    Hi Jen, I very much enjoyed watching your video. I'm waiting for a date for my gastric sleeve surgery, but the one thing that worries me a LOT is if I'm going to continue to feel the intense hunger I do now.. Can I ask please how your appetite has been affected and whether the food you now eat satiates you? Thank you from the UK 😊

    • @vsgathlete
      @vsgathlete  5 หลายเดือนก่อน

      Hello Emmy!🤗 Thank you for watching and reaching out. I used to feel incredibly hungry before surgery as well. Post-VSG is a different feeling. I felt a little bit hungry but after I ate (the tiniest amount), I was Done. Like my brain wasn’t even interested in bringing my fork to my mouth. It’s definitely something to get used to. As for the food nowadays, yes it feeds/fuels me to the best of its ability. The protein and fiber rich foods keep me feeling full for a long time and with the amount of water I need to drink every day, I have very little wiggle room to indulge in foods that don’t benefit my body anymore. During the holiday season I did snack on more sweets than needed and I absolutely felt the difference. Sluggish, always hungry, and NOT my best. I had to rein it in because it felt like I was headed down my pre-surgery eating path annnnd I gained some weight during that time. Once I got back on track, I felt amazing again! I eat VERY LITTLE starchy carbs so that is a huge benefit. Thank you for asking such a great question! Sending 💫Good Vibes💫 for a quick surgery date! *sidenote* I would Love to visit the UK one day.😍You all are so nice!💙

    How’s the hair loss? Worst thing to experience after the surgery? How do you manage avoiding dehydration?

    • @vsgathlete
      @vsgathlete  6 หลายเดือนก่อน +3

      Great questions! So I didn’t really experience hair loss because I’ve shaved my head since 2020. It was still growing in thick after the surgery and even more so now. Hmmm….worst physical thing for me right after surgery was nausea. I’m not a fan. lol. But that was incredibly short lived. As for Hydration…I’m constantly drinking water, decaf tea, and Electrolytes. I just ran 16 miles on Saturday then 12.5 on Monday and all is still comin out clear.👍🏼 Happy New Year!🎊

      I had heavy cycles for years. . . . .long before VSG. It was so uncomfortable and kept me from doing a lot of things. Since I already had my two babies, I chose to have an Endometrial Ablation about nine years ago. It was a great decision for me and my cycles have been "normal/light" ever since. I hope yours have mellowed out over time.

      No regrets. I wish I would have spoke up and done it sooner. But, everything happens in its own time. Our bodies get used to the amount we eat. If we remain consistent, all should be ok. If we overeat, the weight will come back. If we don’t eat enough, we’ll get sickly.
