I can relate. Found old tools, craftsman wrench, tire iron, battery, tires, and all manner of plastic. Please leave your property in better shape than you found it. Don't bury your garbage.
At 14:25 the display of Mike's use of the box blade is why I like to use one in conjunction with a loader if you hit a stump with a loader it stresses the tractor and if you do things like this often it takes a toll over time but but the box blade puts overall less stress on the tractor compared to the loader although full disclosure I've never used a hydrostatic drive tractor and have never had a tractor newer than 1978 so all gear drive.
Way to work through it, brother. I was very impressed by both your patience and the durability of Vinnie. What an impressive machine! That stump grinder was amazing!
You did very well Brother. Even the part you questioned about running up hill. Gravity makes a good friend or a terrible foe. Even when you can run up hill, you put more strain and ware on your equipment than you need to. God bless you and yours.
I picked up an old horse shoe with a Ventrac trencher a few years ago. It took some work to get it un-stuck from the trencher but I eventually did and kept on trenching - no damage. Other than that and working around huge rocks, that project went great. Enjoyed the video! Thanks for sharing!
I love how ventrac has a system to attach implements on the back. Though you can not use all implements on the back, you can use it for transport or ballast. (as Tim very much stresses use of)
I live on a very old farm property and this is how people used to deal with trash. Ive found some ancient stuff burried around the property. My favorite is the old glass dump
💥 What a horrible trenching ordeal with all that trash! Good of you to stick with the task at hand to get the job done. Looking forward to seeing that new canopy! Keep on tractoring!
Looked like the stump grinder work great. You a the ventrac got a work out in the old trash dump. I thought you were going to have to get the backhoe out there for a minute. Great video as always.
looks like you hit a spot where someone in the pst dug a hole and buried a pile of junk in it. reminds me when my neighbor and I was building his house we hit a spot where we pulled out a couch, a furnace, and other stuff. that spot looks like a job for casey, or johnny
That mirror was a really clever idea, and I wish I had something like that when I was running stump-grinder attachments, but I think it would be somewhat better if they closed off the enclosure with some wire mesh (like what you would see on a logging-helmet visor) so that mirror doesn't get all tarnished up by wayward chips. It wouldn't reduce visibility by much, and it would make that mirror last so much longer.
Wood chips don’t seem to fly up toward the mirror much. It does get dusty. I’m afraid any mesh would make it harder to see. The mirror already makes it tricky.
What a nasty trash dump! Vinny is really versatile! The mirror on the grinder is very useful. I saw a Vinny mowing on the side of the interstate today.
Depending on your state, 811 calls expire, if they missed something it can be on you if the duration has passed, always renew them until your finished digging.
Did you use perforated or solid field tile? if it was perforated you might come back and watch for all those tree roots. I've found anywhere by a tree perforated tile will plug with roots pretty quickly.
They should make some sort of blower attachment that can be hooked on with the stump grinder that would blow away the debris while is being ground. Or even a screw that would clear away the debris like what was on the trench digger so you can see whats under it easier.
Never would have thought there was so much junk under his lawn. Have you ever thought of using a metal detector to go over the area you would be digging or trenching? Thanks for sharing!
I have a trenching business. Something we always strive to do is trench downhill. Makes the job way easier. You were considering going up the hill, I would not suggest doing that. Another tip is go VERY slow over roots when you feel them, allow the trencher to cut them, going too fast will choke out the motor. Good vid!
thanks for the vid. whats the weirdest thing you ever dug up? i once dug up a quartz crystal size of a soft ball whit my craftsman and a spring tooth cultivator. and pliers, horse shoes, RR Spikes, and other tools whit the troy bilt.
Hey Tim its dean, the macallister apprentice. I think I spotted your big red truck the other day at an undisclosed location in Indiana lol. I just wanted to say keep up the great work
The problem was likely a building that was torn down and pushed into its former basement. This was the very reason I told my contractor to remove and haul off all of the building, walls, foundation and piping from a house I had tore down when I purchased the lot next to mine..
Tim you never dig trench in our garden as old outside toilets concrete & bricks was buried in garden that why we have trouble digging in garden at our first house the next door neighbor buried his old Car in Garden my Mum said so if anyone tried dig trench with Ventrac they get a Suprise if hit Engine
Nice video, really my cup o' tea. That trencher (or ditch witch) really seemed to do the job. Do you think the 1025r with the narrow bucket backhoe could have worked through the trash heap and roots better?
Now Tim, Vinnie is one awesome piece of equipment. If someone was to purchase a Vinnie what options would you suggest that would be a must to get? With that and my 1025R, I might even start a small business in my area. There's a need.
I like the aeravator/seeder, the power rake, and the stump grinder. These items can make lots of money, as they do jobs all suburban customers need, and that the 1025r doesn't do easily. The tough cut is next in line.
Had to laugh. My house was build in 1895. There is a spot in the back yard than whenever we dig we car parts. Pistons, connecting rods, door handles. Like someone buried an entire car back there. Around here people buried their garbage back in the day, so old bottles are often found. No tin roof like on your job though. Also, the previous video with Ventrac and that power rake I think you called it, WOW, that works nice. I assume the grass you planted was that turf type tall fescue that you mentioned last year?
Tim, what the heck is all them wet looking spots on your T-shirt? Did Christy throw water on you? LOL What a mess with all the buried treasure, but you got through it. The Ventrac keeps on impressing me. Thanks for the video.
hi Tim just wondering if you buy your attachments for your ventrac or if they rent them if I was a young man into mowing and landscaping and doing other work that's the machine to have with all the different attachments
Every body has their own preferences, but I think if you spent some time with a box blade that had top and side tilt it wouldn't be long till you maybe at least added one to your must bring to a job list. It MUST have hydraulic top and side tilt to be worth while in my opinion
Would your Deere with the narrow excavator bucket allowed you to dig a straighter trence and then be able to use schedule 35 PVC pipe? When I put 1,400' on drainage pipe on my last property after a surprise flash flash flood, I did this AND TOOK PICTURES SO I COULD FIND THE OUTLETS. A little OCD there, but when I went to put in a berm, it allowed me to have a 10 yd. dump truck run over it. The contractor was a good teacher.
Top of a bomb shelter ?!? Go to love it - likely a big burn fire or a building fire... Wow what issues. My 1025 tilled through a brick pile. Man talk about jarring a jaw bone! Looks like the old fireplace from the 150 year old Farm House that the county forced to be removed before the house was put on the property. 30 years ago - before me. From one picture it was a Beam frame like the old barns. It was two story with a pitch roof. A sawmill moved in and used it as an office. Then after 30 years moved out and sold lots to workers at the mill. Some are still alive and one has a Monster tree hauler.
Was this in Mississippi?😂 I’ve been here for over 3 years and I’m astounded at how many people just burn and bury their trash! Or they throw it in the ditch. It’s everywhere. They even tear down old mobile homes, burn them and bury the rest. Unbelievable.
The junk in the trench reminds me of a guy that barried junk from old house the built a new house next to it. One corner as he dug the foundation here comes this junk. World I'd full of junk that you can't see
I can relate. Found old tools, craftsman wrench, tire iron, battery, tires, and all manner of plastic. Please leave your property in better shape than you found it. Don't bury your garbage.
Tim, Everytime I see you use Vinny I'm more impressed. That is an amazing machine.

I love your positive attitude no matter the challenge you are facing. Keep up the great work!
Way to work through it, brother. I was very impressed by both your patience and the durability of Vinnie. What an impressive machine! That stump grinder was amazing!
Tim you have the patience of Job. I don't think I would have handled that as well as you did. Great work man. Vinnie is awesome!
Very good video. Good reminder to stay patient. The stump grinding went well too.
The best part of the smudge, was the learning experience. You could make a pre show checklist.
You did very well Brother. Even the part you questioned about running up hill. Gravity makes a good friend or a terrible foe. Even when you can run up hill, you put more strain and ware on your equipment than you need to. God bless you and yours.
Very nice job Tim. Stuff like that in the yard is something you can’t plan for, but your persistence paid off. 👍👍👍
I picked up an old horse shoe with a Ventrac trencher a few years ago. It took some work to get it un-stuck from the trencher but I eventually did and kept on trenching - no damage. Other than that and working around huge rocks, that project went great. Enjoyed the video! Thanks for sharing!

That’s awful expensive ballast.
That Ventrac is one fantastic machine! A good operator helps a lot also!
Another great video! Glad to see the stump grinder in action! Vinnie rules!!
I live on a very old farm property and this is how people used to deal with trash. Ive found some ancient stuff burried around the property. My favorite is the old glass dump
Nice job guys. Another job well done.
this was great content, commentary, great job Tractor Tim
Thanks Aaron! Neil gave you a shout out! Thanks for being a solid repeat viewer and commenter.
@@TractorTimewithTim Yes indeed, made my day and it shocked me too... now I am trying to get on and stay on your radar too.
@@aaronburford5701I think I’m gonna play hard to get!
@@TractorTimewithTim yes you are!
Cool video
Those 4100s are nice tractors
💥 What a horrible trenching ordeal with all that trash! Good of you to stick with the task at hand to get the job done. Looking forward to seeing that new canopy!
Keep on tractoring!
All part of the job and you made it work.
Great job enjoyed that, have a great day!!!!
That was an excellent display of tractor skills!! Hope y’all are doing ok. It’s HOTT in Mississippi this week.
Hi Tim and Christy nice video Tim there is village under that lawn but you did a good job
Great video
The Ventrak is amazing
Looked like the stump grinder work great. You a the ventrac got a work out in the old trash dump. I thought you were going to have to get the backhoe out there for a minute. Great video as always.
Great job brother
I agree about the box blade, I would have used the fel for sure.
It's always the last 1/4-1/10 of a project that seems to take the longest or aquire the biggest snags🤪
Tim looks just like a member of every small town Baptist Church I’ve ever been to.
that Vinny is one tough hombre!
I could just image the trash piles on my property lol . When I till up my gardens i'm always finding old tractor parts .
Awesome job!!!
I had bought a brand new 4100 back in 1999 and later I had purchased in old Steiner 420 and also restored it to new condition
looks like you hit a spot where someone in the pst dug a hole and buried a pile of junk in it. reminds me when my neighbor and I was building his house we hit a spot where we pulled out a couch, a furnace, and other stuff. that spot looks like a job for casey, or johnny

Hated not taking it...it was HOT without it!!!
We’ll get to the review episode soon. We love it!
Depending on your state, 811 calls expire, if they missed something it can be on you if the duration has passed, always renew them until your finished digging.
Yes, it would have been on us...but since nothing there, we didn’t worry about it.
Did you use perforated or solid field tile? if it was perforated you might come back and watch for all those tree roots. I've found anywhere by a tree perforated tile will plug with roots pretty quickly.
Solid

Venrtac makes it cleaner. Minum dirt out back fills easy
Never would have thought there was so much junk under his lawn. Have you ever thought of using a metal detector to go over the area you would be digging or trenching? Thanks for sharing!
I would take a paint marker and on top of the stump grinder write (R>) and (
Good video!
Great points and also, the sound quality with your mic system is sounding a lot better lately!
Hi guys looks like you hit the land fill.
with ya on the front end loader.
Great video love ur vids
Nice video tim and kristie 👍 man the first 20 meters go perfect ,but al that iron ,I wonder that machine is still working 😪it most be good quality.

Hey Dean! Thanks for checking in. I need a hydraulic hose tomorrow morning, wanna make one for me??? I busted one today!
@@TractorTimewithTim I would if I could. I'm in orientation all this week. I just started yesterday

That stump grinder is awesome the trencher was awesome I can see if the back hoe was on it would have dug those things out
In my search for a tractor I just discovered TYM tractors. It seems fitting that you should own one! ;)
To keep the tool from moving try what I same on a Ventrac training vid they used a long 2×4 as a block
man I would love to have you in my area to till my lawn for my seeding project. 22,000 square feet.
I hit a bath tub, trenching my yard! Flipped the trencher.
It's amazing what people bury, I would have got sidetracked wanting to dig up that big rock and that piece of heavier steel just to see what it was.
How did the ventrac do compared to your stump blaster
Much better
Tim do you have a metal detector to verify the path is clear
Bet wish you took Johnny or CASE CX37 you could do get Narrow bucket for Case
the ventracs can addapt rear pto for front and rear
Tim you never dig trench in our garden as old outside toilets concrete & bricks was buried in garden that why we have trouble digging in garden at our first house the next door neighbor buried his old Car in Garden my Mum said so if anyone tried dig trench with Ventrac they get a Suprise if hit Engine
Tim, I think you were selling yourself short on using the stump grinder. Unless you edited out bad spots, I think you did very well.
Yea, it is a grinding machine!
Nice video, really my cup o' tea. That trencher (or ditch witch) really seemed to do the job. Do you think the 1025r with the narrow bucket backhoe could have worked through the trash heap and roots better?
Yes, backhoe would have worked better in the trash. But who is to guess???
Hi Tim, can you say how the Ventrac stump grinder compares to the many 14hp gas engine walk-behind stump grinders on the market?
I have a video with the bluebird walk behind.
There is no comparison! Vinny wins in a KO
Now Tim, Vinnie is one awesome piece of equipment. If someone was to purchase a Vinnie what options would you suggest that would be a must to get? With that and my 1025R, I might even start a small business in my area. There's a need.

when did you get vinny
hi Tim just wondering if you buy your attachments for your ventrac or if they rent them if I was a young man into mowing and landscaping and doing other work that's the machine to have with all the different attachments
Ventrac has provided the tractor and attachments for demonstration purposes.
You could buy a metal detector and do a sweep of the area where you're going to dig a trench.
Every body has their own preferences, but I think if you spent some time with a box blade that had top and side tilt it wouldn't be long till you maybe at least added one to your must bring to a job list.

nice
im in the market for a compact tractor should i get a belly mower or a brush hog
My dad would say that is like asking “should I walk to school or carry my lunch”?
Two totally different needs. One mower will not do both jobs.
Nice 4100 really nice shape for a 30 year old tractor my jd 4200 with 2700 hours is just as nice 👍
30 years? They didn't even start making them until 20 years ago.
This one is a 1997 model with about 400 hours on it now.
If you can a metal holder to prevent it from moving while hooking up the attachments would be yes and cheap
dear designer of that attachment if you ever see this video i know you are proud of that thing
Mike can operate a machine like a pro
Thanks for the nice comment!
Yep, definitely a backhoe with a trenching bucket would shine here
I wanna see how Vinny would work in Pennsylvanian dirt. Nothing but clay and rocks up there.
Dug a footing and had the same situation. We figured it was a whole building that burned and they just buried it.
Maybe use a big block of wood or a railroad tie cut in half for your ventrac "block"
Or maybe use a nearby tree....
Tim, you're finding more junk MIKE didn't want to know about.
Tim Christi Mike does the stump grinder work better than the one for Johnny
God Bless All
PaK
Former coworkers of mine hit a double basin kitchen sink, while trenching in an electric line!
Yes, Vinny’s grinder works better than Johnny’s.

I think it is a rotted out or burned barn.
Tim if you didn't tell me about the smudge I would have never noticed it!
That is good to hear. Christy worked for hours to minimize it by digitally zooming in on many of the scenes.
