Yeah I felt the same way. For $70, I was met with boring, robotic, monotone dialogue that just made me feel bored. The combat also didn’t feel very fun either. Recently I just played through Ghost of Tsushima and was met with an incredible story and amazing and immersive combat that felt incredibly satisfying. I was really hoping Hogwarts would be fun, but never actually enjoyed it and felt like it was a chore to play the game to “cope” with me spending $70.
I feel the same. HL was so boring. Even being a huge fan of HP, the game is just so… tasteless. It feels like it’s made for younger people. Dialogues feel… empty. And the main story is just so unappealing with the bad guy… it’s just uninspiring.
Dont worry mate the game is highly unbalanced if you wanna smoothsail there are weapons that are stupidly powerful so you can easily finish the game. Dont let the soulsborne genre scare you all games of that genres have noob friendly builds.
Same here. I didn’t know about it until it came out on gamepass. Got all the achievements and I just replayed it about a month ago on PlayStation and got the platinum
the only time i regret buying a game was when i bought AC Valhalla on PC other than that i don't have regrets even for games like TLOU or Starfield when TLOU was a trash port and Starfield is a mid game

This is a great list! I was on fence for Rest for the Wicked, but based on your taste and how you talked about it, I'm in. Im a VERY picky Soulslike fan, and Lies of P was amazing. The soulslike gods finally shined down on us.
No Rest will be GOTY when it releases in full. I hate cut scenes but this game's are amazing. Hopefully losing their publisher doesn't delay things. It's a true 10/10.

Banishers: Ghosts of of New Eden. Combatwise, it's like God of War Ragnarok meets Ghost Busters. Storywise (at least choice based style), it's like Witcher 3. It does have flaws here and there, but it's overall a pretty solid game.
I fucking LOVED FFXVI. Absolutely the best story since X, the best main character in the series, and the voice acting and cast were absolutely phenomenal

Alan Wake 2 was a competition of Baldurs Gate 3, an absolute masterpiece. While it didn't win (obviously), it was still good. Hogwarts legacy and Jedi Survivor were AAA games that were bound to be good. What was actually bad and I regret buying it, was Diablo 4. That is an amazingly boring and bad game. What was surprisingly good, was Wartales, Jagged Alliance 3 and the Last train home. No one expected anything from these games, yet they delivered big time.
Gotta say. Went back and played Persona 5 Royal cus I’ve never played a persona game before and I was pleasantly surprised. Beat it after 135 hours. A commitment for sure. And I hate turn based combat. Yet it held me the whole time. Another game I can recommend if you haven’t tried it. You never know you might like it🤷🏽♂️

I'm hoping to not regret no rest for the wicked, I hope they fix a lot of aspects that are problematic. I absolutely love so much about it but level capping and time gates are just stupid.
Some of these games are good, my favorite being Lies of P. But Sons of the Forest should not be here. It was a repetative lifeless journey and the amount of content provided did not justify the size of the redundant map.
Too many of these are just overhyped mediocre games which are guaranteed to have you regretting wasting your time and money. I could mention specifics, but that'd make you waste more time replying to me so just take it however you want, the only large-scale games that are worth a purchase are Nioh, Wo Long, Elden Ring, Bloodborne, The trails series (I started with cold steel), the Witcher 3, Hollow Knight, Bravely trilogy, and Slay the Spire. Anyone else got some solid recommendations?
@@CactousMan639 Dark souls 3 is good, but all of them just feel kinda dry to me, Bloodborne is my favorite because it is the most balanced and has atmosphere. As for sekiro, I like it, but Wo Long is sekiro on steroids with how many abilities there are and the enemy variety and story. And if you don't like Nioh, it's not grindy at all, just do the different missions which gives you plenty of fun and allows you to mix multiple play styles.
I actually regret getting god of war ragnarok. I just don't like the story and the good parts were in the original and probably better because i didn't dislike that game. I've had ragnarok for more than a year but not finished it yet. I do not mind the action but being forced to listen to the story when you do not care for it makes me want to turn it off.
Only drawback from AW2 is it’s not on steam. I like using steam link and playing on my phone, and I use it via moonlight, which is annoying. Epic Games Launcher doesn’t play well with my iPhone telescope controller. 😢
Hogwarts Legacy? It's good but the lack of developped side quest (except the 4 main students), the need of revelio spam and the Merlin's puzzle made me thinking this game doesn't fit in this video. Yes he win the most anticipate game award, because of Harry Potter, and after his realese lot's of people see that beyond the Harry Potter paint job, he's an average RPG, not a bad one, but surelly not a great one. Elden Ring would have deserved to take his place on this video, it's also an RPG, he came out the same year as God of War and he was taken as example several times in this video. So why don't put it in the video instead of just name it as an example for others games?
I suggest getting v rising as it is complete now. No rest for the wicked is still in early acces and they may add a lot of content until official 1.0 release. Like with v rising I regretted getting it in early access because with the new update all progress is reset and you have to start from scratch to play the new late game added content which sucks ass but I learnt my lesson. Avoid early access as much as possible.
The only reason I havet tried Lies of P yet is because the setting just doesnt appeal to me. For some reason the art style and the whole Pinocchio thing just put me off. Cant put me finger on why

Spending all your time as Alan Wake in the dark place isn't nearly as intriguing as switching between both realities. Star wars jedi survivor on ps5 launch was terrible and i definitely regret buying it ran like 20fps at times apparently it runs better now but not tryd it on ps5 only xbox series x and that ran great

Alan Wake 2 wat a bad start to be honest. But lots of diverse games, many of which I would find boring, the lack of more indie titles was felt because citing AAA games which brought nothing than beautiful graphics and felt lackluster to their own counterparts did not help the list, but each to their own opinion. There were some good games though, RE 4 being a great remake and a faithful one. Lies of P despite being super janky was original in a certain way. Jedi Survivor is and remains a highlight of AAA gaming a proper game, with proper gameplay and a proper experience. No rest for the Wicked got a mention and that's commendable the game has issues but it has great potential.
There are ways to overcome boss even if your are weak in parrying. Get more stuffs for throwing and summoning to assist etc. I buy tons and threw a lot rubbish in this game and enhanced your weapon.
Alan Wake 2 was a good game. Great graphics, great story, great production, great sound, etc. but gameplay-wise it wasn't good. The parts with Alan Wake were particularly annoying. I don't think this game deserves to be on this list.
Fr I have avoided almost every "Souls-like" game simply because i know my limits whether it's patience or skill. It's games like these where i enjoy watching someone else play it instead of me playing it.
If you haven't played it yet, then go for it. Also, you need a PSN account for the multiplayer mode, so just create one if you want to play with other players online.

Well, I didn't like the grindy Niohs, neither Wo Long. Pinocchio is much better than those. Why not Sekiro, DS3 and AC6? 🙄

My fav is thrones of fantasy xvi: wild hunt may cry
Alan Wake 2 was a good game. Great graphics, great story, great production, great sound, etc. but gameplay-wise it wasn't good. The parts with Alan Wake were particularly annoying. I don't think this game deserves to be on this list.

Fr I have avoided almost every "Souls-like" game simply because i know my limits whether it's patience or skill. It's games like these where i enjoy watching someone else play it instead of me playing it.

If you haven't played it yet, then go for it. Also, you need a PSN account for the multiplayer mode, so just create one if you want to play with other players online.

why not saying that Rest of wicked got mixed reviews and that they are not good. And now developer have sour smile as buyers did not recognise his game so he sold much less copies the anticipated. Whom pay 39.99 for this early access game is mad man
