I was convinced that I could watch any fishing video at my own viewing pleasure, but you had to make a series so entertaining I can't watch them without my fiance. I'm impressed, but now I have to be unfaithful as I watch this alone in the middle of the night.

I was just coming to comment about adding rattles
I like to build rattle's with 22 shell casings and bb's
Over 15 years ago I got a free heavy ~3" Rattlin' Rappela at an industrial equipment show. The vendor printed their name on the side. Any new place I ever went it was my 1st lure befire switching to things I had more confidence in. After more than 10yrs of that in many many places, hooked into a big rainbow on the upper Missouri.

@Art Smith I have one of these promotional Rattlin Rapala, too. Came as a key fob, had to drill open the line tie and front hook hanger and add my own hardware, but over the years I've cought some of my biggest perch on that one. As in 6 n 7 pound +...
Also have a 8 inch Rapala jointed with a magazine name on the side that's cought some fat winter pike.
Who'd have thunk? Creatures that don't read, don't seem to care all that much about text on their food...
This was a cool idea for a video. I'd be up for watching you test out multiple types of lures at the same time again. Can't wait for the shop to be up.

I wish I was as talented as you with your painting schemes and methods! I too do woodcrafts and have recently fought my way through compound cuttings of chess pieces out of 1 1/2 X 1 1/2 blocks of wood. I no sooner got involved in practicing those cuts when lo and behold, I found patterns to make wooden cars and trucks. It's like "oh look, a butterfly!" If I could guarantee myself, I could paint lures as detailed as yours, I'd make my own lures! But you're the master!! Keep up the great videos!

A big billed crank bait in shallow water is excellent. The trick is to keep bottom contact without getting snagged. As usual Great video!

Omg the taco lure is so cute
The lure that acts like a topwater has a low pressure area on top because of the bend. So it will pull the lure upwards. The diving one has a low pressure area on the bottom so dives really good! Works like the wing on a plane.

We use big bibs on Murray Cod & Golden Perch lures, helps get the lure down to 15 to 25 feet.
You should hang all the baits up that don't work up in your shop. Made like a wall of shame. Lol. Dude even if they don't work very well they still look awesome. If nothing else it will be a constant reminder of design to stay away from. There still a work of art in my book. You do great work man. Keep it up

The curved one that worked is a slightly exaggerated version of some classic walleye lures. Reef Runner Deep Diver and Cotton Cordell Wally Diver are 2 popular lures with a similar shape. There have been others that more closely resembles yours but forget the name, one was a Cabela's lure.
Since BPS bought them out many of the Cabela's brand products have sadly disappeared.

I use to have two bluegill lures that look very similar to the big one you have but they where 3 inches in length. They where my best crank baits for sure at the time. I retired my last one 12 years ago. The company doesn't make them anymore and are now considered collectable worth about $70+ back then.

Yes you should make an ancient fish lure and see if that works on modern fish. Like a certain shape would make em act different. A great learning point. Great vids.

I think you need some kind of laminar flow tank so you can film your lure action. Nothing fancy, maybe just a garden hose that pushes a current through a clear bucket. The Handmade Fisherman used to have a perfect clear little stream that also worked well if you have one of those nearby.

Nice video, hey you should check out a circular polarizer filter for your GoPro. It should cut the reflections in the water and allow you to show the lure actions better. Keep up the awesome work

I think that Taco Lure needs a trailer hook of some sort, but I really like your "Unique" formed lures this week, cheers!
With hardbaits like this, the action depends mostly on angle of lip. It’s just physics. The deepdiving one would dive decently deep even with smaller lip placed with the same angle and the other one doesn’t want to work because the lip should be small and more like 90 degree angle to the centre of symmetry to go with the curve of the lure. That should add a little wobble without fighting the natural will of staying on the surface of such a curved bait. I’m not a lure builder so maybe I’m wrong but that seems to be logical explanation ;)
