Build one for me please... i pay 14 bucks. you can keep the rest to build a pc like this for yourself :-) you should send one to Dave Lee just too show him who's the boss =)
Piyath Alawatte €3,50? For a laptop with these specs? I thought €7,- was already amazing but this guy! So i can buy 4 laptops with the same specs as this razer machine from you for €14,-? It would be stupid comparing a desktop pc to a laptop pc but you would not do that right :-)
L. Willis I am left handed use my left hamd with everything except a mouse so it wouldn't be a problem for me but I get where you're coming from.. same thing for things like guitars
I am right hand disabled :( Still, I'm getting this laptop. (then again I am used to interacting via keyboard shortcuts 80% of the time so non-shortcut happy folks will suffer)
Bronte I honestly hope you someday realize that people are different, and what they do with their lives has nothing to do with you. So unless he's trying to make you furry, I suggest you to stfu
Price: 10,000$, Battery life: 10 min (with low brightness), Fan Noise: slightly less than the noise produced by an airplane fan... Looking forward to it xD
Technology is getting there day by day. By the time we get to SLI Titan X with good battery life and heat, one card will be able to handle two of those.
really love those device blueprints that you create for most of ur laptop videos! keep up the good work. Honest been watching your videos when looking at buying a new laptop.
Dave, wow man -- this video is less than 2 hours old, and it already has over 25,000 views and over 800 comments! I've only been a subscriber for a couple of weeks but I love your channel. You seem to cover technology from all perspectives, not just focusing on video editing and pretty things. Razer built a beast! This is what a high end, high price laptop should be. Not that expensive crap that comes from Apple with the audacity to have a "Pro" moniker on it. My only gripes with this laptop are the battery's longevity, it needs at least one more USB C/Thunderbolt port, and the RAM is soldered to the main board. I've owned laptops for over 15 years, when I realized that I can't keep lugging my desktop around with me everywhere. In that 15 years I have never had my laptop disconnected from power for more than 3 hours. However, this laptop has a battery that is twice the size of other batteries and it still only last 3 hours? WTF? You covered the reason why this laptop needs additional USB C/Thunderbolt ports, but at least you will only have to buy one dongle in the future (unlike with the MBP). I don't think any high end laptop should have soldered or glued peripherals. Even with the minor gripes that I have, this thing is 10x better than a MacBook Pro, even the $4300 one. It has equal build quality, more ports, can render videos faster, and can play AAA title games in 4K on ultra settings! The only major problem with this laptop is with battery life, but that can be forgiven. IMO this laptop is actually somewhat worth the price. The MBP, on the other hand, is under-powered. Apple cut too many corners in order to preserve battery life. LOL, this $3700 GTX 1080 laptop relegated the MBP to being used as a mouse pad! I know that probably wasn't your intention but it says a lot. It's also sad when even a $1500 laptop with a GTX 1060 can outperform a $4300 MBP.
Thin and Powerful not bad! Its what we always wanted. sure it cost a lot but if your gonna keep it for years and if you happen to do work on it, its unique strengths could make it worth while to a performance enthusiast.
It's expensive but it's a laptop idk why people compare it to a pc. You can't carry a pc around and when you compare a pc you could build it cheap but then when you want a decent 4K monitor and gaming keyboards and Mouse's speakers etc it adds up. And you need a whole freaking room to set it up.
TechAppreciated Ashraf I Bought a Alienware 15 for 980€ on Amazon it was a Prime Deal my pc has a 1060 a i56600 and 32gb Ram I built it for 850€ I have a Ultra widescreen Monitor for 200€ a cheap Keyboard a 5€ Mouse and im fine with it
(Joke comment) No the minimal requirement for minesweeper at 144p is: 35+ Titan XP At least 1 petabyte of RAM Quad motherboards with intel i9 7900X in each one At least 10 petabytes of HDD and SSD RGB More RGB
Dave is a huge fluff reviewer... no objective critique. Just guys this shit is awesome... buy it now!!! He gets all these laptops and he doesn't even compare them. A glorified sales man. All these teens without a penny to spend just eat it up.
You must have missed the stroke of genius at 2:30. He used a mac book pro as his mousepad. In a way, that shows us how the macbook measures up against the razerblade pro.(Pricewise & Perfomancewise)
Guys don´t get mad about that the timing, the 970m is about the same as the 1060 and cost about the same as well, the 1060 may be a tiny better but every year something better will appear, you will never ever buy anything if you keep thinking like that, the 970m and the 960m can still play a lot of stuff in 1080p (which looks fine in a 15 inch, even 720p looks decent for the most demanding games on the 960m) and if you use premier or other adobe programs they are very close to the new Pascal so don´t worry, enjoy your computers for 3 or 4 years than go buy something that will be 10x better than the 10 series, i´m considering buying the dell 7559 just because its around 600 bucks bang for buck it kills any 1060 laptop out there, it is not a big deal.
I had a laptop with a 960M in it for awhile before I sold it. There wasn't really anything out there that I couldn't play on it, when I shared a bedroom with my ex for awhile it was my only PC and was plenty happy gaming on it.
I bought this laptop about a month after this review came out based on this review. Firstly I think the review was accurate.. So critique is of Razer not you, however from a future review perspective there are some clues. In Europe the support was terrible, 3-6 weeks without a laptop, and I kid you not, received it back rattling with a spare screw in the case, I checked no screws were missing. It turns out razer had made some shocking short cuts when making the machine. The screws only held 3 sides of the bottom in place, the back was held together with cheap plastic clips, which snapped after 4 years of constant maintenance. That high fan noise, actually is more of a flaw than you think, I have had to replace the fans in my laptop after the bearings went. It still didn't cater for the heat output of the machine, that will under moderate high load will just turn off. I ended up underclocking the graphics card. I found replacing the thermal paste with some decent stuff also helped, as the coverage of the original was somewhat lacking in places. The trackpad, was terrible for a couple of years, I was constantly getting shadow clicks, however that was one thing that did improve. The keyboard on the other hand, has not lasted, the 'mechanical' keyboard was a lie, it's not using switches at all, its the old plastic pressure pads on the back, unfortunately now my WASD keys and space bar don't work from overuse, so I have had to buy a keyboard to do the work. The screen is still good, albeit overly reflective, it's never been usable in sunlight. 4K even on a 17" screen was a waste of money imho, I have everything at 200% scaling, and running games in 4k won't last for more than 30 mins. I think 1440 would have been a good level. The battery has lasted well, 3 hours is realistic a lifespan if you aren't gaming then you will be lucky to get 30 mins, so I have it plugged in most of the time, which explains the battery. Despite the fingerprint attraction, it is remarkably easy to clean.
$3700?.. It's actually not that overpriced IMO.. I mean you are getting a GTX 1080 ($800) 2TB SSD ($800) and a 4K display w/ G Sync ($1000?).. Then you also have a mechanical backlit keyboard, 32GB of RAM and a great cooling system (I'm quite surprised at how cool this laptop can run).. Considering that this is Razer we're talking about I was kinda expecting this to cost somewhere around $5000-6000..
An extra $1700 is still a hefty price to pay for a 1060-1080 upgrade in a laptop that is already massively bigger allowing for flexibility with designing a new cooling system.
Jean Alex 1080s are worth $500. 4K 17" Gsync 60Hz?! No more than $400... you got the XB271HU selling for $550 used and that's 27" 1440p 144Hz IPS G-sync. It's a great machine but a SHIT value
Desktop 1080s are worth $500. Laptop 1080s are still desktop performance, but they still need to be reduced in size (aka engineering in size and cooling). Not quite sure what the actual price of a laptop 1080 is.
information like the statistics on the battery and the fact he provide such information as you can pick it up while in an airplane showed me what a fantastic reviewer he is. spot on.. subscribe and ill buy that lap top
+ytsu12 I have an x7 v6 here. I've reviewed it. it's thicker. By quite a bit in the back. Looks like 20% thicker. The thermal management on the razer is also noticeably better despite being smaller
Best $$$$ ever spent. Yes I can build a more powerful desktop for $1500-$2000 but a gtx 1080 with gsync that I can put in a backpack and take anywhere I go. I would pay anything for that. It's a little on the heavy side you didn't talk about that but in 8ilbs it's a little on the heavier side I chose the 1tb duel 512gb ssd model I use one drive for is and the other for games I like to separate them. It's a beast I get 5 hours between charges when I'm watching Netflix or just you tubing / web browsing which is insane for a laptop this powerful. It doesn't matter if I'm gaming or rendering 4K video I can't make this thing slow down no matter how hard I try. This is the definition of what $3500 should feel like. And on a side note there is not a single game that has to be dropped to 1080p the wither 3 and watch dogs 2 games that run heavy on gpu they will run at ultra on 1440p with ease!
Fiora De Salvateur well yeah founders edition and itx but what about the monitor. the smallest gsync monitor would be atleast 24 inches so thats still bulky.
Yu should've checked out the monster called saegar np9873 first ,its heavier but if u can carry this one then u will have np with saegar . and who cares about thinness when u r getting 2 1080's in a laptop:)
why oh why cant there be a numpad on this 17 incher? and i heard there are problems with the keyboard too....so hope they fix this in the refresh....i badly want to pick the razer instead of dell precision 7720....but....that one is good too
If you want 4K with a 1080, don't expect a decent price especially if it's in a laptop. You paying a hell of a lot more just because it's in a laptop. But considering it's a 4K and a 1080 it's definitely worth it if you plan on really gaming. 1080 will cover you for any game.
Nice mouse mat 👀

Most people are saying that he's using a MacBook as mouse pad at 2:32 but the first thing I notice is the fact that he's playing Torb
The should advertise it with: "The laptop that hates lefthanded people: Razer Blade Pro"
as long as left handed does not mean right hand disabled, you can easily learn to use the touchpad with your less dominant hand.
thats not the point though, im more comfortable with my left. although i can use both.
L. Willis I am left handed use my left hamd with everything except a mouse so it wouldn't be a problem for me but I get where you're coming from.. same thing for things like guitars

how the FUCK did they get a 1080 into that thing?! man my 960m cries!
dude same here :((( i bought my gaming laptop with 960m 4 months later 1060 is out Q_Q
Aurimas Maldzius yeah I bought mine in July. At least I can say that 1060 laptops here are more than double what I paid for mine.

going for $4000+ with a 1TB SSD no idea how Dave got one with 2TB. Damn I wish I could one of these
I mean, its not that op if you think about it. I could build one like that for $7.

Yeah, what does op mean?
Dude but I can build a PC for $5.00 :P You had me laughing with that comment.

HAHAHA I didnt even notice that.
2:30 Best use for a Macbook "Pro"
MrRed Macpad pro
true
Explain why macbook pro is bad...
ColDaddy Supreme is this a joke?
cause I have 17 trillion reasons
MrRed tell me, because all I can think of is that it's a little overpriced for what you get
Dave, very like your video, can you tell me how to test sRGB of screen? What software did you use?
+Martin Teague I use a spyder colorimeter
+Dave Lee no word about question mark key as it is not next to shift key. For a touch typist that really important.
2:00 I think you skipped it.
ChanakyaNiti He mentioned it.
+ChanakyaNiti he mentioned it, also how often are you typing question marks?
I can't believe I haven't stumbled onto this channel for so long. The content's great!
Jean Alex you can get all of these on a desktop for less of 2000$, but its still a great gaming laptop for those who can afford it and travel
It's 512GB for $3700. 2TB version is $4500.
What mouse pad did you use???
Felix Chan The 2016 MacBook Pro
Felix Chan MacBook Pro
MacBook 3lbchunkofmetal "Pro" 2016
Why are 5 years old review being recommended now?
in case you want to get an old gaming laptop for cheap that still holds up
Remember back then when they had these 2cm bezels? crazy how they lived with that
2:34 and you using macbook for mousepad hell yeah
Hello dave, love your videos, keep up the great work
I have always wondered why laptop track pads were in the middle. Where the blade pro has it is exactly where I've always thought it should go.
COREcasual Can't imagine this placement being pleasant at all to use if you're left-handed. Actually, I'd say it's impossible.
true. i bet theyd have to sell a left handed version lol
COREcasual you can only do it on 17", it wouldn't fit on a smaller device
This guy makes the chillest reviews of tech products. I like it a lot.
Not sure if I can build the same PC for 7$... You should fork out at least 8.50$, but this is waaaaay too much.
Artur Kirjakulov buy the parts used and build it for 3 dollars
8.50$ is the minimum wage.
2:30 "I am gaming on my Macbook"
Youre videos are always good. Honestly your voice is calming.
Using Macbook as a mousepad,cool!
noticed that too
IKR
2:30 Only way to game on a macbook
Ibraheem Monks I see what u did there
Ibraheem Monks ay lmao
Ha Ha i got a chuckle out of that one.
this is what the Macbook "pro" should have been without unnecessary gimmicks and at least 1 full-size USB 3.0 and 2 USB type c ports.
TheSpector Thatll be....$9000 from them XD. Because theyre popular and their ppl will still buy
TheSpector eh I'm. It missing normal USB ports when I need them I got an all in one adaptor for cheap.
prettylolitadoll I know it misses full-size USB ports. My comment is just a hypothesis.
Why recommending after 4 years? Great job TH-cam algorithm!
1080 is relevent again, maybe that's why?
That moment when you are so rich , you use a macbook pro as a mousepad...
no its to shou how you can GAME on A MAC
Quite a big hit at the price comes from 2TB of PCIe storage.
He is actually gaming on a macbook :vv
information like the statistics on the battery and the fact he provide such information as you can pick it up while in an airplane showed me what a fantastic reviewer he is.
spot on..
subscribe
and ill buy that lap top
no need to drop down to 1080p when 1440p is an option
Hey what about a Surface book with performance base vs macbook pro 2016 15" comparison?
You know he's rich when he used a MacBook as a mouse pad...
6 years forward and the quality is still top notch, damn great work dave ✨
The aorus x7 dt v6 is thinner and is more powerful with 64gb ram, and a 6800k?
+ytsu12 I have an x7 v6 here. I've reviewed it. it's thicker. By quite a bit in the back. Looks like 20% thicker. The thermal management on the razer is also noticeably better despite being smaller
ytsu12 And this is better in just about every other way than the aorus
Dave Lee but the highest end Aorus x7 v6 does have a 1080, and a 6820HK. Might not be as well implemented, but that's this impressive, no?
What do you do with all the Laptops you review?
Aorus also has 120 hz display. thats a big deal
And on a side note there is not a single game that has to be dropped to 1080p the wither 3 and watch dogs 2 games that run heavy on gpu they will run at ultra on 1440p with ease!
itx cases that can fit founders edition cards.
Steel007 yes very true but I love the thinness and 2x gtx 1080 that's probably $4k
Have fun :)
The best laptop for people who like plastic
+☆420LeAntti☆ except it's made from aluminum
***** B.A.I.T.E.D
I HATE MY LIFE
whats the point of "baiting" somone, you just look stupid. Either that, or you actually thought it was plastic and now youre trying to cover it up
oh shit i got roasted.. im scared
Dude you are the single greatest reviewer of hardware on TH-cam. Just wanted to drop a comment and say I appreciate your extensive reviews.
can you make a hackintosh guide?
why oh why cant there be a numpad on this 17 incher? and i heard there are problems with the keyboard too....so hope they fix this in the refresh....i badly want to pick the razer instead of dell precision 7720....but....that one is good too
I was gonna build one for $7, but this one guy keeps kicking my ass..
If you want 4K with a 1080, don't expect a decent price especially if it's in a laptop. You paying a hell of a lot more just because it's in a laptop. But considering it's a 4K and a 1080 it's definitely worth it if you plan on really gaming. 1080 will cover you for any game.
We finally found a more expensive mouse mat than a razer mouse mat
I love how he's using a mac as a mouse pad @ 2:30 XD

An equivalent PC for $7? W... wait I want to talk to that guy.
I just noticed the shot @ 1:48 - with 2D illuminated. Nice touch!
I wish razer would remove one '0' from this laptop price.
