I just went through the living hell of crawling around on my back in the freezing cold weather up here in Washington State. Replacing the steering gear to my 2006 Caravan. Didn't realize I needed to keep the steering wheel steady till after it had moved around during the replacement of the steering gear assembly. I'm going to use this to check my clock spring and reset the wheel in the right place. Thank you for this helpful, well lit, and thorough vid man.
Excellent instructional video! After watching it, I completed the repair on my '05 Grand Caravan in less than one hour and my airbag light is now off. Saved me $250 versus the shop estimates I got. Thanks!
We had a new rack put on our 05 Grand Caravan and have gotten abs and airbag errors shortly after. Hopefully they are similar issues to what you’ve experienced. Scanning tools arrived today so I will attempt to diagnose the problem in the morning.
ABS error? Sounds like the ABS cable at a wheel was damaged. Clock spring shouldn't throw an ABS code. Airbag yes. If your horn and/or cruise control also stops working it's almost guaranteed to be the clock spring. If a shop replaced your rack, make them replace the CS, it's their fault it broke.
Thank you for your video. I have the same model, air bag light is ok, however radio turns on without sound, volume buttons behind the wheel are not working, cruise control some times work, some times it doesnt. Do you think it could be the same reason?
It sounds like it is the problem. My car doesn't have the sound buttons on the steering wheel, but my cruise control became intermittent before failing, then the air bag light started coming on & the horn stopped working. Switches on the steering wheel failed one after another.
For me the cruise control was the first to go, then the air bag light came on if I remember correctly. When the horn gave out I knew exactly what the problem was. It's a ribbon cable so I guess they can fail in any order.

Dude, you just made all the work of making the video worth while! Thanks!
My horn works but goes off indiscriminately, stuck on. I also have airbag light on. I'll make this replacement, thanks for taking the time to share.
Also check if your cruise control works or randomly cuts off.
great video, i did everything same and done in 15 minutes :) thanks
Awesome (a little late on the reply, sorry!)

If the clock spring goes bad does the horn always not work as well or does it depend on other things
