Class 47 departing Southend East

Cathedrals Express day trip to York, West Coast Railways Class 47 departs Southend East on Saturday 14th June 2014. Having sat at the platform for five mins 47 245 gave off a very satisfying amount of 'clag' as she pulled away. Emissions from 12 cylinders are concentrated into one exhaust and this wonderful class of loco is always prone to producing plenty of clag after being at idle for a length of time. Zero emissions department please look away now! Great to see what was once such a common loco on our network still doing their thing.
