100%! True urbexers do not give out information to places like this to strangers.
      It's an explorer code.
If you tell one stranger, then they tell two people and so on.
And it's guaranteed to get vandalized.

Back in 2000 I was doing research on this tunnel. I made copies of books from the Library in Downtown LA.
I also checked out a VHS tape were old footage some in color of the PE cars and also this tunnel. I went to the old subway terminal building where you are. I talked with security guard @ entrance and I explained to him what I was doing. He was nice enough to give me a quick tour. Upon turning on a stationary light in tunnel. The mouth of tunnel opened up and appeared. It was quite an experience. The part where you saw beds was part of the VA hospital after the PE cars service ended.
    Thanks for sharing this video

  • @martinbatistelli

The middle level was the station mezzanine, not a parking garage. The ramps were for passengers. Thousands of people used the terminal each day.
One thing the confused me was not knowing which way you were facing as you were recording. I was trying to follow along on old drawings that I have downloaded. Much of the original ramps and stairs have been demolished by subsequent owners and tenants since the station was abandoned by the Pacific Electric. I saw the Terminal Foremans office that you visited in a video from 1994, but didn't understand where it was within the complex (and still don't).
A friend of mine told me he was once doing construction work at the famous old hotel one block over directly west and was shown an old passage/tunnel that was said to connect the hotel to the subway station for the benefit of hotel guests. I have never found this passage mentioned anywhere.

Downtown LA is an exciting place to explore I remember in the late 90's my brother worked security at the Broadway trade center on 8th & Broadway. It was the old May Co. Building we discovered it had a roof top penthouse and at one point some of the building used to serve as a hospital. It was very cool and in some way creepy

The first bankers had all the DTLA buildings connected by Rail underground , Santa Fe lofts has a marble staircase that turns to dirt a few floors down (not accessible to public but the door is next to the security desk) not sure how far down it goes but I made it to 6deep before I got scared , so dark and creepy with wind blowing somehow , there's way more tunnels guy keep digging . There's also an underground river that flows right under downtown

We don’t have a massive subway system like New York, and there’s only a couple stations in downtown. The subway tunnels in LA are more to keep the trains off the street then to be a true metro system, but yeah the red and purple lines of LA metro go to a few places in DTLA then out to Hollywood and Koreatown.
This station was for the now defunct pacific electric railroad, which was more like an Interurban then a true subway. This tunnel was built under Hill and Flower streets to keep the PE trains off the street (they previously ran east to west on tracks on the middle of flower street) and the trains were bound for suburbs and not really a rapid transit system like a subway.

Most cities have tunnels underneath…. Check out shanghai tunnels too. Those ones are so sad regarding the history. When i lived in portland, i was always warned to stay away from certain areas of dt at night especially by myself… long story short i was dt for whatever reason by myself one night and passed a tunnel entrance… all i could hear was a woman screaming bloody murder for help. I was so scared i ran as fast as i could and called the cops. I will never forget that. My mom later told me it was probably a spirit calling out for help as we never heard anything on what happened or if someone was really down there being hurt. Never went dt by myself ever again after that..

I still think L.A. should revive BOTH of its downtown train terminals as well as the Red and Yellow systems... Streetcars are the best way to reclaim streets from cars, trucks and buses and encourage more people to take transit again. People like this want to elude that there is some secret way to get down there. There is not. They may have been years ago, but not anymore. I Just spent the past couple days down at that building and trying to get in and it’s just not gonna happen without permission or guided tour.

    • @Urbex_Offlimits

People like who? I understand your frustration. It took me years to find my way in the first time. It's not a secret. It's just about knowing where to look and a little luck. After exploring the tunnels, maze of rooms and hallways, and all the holes in the walls, I found a second way in and out.
