@@matjobin Currently, I am trying to squeeze my 10-degree 950 fill EE Enigma into my Joey (for now). I am going to make a move for a 30-degree or 40-degree quilt in the future. Knowing that you are rocking a 30-degree bag makes me happy to know that it is totally possible to squeeze the 30-degree (950 fl) in the bag! Thanks a ton!!!
@@j.e.1967 Nice! That has to be a tight fit with a 10 degree quilt in the Joey. A 30 degree quilt is very manageable. I've been able to get my 20 degree quilt in the Joey too. Here's a look at how I like to pack my Joey for a 4 day trip with a 30 degree quilt which might help: th-cam.com/video/K4MWngVV6Nc/w-d-xo.html The Joey in the video link above is the updated pack that is currently available on their website. I find it to be slightly smaller than the Joey I have featured in the video with these comments. You can take a look at a comparison between the two here if you'd like: th-cam.com/video/abYQ4UupM-I/w-d-xo.html Enjoy the pack!
@@matjobin Thank you very much Mat! Another quilt question. Have you used the EE 7D fabric on the interior of your quilt, or do you know other backpackers/hikers that have used this fabric? Is this fabric worth the extra cost to save about 0.5 Oz? The EE website claims that some down loss can occur and that it is not as durable. I do want to try the fabric, but I do not know anyone who I can ask if they like it. Especially on the interior of a quilt (I am thinking it's extra soft on the skin vs 10D). Cheers!
@@j.e.1967 I have the 7D for the inside of my Torrid Apex jacket and my EE Enigma 20 with 950 fill power. The fabric feels softer than the 10D and breathes a little better, but it does require a little more care. I haven't lost any synthetic insulation in the Torrid with the 7D or the down insulation with my Enigma. I've been happy with it for my quilt and jacket. But what works for me, might not work for someone else. If you find yourself going down the UL rabbit hole, are careful with gear and have the financial means it could be worth it. If the answer is no to any of those, I feel the 10D is just as good. It will add more durability, still feel soft and save money that can be put toward other gear and backpacking trips or hikes. Hope this helps with your decision.
Matt, The pack definitely fits the GG tent without any trouble. I'm not sure about the Altaplex because I haven't used one, but it fits my Zpacks Hexamid Solo tent and groundsheet nicely. I think the Hexamid is close in size to the Altaplex when packed but I could be wrong.
Appreciate the thorough review. Subbed.
Cheers Matt, thanks! I'm loving the pack and am happy you found the video helpful.
What type of EE Quilt are you using? Is it a 30-degree 950 Fill?
I love your content!
J.E. It's a 30 degree 950 fill EE Enigma. I'm happy you enjoy the channel. Thanks for being a part of it and watching!

Thanks for watching Tina! I'm glad you enjoyed this video.
Do you think you could use the gg dcf the one with the Joey, or an altaplex?
