Super job!!! Thank you!
@@LeftyBassman :)
Thanks! Very helpful.
Every song has an outstanding baseline that other bands can only get twice in their career. Paul did so many great ones on this
Hey buddy
Dang you missed Her Majesty, that's my favorite Beatles bass line that totally exists!
I know but it is too hard for me!
@@LeftyBassman That's understandable, it is the hardest bass line to play of all time.
Give us sgt pepper and Magical Mystery Tour, c'mon you know x
C'mon you know LG x
My favorite bass line of this album is the one of Something. It's absolutely beautiful and melodic. I think it's the álbum with better instrumental performances by the Beatles. Guitar, bass, drumming and vocal performances at their best.
Yes, best instrument performances...They went out as a band with such Class, and that coda in the medley section (" And in the end, the Love you take...") was so perfect. Then, being "cheeky lads from Liverpool" they had to add "Her Majesty" bit. I still love McCartney's skills. Love the more recent "Egypt Station" especially. Genius goes into sleep now and again, but it never really dies.
I've always wondered how much time McCartney spent working out his basslines, and how much he played by instinct, gradually sorting out with each take where to hold back, push, play the roots or deviate into a totally complimentary bass line tune. Great work, Lefty!
I think it was in Geoff Emerick's book "Here, There, and Everywhere", he wrote that once d.i. was available, Macca would stay in the studio hours after the others left. Artistic growth and ambition!
@@lilmelvin11 "d.i."...?
@@SurferJoe1 Direct Input, meaning you don't plug your Bass or guitar into an amplifier that is then miked, but you plug your Bass directly into the recording board. Motown and other labels started doing that. Better control of Bass tracks Pushing the Bass in the mix of sound.
@@SurferJoe1 In the "olden days" they would pretty much just hang a couple of microphones in the air to capture the recording. (Great jazz recordings happened then, full of atmosphere). Technology advanced to 4track then 8track abilities. McCartney saw this and stayed overtime and after all the other Beatles left he stayed behind with Emerick to re-record Bass lines on an open track, separate from the other tracks. Work Ethic. Brilliant example of a creative artist using evolving technology to further express himself. Re-editing
Both instinct and cerebral activity. It's a Balance
Thanks so much! Not enough people ( non-Bass players, anyway) appreciate his lines on their own. He can play simple, complex, or a mixture within a song. He serves the song, always. Even on the "corny" ones! Thanks again!
Been waiting for this for a long time this is perfect to go along with mattiboo she so heavy cover
Finally, someone playing Come Together the correct way! Nicely done.
The best album of all time!!! The best band of all time!!! And the bass lines... God!!! Where did this guy (Sir Paul McCartney) came from??? What planet??? What a fuc... genius!!!
Finally, Abbey Road!!
Superbly accurate down to the little improvs that Macca and Harrison did on the bass lines on this album. Excellent job.
Abbey Road is my favorite album. I think at that time The Beatles were the most advanced musically being together. As always great bass playing and fantastic video. Nice weekend :)
I can't decide if I like Abbey Road enough to replace Revolver in my number #1 album spot but Abbey Road 100% is the album where they were the most musically advanced and I love it so much for that
Paul bedides being a great player, I think he's absolutely genius in composing the baselines! The fact he's the composer of a huge number of songs, he always choses what the melody requires, instead of writing the bass lines for rhe sake of showing his technical skils agility etc.
Fabulous cover!!!
George played Maxwell's Silver Hammer, Oh Darling, Golden Slumber, and Carry that Weight
Прослушал с огромным удовольствием! Спасибо Вам за проделанную работу! Желаю дальнейших успехов в Вашем творчестве!!!
