Good Clinical Laboratory Practice provides useful guidance for the labs who process samplkes taken during clinical trials. Although labs may never come into direct contact with trial praticipants, they still have an important role to play in ensuring the principles of Good Clinical Practice are followed, especially in relation to -
- protecting the health of trial participants
- ensuring participant anonymity is maintained
- helping protect the scientific validity of the trial
This webinar provided a useful refresher or introduction for those who have a working knowledge of clinical trials and associated lab work through to those who are interested but have no background knowledge.
We discussed the standards that must be followed by laboratories that perform analysis or evaluation of clinical trial samples. The GCLP rules were produced because the GCP guidance contains little or no detail to provide specific guidance to clinical laboratories.
You will learn about all aspects of GCLP from lab set up and planning (based on the samples to be processed) to the documentation and analysis itself.

GCLP is the international abbreviation for the topic "Good Clinical Laboratory Practice." It is an abbreviation used the the World health organsiation and many others. It is not the name of my organisation and i cannot change it. However, I do not think anyone will be confused between the two uses of the same abbreviation.
