, I’ve taken the role as a sort of strategist so it works out lmao
Translated by Google: Being a captain in team-based games is really difficult as it comes with a lot of responsibilities. And another problem is the issue of communication, what problem is it? Well, the problem is that the language matters a lot if someone does not speak the same language because my native language is Spanish and not English and surely those who match me are 80% English and 20% Japanese. Today I am not interested in competing in team-based games or being a captain, because I prefer to stick better with my multiplayer racing games like Rocket Racing, Forza Motorsport, The Crew Motorfest, Forza Horizon etc because you don't need communication because It doesn't matter, you don't need strategies and you don't need to take responsibility for anything.

Oh hell ya a brush main! I used to play inkbrush almost exclusively, but lately I've been more in the slosher class (tri nouveau and vslosher).
I love inkbrush!! I'll never main anything else xD
Now I'm really excited to see how my school's splatoon comp team will go!
Holy banger :o I rlly like this style of video and it was really informative can’t wait to see more from you!
Thank you so much!! I really appreciate it 🥺
From this one video I feel like I learned so much already. I will definitely be taking notes and asking questions when streams take place.
I'm so glad to hear that!! This was just the intro so you're definitely in for a lot!

Don't be discouraged! I became a captain without having played splat 1 or 2, and with 20 hours in splat 3 LMAO
