Love it how long till the 30hp is upgrading to a g2
Not sure the 30 HP will ever become a G2 ....... One day BRP might update it. It looks very much like BRP is working from the top down with the updates.
Got a boat I want to buy but it has an Evinrude. I really like the boat but big question about reliability and future support for this motor. From the forums there are people who have no issue and others have. This tells me it is QC issue. Salty Quintrex put a lot of these on their boats, may you can tell us if about your customer feedback on Evinrude. Thanks!
What I heard was that BRP was concentrating on the other ends of their business, they shut down the production of evinrude but they are still around to honor warranties. Im fixing to get one myself as Evinrude is what my family has had as far back as I can remember. Good luck bro

So is the 115hp gen 1 2016 for me to by used going to be ok. Says it has two more years warranty. It only has 150 hrs on it and never seen the shop since new 7/20/2016. Should I take a chance on it after it's never seen the shop for a 300hour or 3 year check. No.
I do not like what I have been hearing about this engine in my short knowledge of know about it.
I loved my 25 year old Johnson 90hp 2stroke V4 Crossflow # VJ90TLETS. It swallow a ring in #1 and had to borrow and stroke to the .030 oversized piston, I did all 4. Now 23 years later # 1 is 30psi lower than the other three. Also that #1 cylinder is getting water in it. I pulled the head and saw a hole in the head gasket in that area and replace the head gasket, Cylinder walls are shine no cross hatchings and rings showing warn of 23 years. I installed new head gasket. Rain great at idea with hose and ear muffs. Sea test, it started running fun and found more moisture in that number one.
I'm guessing I'm done with this power head as it's already been oversized .030. My guess, I am done with the great old engine. I suppose I can pull a powerhead to get the pressure up. But the it is getting water intrusion in that. Seems I need a new powerhead to a twenty-five-year-old. It might be time re-power boat. Eventide vidios on the e-tec gen 1 90- 115hp seems good. But do I buy know what the five-year contract warranty. Or buy a tree year old one with 150 hours on it that has ever seen the shop. I talked to a guy that was selling a used one that was making metal in the oil. If this is an inherent problem perhaps I should avoid Evinrude all together and go Suzuki What say you?
