I know a lot people might want a scenario where Elijah stayed as Elder, but I just don't see that happening. He didn't see the his chapter as being able to keep up with him and even if he did stay I'm sure it wouldn't be long before he was relieved of duty for his blatant disregard for Brotherhood lives. Although I may cover a scenario where Elijah never left just for the sake of it. Also, a lot of people seem to think this takes places during the events of New Vegas, it doesn't. This is set years before and the battle of Hoover Dam that is shown is the first battle.
Yeah I can never see a scenario where he would stay elder at least not for long seeing what kind of man he is or would become it shows that even if he didn’t abandon the brotherhood the brotherhood would be quick to dispose him
Perhaps if they took the time to defend like you said in this vid it would give Elijah more time to figure out Helios and Archimedes. Possibly if he managed to get what he was looking for in helios he would have stayed even if it wasn't permanently.
The best part about Brotherhood winning is that it would prevent Fallout Frontier from existing because with NCR defeated in one way or another there would be no NCR Exiles and their shitty CoD campaign.

the exiles may be gone but there's still the northern legion, the crusaders of steel and the scavs who have working vehicles without the exiles, the scavs would probably get their hands on the tech the ncr would have had and set up their headquarters at the airport or somewhere else in portland and if the scavs won't get the tech, the crusaders or the legion would claim it, potentially leading to a war
I like this idea and the scenario you've laid out. The only thing I'd see going differently is the NCR being able to play nice with the BOS after Hoover Dam. All the major factions the courier encounters make it abundantly clear that the BOS need to go bc they're a huge liability. My gut instinct is that once the NCR consolidated it's control over Vegas and the Mojave, they'd turn their attention to "removing" the BOS in order to achieve a total victory in the region. Plus the weapons, armor, and tech they'd be able to loot from the BOS would be enticing for the NCR
That's the thing, Oliver wanted to exterminate the Brotherhood, but they got their hands on the securitrons while he was distracted with Hoover Dam. So he would have to deal with some of the best soldiers in the wasteland, as well as their army of kill bots. By the time the NCR annexes the region properly, the Brotherhood have done most of the work, and the public knows it, any General or politician that tried to get rid of them wouldn't have a job for that long.
One thing I really hate about bethesda not giving obsidian enough time to make the game... there is a mod that let's you, if you side with house, have 100 speech and accepted with the bos, convince Mr. House to spare them. It was apparently cut due to time constraints but I always go with that in my head cannon.
@@7DeadlyJinxs Having played the mod, having Hardin as Elder is all it takes. McNamara wouldn't ally with House and the only other option is destruction. That's pretty much it. Maybe, if it was official content, there'd be more of a reason, but the mod dev had to make do with what was there.
This makes me wish for a BoS ending, where the Courier hands Mr House army of Securitrons to Elder Hardin (since in order for that to work, Hardin needs to be the Elder), and they take Hoover Dam alongside The Courier, now a Paladin himself. Maybe even have a couple of Paladins and Knights fight Lanius with you as well, it would have been so dope man!
@@8461529 First, the east coast brotherhood isn’t evil, people are just sensitive and don’t like making hard choices when it comes to the greater good. Synths are far more dangerous then the atomic bomb and a world where they exist is even worse then anything they east coast brotherhood could do and they’re the only ones willing to actually fight the institute. Second there are different chapters of the brotherhood who follow different methods. The western brotherhood, the Mojave chapter, the east coast brotherhood, the Midwestern brotherhood etc. They are generally the good guys in pretty much every fallout game.
Wait, why would Elijah leave? I thought the whole reason he disappeared is because the Brotherhood lost the plant; it’s why he goes full schizo and runs off to the Big MT. If the Brotherhood won, he’d have all the time in the world to study and harness Archimedes II.
Because by that point, he had lost faith in the Brotherhood. He would have left as soon as the NCR attacked, because he wouldn't think they would be able to hold it. Even if they won, they were still in enemy territory, so it was only a matter of time, he certainly wouldn't think McNamara would agree to a truce.
He left before the battle was over. McNamara clearly states this. And the Paladins were questioning his decisions way before that, so Omega is right in this instance, Elijah would have left regardless if they had a chance or not.
I feel like house wouldn't get caught with his pants down like that. I'm not sure what he would do but at the very least I think he'd be able to counter the brotherhood forces from using the monorail. Also I think with the threat of the brotherhood and ncr working together which would be evident when the silver rush gets torched Benny would remain loyal out of purely survival and house would get the platinum chip. These thoughts are just off the top of my head but I think it's worth thinking about.
The Platinum Chip wouldn't be found for another few years. House is smart, but he's not omnipotent, he knew the NCR damn well wanted to takeover Vegas (and certainly could) but the Legion was keeping them from doing it, with the help of the Brotherhood, it's almost certain Oliver would get cocky and attempt to take Vegas.

However, I do have to give it to ya that you did state that the entire strike team bar two individuals died. If this did happen, the remaining BoS would not later decide to help out in Hoover since their numbers at this point would be ridiculously low. Knowing the elder, he’d have a panic attack on having led his team to a slaughter house and fall back to the bunkers
@@TheOmegaInitiative this is where i honestly cant be sure as its stated the main reason the NCR doesnt try anything against the strip being that House was aware fo the threat the NCR posed and rallied the families + his standing army ot force the minto a situation where attacking him would put them in a position where they'd get rolled by the legion. i do not beleive the BoS would change this if they encountered the NCR during or after the 1st battle for Hoover dam(as you cant expect the NCR evne bostlerered by this alliance ot leave the Dam undefended.) and this is especially questionable as House was aware of the BoS and their danger ot the point where his plan does not progress until they are eliminated.
Well... you see - the problem with Elijah and his obsession with Helios 1 is that he was lacking 1 crucial element in order to activate Archimedes The C-rangefinder. Without it - Elijah is just incapable of activating it, thus basically wasting both lives and resources
You don't necessarily need the C-rangefinder. You can still activate the ARCHIMEDES plant defense system from HELIOS One's observation deck at any time upon accessing the solar collection tower.
@@adammanalo931 true tho without it or the aiblity ot build it ARCHII is limited to a defensive grid on HELIOS itself. this would paint a massive target on the facility for all other factions especially once they realize either the limits of ARCH II or the existence of a handheld targetting mechanism with direct access to it(especially HOuse who may have had partnership deals with Poseidon energy.)
I want to know what would of happened if Elijah got HELIOS 1 working, like the courier does in game. Maybe then they could of outright beat the NCR, and gained a powerful tool for negotiations. Maybe even controlling the land and extorting Vegas for its tech.
I see that as aggravating the NCR into a full blown assault of Helios One, they would be desperate to get rid of the Brotherhood at that point, and while the NCR may not know it at first, it might become obvious that it can only be used once per day.

@@ze2492 The NCR has never been a nation to care about it's troops, and if it had to launch a larger assault which it would, and god forsake them if it's at night, then it's all but over for the BoS. It's just an improbable victory.

I think this question about the alternate history brings up an interesting lore question I can't remember an answer to off the top of my head: *Do the NCR actually know Mr House has "advanced technology"?* He has Securitrons, but I think it'd take more to convince the Brotherhood to raid the Lucky 38 than its owner having a lot of robots. Do they actually understand that House is a prewar human preserved with technology? Or do they have suspicions that somebody just took up his identity, or that he's secretly a Ghoul, or are most of them even unaware "Robert House" was the founder of RobCo? The only piece of information I can remember on this is that his obituary proudly declares he lived to 261, so it's not like he keeps this information a secret, but he's also an extremely reclusive person, so I'm honestly unsure.
I assume it would be known that hes at least the RobCo CEO, as there are presumably must be surviving documents / terminals that say as such. My guess is the brotherhood would assume that the current house (as no one knew what he looked like in new vegas) was a descendent and so along with the securitrons probably had tech... idk
I think one thing would be different, Elijah, seeing the brotherhood was winning, kept trying to get Helios to work. Then shortly after the victory he does it. He activates Archimedes II, gets the C-finder. And Annihilates.
What if the Legion won the first battle of Hoover dam? (In this scenario, the charges fail to detonate in Boulder City, and the NCR are overrun, routing them out of Vegas.)
I imagine it wouldn't be that much different than if they won during the second battle, the only difference might be if Joshua Graham rediscovers his faith and aids the NCR, though I see that being unlikely.

What i think would be a lot cooler is if elijah in this timeline was able to repurpose the Mr. Gutsys, Sentry Bots and laser turrets we faced as the player character turning the battle for the bos. In the aftermath elijah shows everyone documents of Archimedes proving he was right "couldn't let savages like the ncr have control of something as powerful as an orbital laser" being justified elijah would stay the unquestioned elder of the chapter despite the shaky victory. through elijahs genius he is able to get the prewar solar plant functioning at 95% efficiency within the few days before the ncr can mount a second larger attack. as the bos clear paths from Helios to hidden valley (their original target for dealings in the Mojave) work buzzes day and night till elijah makes a break through. High in the elevated laboratory remote control of the orbital satellite without the need for Euclid's C-Finder is established. Once the first strike is ordered the Brotherhood's recently waning technological superiority is once again solidified as it was in the days of the republic's infancy. The lasers touches down and graces camp golf first, cutting the small supply of rangers in the Mojave in half and leaving the rest leaderless with the death of Chief Hanlon. the second strike is unintentional as all physical evidence of a store once known as Mick and Ralph's is wiped from Freeside. Alerting Mr. House to the situation he accepts ncr negotiators that want to convince him to storm helios one. He knows this is his only move as bos will never accept his rule of new vegas, he fleeces the ncr for everything he can before the two new joint armies mobilize. the joint power of house and ncr roll up to the power plant looking abandoned. as they approach the never before seen security measures of the building activate as elijah and a few scribes a paladins watch dozens of securitrons are toasted in single bolts of light along along with 30 troopers being reduced to piles of ash with every strike (it super effective). The ncr's partially leather armor holds up better than the securitron's electronics but the ceaseless blasts sends whats left of both armies retreating. veronica know what she has to do in the coming weeks as she see how much enjoyment elijah is getting from his repeated use of the super weapon. even after the ncr's attempted surrender elijah keeps ordering the daily obliteration of ncr camps and bases until it becomes a death wish to step near any base or outpost fly a republic flag. with all major outpost abandoned forces retreat to the damn, the one location the brotherhood wont destroy. how does it end after this.
I was kinda hoping that Operation Sunburst would've been won via using Archimedes and the defense system, like Elijah was planning on before the Brotherhood lost to the NCR. With those under his control the NCR wouldn't stand a chance, even any disagreeing Brotherhood members would be vaporized by Elijah.
Well House has to be blind to no see this attack coming, and even worse that building is a massive tank... no chance in hell that kind of firepower would even dent the main doors...
I commented on another one of your other what if videos about what would've happened if the Legion won the first battle of Hoover Dam? I still think this would be an interesting idea to think about.
This actually works… I could easily see this happening. I would imagine once the lucky 38 and surrounding area were cleared out the brotherhood would cut ties with the NCR and disappear.
I like both the brotherhood of steel and the enclave. Both factions have their flaws and awesome power armour. Seeing the power armour on the cover of fallout is what got me into the game series.
I'm so glad that I found this channel. I love, absolutely crave to listen to your alternative histories. Alternate history might be one of my favorite videos.
I'm certainly not a brotherhood fan or one of those people who sees the BOS as one of the good guys, but I really would've appreciated if Obsidian took the Midwestern approach and made their iteration of the faction a continent-spanning, multi-special fascist technocracy with a singular motive to absorb the entirety of the United States, and a zeal so extreme that even the Legion feared them. The Brotherhood would've been much more fascinating if it remained dead in California, but thriving in the Midwestern states, having amassed so much power in the years between Elder Lyon's departure from the west coast and the events of Fallout 3, that the rest of the elders had to lie about their existence to not pose an existential threat for the rest of the faction. A "might makes right, assimilate or die" iteration of the Brotherhood taken to the logical conclusion would've been 100x more interesting than "hermits who hide in hole", and it would've given a fresh alternative to the individualistic ideals of the NCR and the strict legalism of the Legion; seeing a sentient deathclaw in power armor parrot rhetoric about paradigms that should've never concerned deathclaws in the first place, or seeing hyperintelligent remnants of the Master's army, clad in the blue logo of Maxson, having morally-decayed to the point where they act as warlords and commissars for hire would prove how dogmatic and out-of-touch with reality the Brotherhood had now become, but in a way that still poses a threat to every other faction in the wasteland.... and they're winning
My head canon is that the BOS had about 300 men in the Mojave. And maybe 10,000 across north America, mostly being non-combatants like mechanics, logistics, pilots, scribes, children. Maybe 2,000 suits of Power Armor across the continent for the BOS, supported by 6,000-8,000 Initiates and another 10k civilians. This makes sense that an important place like New Vegas would get a few hundred soldiers. And these numbers would allow for about 20-30 Brotherhood chapters across the continent
I always put the Brotherhood in the Mojave at 500 in total, 20% Troops = 100 Soldiers They're outnumbered 20 to 1 = 2.000 NCR Soldiers With the total NCR presence in the Mojave coming in at around 20.000 Soldiers
I enjoyed the scenario overall. However, I can't accept that the NCR would have betrayed House like that at that point in time. And survived the Legion. House was using New Vagas not only as an enterprise, but also as a home base for his army of Securitrons and the 5 families. Should the NCR have attacked House, especially on his home turf, he would have ensured the NCR had suffered abundant casualties. Resulting in their destruction at the Hands of the Legion. Even with the BoS helping them. This is what brought the NCR to the bargaining table in the first place.
The NCR wasn't really trying to destroy House's army, they were only trying draw them away from the Lucky 38 so the Brotherhood could finish off House and shut down the securitrons.

House was also Disgusted at the existence of the BoS and would have been completely aware of their partnership with the NCR. He forced any players who sided with him to eliminate the BoS in "The House Always Wins V".
@@Cheeky_Bandit The Legion was defeated, both canonically and in this scenario, by the demolition of Boulder City, not by a proper battle. The dam gets overrun either way, and it doesn't take an army to push a detonator button.
@@SuperGman117 Boulder City was for the first battle of the Hoover Damn. It is also canonical that House and the NCR formed their treaty prior to the battle of the Hoover Damn primarily because the NCR feared it would have suffered to many losses. Which would have left them more vulnerable to attacks by the legion. You learn all this from dialogue with Dennis Crocker. This scenario is for the second battle of the Hoover Damn. So for the NCR to attack house would be an insurmountable mistake in judgment regardless of assistance from the BoS.

I love this "what if" videos, but I think both BoS and NCR would hate each other guts after their war in California. So it wouldn't be realistic for the BOS to give up so easily Helios One power and resources to their past enemy, nor the NCR would let them have Van Graffs energy weapons and House's securitrons. With such weapons and tech, the BoS would represent a new menace on Vegas and the NCR already has to deal with Caesar. Maybe a more realistic scenario would be that the NCR avoids and/or sets a perimeter around Helios One. And maybe attempt to have a peace treaty with them where they "let each other alone". The BoS don't seem to have many motives to conquer or advance through the Mojave (nor the manpower to kick both NCR and Legion out of Vegas), so they may agree on a simple non-aggression pact with the condition that their scout parties could still search for tech on NCR territory. The BoS may also help them during the battle for the Dam but only if they think the Legion would be a worst neighbour. At the same time, though, I don't know if that single bunker/chapter can have the authorization of signing peace treaties or alliances with the NCR.
I like that FNV didn't treat the BOS as a Mary Sue. The series suffers generally from putting the BOS everywhere, bending canon whenever it needs to to make that work. F76 in particular.

The Securitron looks like one of the most feeble robotic enemies, you'd just blow the wheels off, leaving them almost useless. Although you could probably argue that anything other than a sentrybot and maybe the assaultron would be easily overcome.
There is a HoI4 mod that plays out this exact scenario lmao. Its packed with content and legit is the reason I bought the game to begin with. The Old World Blues Mod, I play it more than the base game. Imagine if Elijah was successful repealling the NCR in the Mojave, going to Big MT and the Sierra madre with all that tech with a whole brotherhood chapter, thats only a single nation there.
I feel like the Archimedes 1 plant defense system would be their best chance at surviving I mean imagine being normal soldiers and seeing a massive laser blast your forces
Suggestion for a scenario: what if the calculator and modius discovered each other, and pulled a wall-e where they grew affectionate for each other and decide to slaughter humans together
Imagine if the BOS discovered the Archimedes weapon early, and used that to win the battle at Helios One. Even if they could only use the weapon once a day, it would be one hell of a show of power. Imagine the legion's reaction to seeing a beam of blinding light strike down and obliterating Caesar on his throne, the son of Mars struck down by the wrath of Helios.
Now I'd really love to see a "What if the Courier joined Elijah?" Video. Mostly just to see the other faction's reaction to all this slate-wiping. And how the brotherhood would interact with it's former Elder
The khans: well… shit The legion: By mars have we done something wrong? Is this our punishment for our warrior ways? The fiends: *crack kid YEAH* The NCR: oh no. The BOS: wait. Is that. Elijah?! House: what the hell is the courier doing?
The only thing about this that I would change is the turning point to start this timeline in the first place. I think a situation that could easily have resulted in the Brotherhood holding onto Helios 1 could have been if they had their hands on the C-Finder ahead of time, and used the orbital laser in the defense of Helios 1
I just picture the narration of Thor and Hyperion fighting the beyonders as the Last Paladin loads up his Energy gun and just goes to town. "There was Thunder and Noise, A fight of the Gods... then there was nothing."
I want to see a what if the calculator from fallout tactics worked properly, if they did not try to divert money, if none of the “ vault “ members that occupied the facility kept their mental facility and the calculator was never corrupted, I would love to hear your outcome, and I know the game was not great but the story it self was amazing to me!
After seeing your video on how fallout should end, maybe as a dark ending, it ends where it began. In nuclear hellfire. Making the the first line “war, war never changes” fitting.
I think they would build around the Helios solar energy array in order to make a more permanent settlement. With that in mind, they opt out secrecy for growth.
Puts into question what society does the Brotherhood make. Maybe some kind of cyberpunk shit where the Novac dino has lasers, robots everywhere, and they all wear funky-looking recon armor.
This has been a great video, could you see yourself doing another video where the Brotherhood joins forces with Mr House, either before the events of FNV or during the quest where the player via cut content convince him to ally with them, where he under a contract gives them the location of technology (that he has no interest in or use for) and help with the NCR in exchange for helping to rebuild the high tech R&D with Elijah or Veronica remaining or becoming elder.
I doubt they'd shoot house. Likely demand him stand his robots down or die. House agrees to be allowed to live. Brotherhood now has genius house as it's slave in a tube
I'm surprised you didn't went with the scenario where during the battle Elijah is able to test fire the ARCHIMEDES plant defense system and wipe out the attacking NCR force. I was also wondering, did the greater amount of losses that the NCR suffered here weakened the NCR's defense of Hoover Dam.
For sure. If the NCR took more losses at Helios One, it would have caused morale issues as well as potentially losing more troops set to the Mojave as the NCR doesn't want to risk its troops. The victory over Helios One was a symbolic as well as strategic. Defeating the BoS make the NCR more powerful, and individuals will support the NCR more. Not as many troops would have been sent to the dam when they were attacked by the Legion.
What if The Institute won? Yeah, this is an ending in F4, I just wanted to know what happens other then the Institute wins and becomes dominate in Boston and the surrounsing areas
I was expecting the true battle with spears from the sun raining down on the NCR braking them and forcing a retreat. Then with power secured Elijah would continue his surch for tech taking him and the brotherhood to the Big MT and the madra. Creating a new Brotherhood that could stop the Legion and the NCR while bringing down House.
That is an excellent question. I personally don't think anything would change with the Lone Wanderer they're just another soldier for the BOS if that there's the possibility they cut off ties given the LW could potentially be allied with the Railroad/Escaped Synths or not on Earth in the Alien Spaceship trying to halt further attacks from the Zetans. Sarah is a bigger deal given she was Elder...The question is if she would willingly step down to let Arthur lead or for some reason not but that would only lead to resentment and hostility from both the Outcasts and West-Coast and a good chunk of her own forces. I believe they'd forcefully remove her. Arthur himself loved Sarah so if he was immediately placed in charge he wouldn't allow any harm to come to her...My guess is peacefully exiling her from the Brotherhood with supplies to find a life out in the Wastes somewhere.
They probably wouldn't expand much, they would stay around the same size thanks to Sarah's following of her father's ideals and /i doubt they would go to the commonwealth.
I could see the BoS turning around and pushing the NCR out of Helios One and the Mojave after pushing the Legion away from the Dam. The BoS would have the Securitrons, the Strip, the Dam, and lots of tech.
It just wouldn’t be possible for the BOS to win no matter the situation. The brotherhood has one major disadvantage. No new recruits. No way to make more armor and weapons. They logistically have no advantage except security and hiding. Eventually they will be raided by NCR patrolling and then that’s that. Outnumbered,out gunned,out supplied because they need food from outside the bunker. Reinforcing troops is all they can hope for. Once a soldier dies his equipment is taken but only one replacement for every four lost is even possible. Boston did recruit outside and they survived and got stronger and even made the airship. Eventually there will only be one person left if not discovered and raided.

How realistic is it that the Brotherhood would not only cede dangerous technology but also assist another faction in using it? Isn't their whole thing that they don't play well with others? Would it not be more likely that they would destroy then withdraw from Helios One?
This is a very believable scenario and it could even pass as canon, but I think the NCR forming an alliance with the BOS after such a bloody and devastating defeat during the Battle for HELIOS One is a huge stretch. The NCR won't just forget that the BOS killed potentially hundreds of their soldiers. They would be more likely to accept a truce _before_ the commencement of the battle.
@@TheOmegaInitiative Yes, the BOS would only be defending themselves, but the NCR wouldn't care either way. They lost the battle, and their commanders would want heads to roll. With people like Colonel Moore-who view their mission as righteous and morally justified-in command, they wouldn't care about who shot first; they'll want payback, one way or another.
The paladin who enters the silver rush uses the guise of buying weapons to sneak in. He immediately lays his eyes upon a very powerful gatling laser named brittle spite, which he requests that he may take it into the bathroom to inspect it. Which is obliged by the guards at the silver rush, each to his own and its a lucrative sale. Whereupon the paladin exits gattling laser blazing. What a ruse!
I would wish for multiple endings of minor faction winning in the second battle of the hoover dam (like the power gangers, fiends, maybe even the brotherhood)
The powder gangers would probably accidentally flood the Mojave because dynamite hitting support beams. Fiends would basically be caeser and the wild card ending combined into basically complete anarchy. Truely no gods and no masters. Only chems

I like this idea and the scenario you've laid out. The only thing I'd see going differently is the NCR being able to play nice with the BOS after Hoover Dam. All the major factions the courier encounters make it abundantly clear that the BOS need to go bc they're a huge liability. My gut instinct is that once the NCR consolidated it's control over Vegas and the Mojave, they'd turn their attention to "removing" the BOS in order to achieve a total victory in the region. Plus the weapons, armor, and tech they'd be able to loot from the BOS would be enticing for the NCR
That's the thing, Oliver wanted to exterminate the Brotherhood, but they got their hands on the securitrons while he was distracted with Hoover Dam. So he would have to deal with some of the best soldiers in the wasteland, as well as their army of kill bots. By the time the NCR annexes the region properly, the Brotherhood have done most of the work, and the public knows it, any General or politician that tried to get rid of them wouldn't have a job for that long.

One thing I really hate about bethesda not giving obsidian enough time to make the game... there is a mod that let's you, if you side with house, have 100 speech and accepted with the bos, convince Mr. House to spare them. It was apparently cut due to time constraints but I always go with that in my head cannon.

This makes me wish for a BoS ending, where the Courier hands Mr House army of Securitrons to Elder Hardin (since in order for that to work, Hardin needs to be the Elder), and they take Hoover Dam alongside The Courier, now a Paladin himself. Maybe even have a couple of Paladins and Knights fight Lanius with you as well, it would have been so dope man!

@@8461529 First, the east coast brotherhood isn’t evil, people are just sensitive and don’t like making hard choices when it comes to the greater good. Synths are far more dangerous then the atomic bomb and a world where they exist is even worse then anything they east coast brotherhood could do and they’re the only ones willing to actually fight the institute. Second there are different chapters of the brotherhood who follow different methods. The western brotherhood, the Mojave chapter, the east coast brotherhood, the Midwestern brotherhood etc. They are generally the good guys in pretty much every fallout game.

Because by that point, he had lost faith in the Brotherhood. He would have left as soon as the NCR attacked, because he wouldn't think they would be able to hold it. Even if they won, they were still in enemy territory, so it was only a matter of time, he certainly wouldn't think McNamara would agree to a truce.
He left before the battle was over. McNamara clearly states this. And the Paladins were questioning his decisions way before that, so Omega is right in this instance, Elijah would have left regardless if they had a chance or not.

I feel like house wouldn't get caught with his pants down like that. I'm not sure what he would do but at the very least I think he'd be able to counter the brotherhood forces from using the monorail. Also I think with the threat of the brotherhood and ncr working together which would be evident when the silver rush gets torched Benny would remain loyal out of purely survival and house would get the platinum chip. These thoughts are just off the top of my head but I think it's worth thinking about.

The Platinum Chip wouldn't be found for another few years. House is smart, but he's not omnipotent, he knew the NCR damn well wanted to takeover Vegas (and certainly could) but the Legion was keeping them from doing it, with the help of the Brotherhood, it's almost certain Oliver would get cocky and attempt to take Vegas.

Well... you see - the problem with Elijah and his obsession with Helios 1 is that he was lacking 1 crucial element in order to activate Archimedes

You don't necessarily need the C-rangefinder. You can still activate the ARCHIMEDES plant defense system from HELIOS One's observation deck at any time upon accessing the solar collection tower.

this would paint a massive target on the facility for all other factions especially once they realize either the limits of ARCH II or the existence of a handheld targetting mechanism with direct access to it(especially HOuse who may have had partnership deals with Poseidon energy.)
I want to know what would of happened if Elijah got HELIOS 1 working, like the courier does in game. Maybe then they could of outright beat the NCR, and gained a powerful tool for negotiations.

I see that as aggravating the NCR into a full blown assault of Helios One, they would be desperate to get rid of the Brotherhood at that point, and while the NCR may not know it at first, it might become obvious that it can only be used once per day.

I think this question about the alternate history brings up an interesting lore question I can't remember an answer to off the top of my head: *Do the NCR actually know Mr House has "advanced technology"?*
He has Securitrons, but I think it'd take more to convince the Brotherhood to raid the Lucky 38 than its owner having a lot of robots. Do they actually understand that House is a prewar human preserved with technology? Or do they have suspicions that somebody just took up his identity, or that he's secretly a Ghoul, or are most of them even unaware "Robert House" was the founder of RobCo?
The only piece of information I can remember on this is that his obituary proudly declares he lived to 261, so it's not like he keeps this information a secret, but he's also an extremely reclusive person, so I'm honestly unsure.
Do they have to know? The NCR, just like people in real life, can lie to make people do what they want. Where were those WMDs in Iraq?
I assume it would be known that hes at least the RobCo CEO, as there are presumably must be surviving documents / terminals that say as such. My guess is the brotherhood would assume that the current house (as no one knew what he looked like in new vegas) was a descendent and so along with the securitrons probably had tech... idk

Elijah, seeing the brotherhood was winning, kept trying to get Helios to work. Then shortly after the victory he does it. He activates Archimedes II, gets the C-finder. And Annihilates.
What if the Legion won the first battle of Hoover dam? (In this scenario, the charges fail to detonate in Boulder City, and the NCR are overrun, routing them out of Vegas.)
I imagine it wouldn't be that much different than if they won during the second battle, the only difference might be if Joshua Graham rediscovers his faith and aids the NCR, though I see that being unlikely.

What i think would be a lot cooler is if elijah in this timeline was able to repurpose the Mr. Gutsys, Sentry Bots and laser turrets we faced as the player character turning the battle for the bos. In the aftermath elijah shows everyone documents of Archimedes proving he was right "couldn't let savages like the ncr have control of something as powerful as an orbital laser" being justified elijah would stay the unquestioned elder of the chapter despite the shaky victory. through elijahs genius he is able to get the prewar solar plant functioning at 95% efficiency within the few days before the ncr can mount a second larger attack. as the bos clear paths from Helios to hidden valley (their original target for dealings in the Mojave) work buzzes day and night till elijah makes a break through. High in the elevated laboratory remote control of the orbital satellite without the need for Euclid's C-Finder is established. Once the first strike is ordered the Brotherhood's recently waning technological superiority is once again solidified as it was in the days of the republic's infancy. The lasers touches down and graces camp golf first, cutting the small supply of rangers in the Mojave in half and leaving the rest leaderless with the death of Chief Hanlon. the second strike is unintentional as all physical evidence of a store once known as Mick and Ralph's is wiped from Freeside. Alerting Mr. House to the situation he accepts ncr negotiators that want to convince him to storm helios one. He knows this is his only move as bos will never accept his rule of new vegas, he fleeces the ncr for everything he can before the two new joint armies mobilize. the joint power of house and ncr roll up to the power plant looking abandoned. as they approach the never before seen security measures of the building activate as elijah and a few scribes a paladins watch dozens of securitrons are toasted in single bolts of light along along with 30 troopers being reduced to piles of ash with every strike (it super effective). The ncr's partially leather armor holds up better than the securitron's electronics but the ceaseless blasts sends whats left of both armies retreating. veronica know what she has to do in the coming weeks as she see how much enjoyment elijah is getting from his repeated use of the super weapon. even after the ncr's attempted surrender elijah keeps ordering the daily obliteration of ncr camps and bases until it becomes a death wish to step near any base or outpost fly a republic flag. with all major outpost abandoned forces retreat to the damn, the one location the brotherhood wont destroy. how does it end after this.
I was kinda hoping that Operation Sunburst would've been won via using Archimedes and the defense system, like Elijah was planning on before the Brotherhood lost to the NCR. With those under his control the NCR wouldn't stand a chance, even any disagreeing Brotherhood members would be vaporized by Elijah.
Well House has to be blind to no see this attack coming, and even worse that building is a massive tank... no chance in hell that kind of firepower would even dent the main doors...

This actually works… I could easily see this happening. I would imagine once the lucky 38 and surrounding area were cleared out the brotherhood would cut ties with the NCR and disappear.
I like both the brotherhood of steel and the enclave. Both factions have their flaws and awesome power armour. Seeing the power armour on the cover of fallout is what got me into the game series.
I'm so glad that I found this channel. I love, absolutely crave to listen to your alternative histories. Alternate history might be one of my favorite videos.
I'm certainly not a brotherhood fan or one of those people who sees the BOS as one of the good guys, but I really would've appreciated if Obsidian took the Midwestern approach and made their iteration of the faction a continent-spanning, multi-special fascist technocracy with a singular motive to absorb the entirety of the United States, and a zeal so extreme that even the Legion feared them. The Brotherhood would've been much more fascinating if it remained dead in California, but thriving in the Midwestern states, having amassed so much power in the years between Elder Lyon's departure from the west coast and the events of Fallout 3, that the rest of the elders had to lie about their existence to not pose an existential threat for the rest of the faction. A "might makes right, assimilate or die" iteration of the Brotherhood taken to the logical conclusion would've been 100x more interesting than "hermits who hide in hole", and it would've given a fresh alternative to the individualistic ideals of the NCR and the strict legalism of the Legion; seeing a sentient deathclaw in power armor parrot rhetoric about paradigms that should've never concerned deathclaws in the first place, or seeing hyperintelligent remnants of the Master's army, clad in the blue logo of Maxson, having morally-decayed to the point where they act as warlords and commissars for hire would prove how dogmatic and out-of-touch with reality the Brotherhood had now become, but in a way that still poses a threat to every other faction in the wasteland.... and they're winning
My head canon is that the BOS had about 300 men in the Mojave. And maybe 10,000 across north America, mostly being non-combatants like mechanics, logistics, pilots, scribes, children.
Maybe 2,000 suits of Power Armor across the continent for the BOS, supported by 6,000-8,000 Initiates and another 10k civilians.
This makes sense that an important place like New Vegas would get a few hundred soldiers. And these numbers would allow for about 20-30 Brotherhood chapters across the continent
I always put the Brotherhood in the Mojave at 500 in total, 20% Troops = 100 Soldiers
They're outnumbered 20 to 1 = 2.000 NCR Soldiers
With the total NCR presence in the Mojave coming in at around 20.000 Soldiers
I enjoyed the scenario overall.
However, I can't accept that the NCR would have betrayed House like that at that point in time. And survived the Legion.
House was using New Vagas not only as an enterprise, but also as a home base for his army of Securitrons and the 5 families.
Should the NCR have attacked House, especially on his home turf, he would have ensured the NCR had suffered abundant casualties.
Resulting in their destruction at the Hands of the Legion. Even with the BoS helping them.
This is what brought the NCR to the bargaining table in the first place.
The NCR wasn't really trying to destroy House's army, they were only trying draw them away from the Lucky 38 so the Brotherhood could finish off House and shut down the securitrons.

House was also Disgusted at the existence of the BoS and would have been completely aware of their partnership with the NCR.

Boulder City was for the first battle of the Hoover Damn.
It is also canonical that House and the NCR formed their treaty prior to the battle of the Hoover Damn primarily because the NCR feared it would have suffered to many losses.
Which would have left them more vulnerable to attacks by the legion. You learn all this from dialogue with Dennis Crocker.
This scenario is for the second battle of the Hoover Damn. So for the NCR to attack house would be an insurmountable mistake in judgment regardless of assistance from the BoS.

The most unrealistic part of this is Oliver being competent.
But then Colonel Autumn appeared out of nowhere and the great Brotherhood/NCR-Enclave war began.
I love this "what if" videos, but I think both BoS and NCR would hate each other guts after their war in California. So it wouldn't be realistic for the BOS to give up so easily Helios One power and resources to their past enemy, nor the NCR would let them have Van Graffs energy weapons and House's securitrons. With such weapons and tech, the BoS would represent a new menace on Vegas and the NCR already has to deal with Caesar.
Maybe a more realistic scenario would be that the NCR avoids and/or sets a perimeter around Helios One. And maybe attempt to have a peace treaty with them where they "let each other alone". The BoS don't seem to have many motives to conquer or advance through the Mojave (nor the manpower to kick both NCR and Legion out of Vegas), so they may agree on a simple non-aggression pact with the condition that their scout parties could still search for tech on NCR territory.
The BoS may also help them during the battle for the Dam but only if they think the Legion would be a worst neighbour.
At the same time, though, I don't know if that single bunker/chapter can have the authorization of signing peace treaties or alliances with the NCR.
I like that FNV didn't treat the BOS as a Mary Sue. The series suffers generally from putting the BOS everywhere, bending canon whenever it needs to to make that work. F76 in particular.

The Securitron looks like one of the most feeble robotic enemies, you'd just blow the wheels off, leaving them almost useless. Although you could probably argue that anything other than a sentrybot and maybe the assaultron would be easily overcome.
There is a HoI4 mod that plays out this exact scenario lmao. Its packed with content and legit is the reason I bought the game to begin with. The Old World Blues Mod, I play it more than the base game. Imagine if Elijah was successful repealling the NCR in the Mojave, going to Big MT and the Sierra madre with all that tech with a whole brotherhood chapter, thats only a single nation there.

Imagine if the BOS discovered the Archimedes weapon early, and used that to win the battle at Helios One. Even if they could only use the weapon once a day, it would be one hell of a show of power. Imagine the legion's reaction to seeing a beam of blinding light strike down and obliterating Caesar on his throne, the son of Mars struck down by the wrath of Helios.
Now I'd really love to see a "What if the Courier joined Elijah?" Video. Mostly just to see the other faction's reaction to all this slate-wiping. And how the brotherhood would interact with it's former Elder

The only thing about this that I would change is the turning point to start this timeline in the first place. I think a situation that could easily have resulted in the Brotherhood holding onto Helios 1 could have been if they had their hands on the C-Finder ahead of time, and used the orbital laser in the defense of Helios 1

After seeing your video on how fallout should end, maybe as a dark ending, it ends where it began. In nuclear hellfire. Making the the first line “war, war never changes” fitting.
I think they would build around the Helios solar energy array in order to make a more permanent settlement. With that in mind, they opt out secrecy for growth.
Puts into question what society does the Brotherhood make. Maybe some kind of cyberpunk shit where the Novac dino has lasers, robots everywhere, and they all wear funky-looking recon armor.
This has been a great video, could you see yourself doing another video where the Brotherhood joins forces with Mr House, either before the events of FNV or during the quest where the player via cut content convince him to ally with them, where he under a contract gives them the location of technology (that he has no interest in or use for) and help with the NCR in exchange for helping to rebuild the high tech R&D with Elijah or Veronica remaining or becoming elder.
You put in so much work into these, I tip my hat to you.

For sure. If the NCR took more losses at Helios One, it would have caused morale issues as well as potentially losing more troops set to the Mojave as the NCR doesn't want to risk its troops. The victory over Helios One was a symbolic as well as strategic. Defeating the BoS make the NCR more powerful, and individuals will support the NCR more. Not as many troops would have been sent to the dam when they were attacked by the Legion.
An interesting idea would be if Thomas eckhart didn't come to power or if the enclave were revealed in a greater amount prewar.

That is an excellent question. I personally don't think anything would change with the Lone Wanderer they're just another soldier for the BOS if that there's the possibility they cut off ties given the LW could potentially be allied with the Railroad/Escaped Synths or not on Earth in the Alien Spaceship trying to halt further attacks from the Zetans.
Sarah is a bigger deal given she was Elder...The question is if she would willingly step down to let Arthur lead or for some reason not but that would only lead to resentment and hostility from both the Outcasts and West-Coast and a good chunk of her own forces. I believe they'd forcefully remove her. Arthur himself loved Sarah so if he was immediately placed in charge he wouldn't allow any harm to come to her...My guess is peacefully exiling her from the Brotherhood with supplies to find a life out in the Wastes somewhere.
They probably wouldn't expand much, they would stay around the same size thanks to Sarah's following of her father's ideals and /i doubt they would go to the commonwealth.
I could see the BoS turning around and pushing the NCR out of Helios One and the Mojave after pushing the Legion away from the Dam. The BoS would have the Securitrons, the Strip, the Dam, and lots of tech.

It just wouldn’t be possible for the BOS to win no matter the situation. The brotherhood has one major disadvantage.
No new recruits. No way to make more armor and weapons.
They logistically have no advantage except security and hiding.
Eventually they will be raided by NCR patrolling and then that’s that. Outnumbered,out gunned,out supplied because they need food from outside the bunker. Reinforcing troops is all they can hope for. Once a soldier dies his equipment is taken but only one replacement for every four lost is even possible.
Boston did recruit outside and they survived and got stronger and even made the airship. Eventually there will only be one person left if not discovered and raided.
Great video as always. I would love to see this as canon part of nv. But I think the legion would had lost the second battle of hover dam specialy if BoS aided the NCR

This is would have been a better scenario, for both the Brotherhood of Steel and the NCR.
How realistic is it that the Brotherhood would not only cede dangerous technology but also assist another faction in using it? Isn't their whole thing that they don't play well with others? Would it not be more likely that they would destroy then withdraw from Helios One?
Helios 1 to most people was just a power plant. they didnt know Helios 1 could also be an orbital laser.
This is a very believable scenario and it could even pass as canon, but I think the NCR forming an alliance with the BOS after such a bloody and devastating defeat during the Battle for HELIOS One is a huge stretch. The NCR won't just forget that the BOS killed potentially hundreds of their soldiers. They would be more likely to accept a truce _before_ the commencement of the battle.
But they do love taking things over.
And they started it, the Brotherhood was really just defending themselves.
@@TheOmegaInitiative Yes, the BOS would only be defending themselves, but the NCR wouldn't care either way. They lost the battle, and their commanders would want heads to roll. With people like Colonel Moore-who view their mission as righteous and morally justified-in command, they wouldn't care about who shot first; they'll want payback, one way or another.
The paladin who enters the silver rush uses the guise of buying weapons to sneak in. He immediately lays his eyes upon a very powerful gatling laser named brittle spite, which he requests that he may take it into the bathroom to inspect it. Which is obliged by the guards at the silver rush, each to his own and its a lucrative sale. Whereupon the paladin exits gattling laser blazing. What a ruse!
I imagined that the paladin would buy a weapon to make it seems less suspicious and also to use against the thugs.

I would wish for multiple endings of minor faction winning in the second battle of the hoover dam (like the power gangers, fiends, maybe even the brotherhood)
The powder gangers would probably accidentally flood the Mojave because dynamite hitting support beams.
Fiends would basically be caeser and the wild card ending combined into basically complete anarchy. Truely no gods and no masters. Only chems
