This mans reaction was one of a humble man who just made his and possibly his families future a whole lot more comfortable. At no point did anyone appear awkward and he certainly didn't. Its not often I get genuinely happy for other people but this was a moment of pure joy and it made me smile.

The woman stated that her husband had refinished it a few years prior. The appraiser informed the woman, the piece, theoretically, could've been owned by one of the Founding Fathers, and was worth $17,000 USD, but had her husband not refinished it, it would have been worth $200,000 - $300,000 USD. Needless to say, she was quite disappointed with the husband.
I love jewellery expert Geoffrey Munn. Such love and knowledge of jewellery. When he does his appraisals he loves to tease the owner. Imagine him choosing a piece of jewellery for you; it would have exactly the right meaning. That gent with the ring was genuinely overcome. One with a Tiny stone sold at aution for £20,000 so, comparative size would help ?
The MOST awkward moment was when someone was informed that a violin and a painting they had, were by Rembrandt & Stradivarius.
Then they were told, "Unfortunately, Stradivarius was rubbish at painting, and Rembrandt...................."
Guaranteed the person who titled this "awkward" came from money.
