A Plague Tale Requiem competes easily with AAA games. Beautiful game and the devs knew exactly what they wanted to make. We are a stealth game with an emotional story and that's it. What you said with Banishers is exactly what I said. If you want combat somewhat similar to GoW then give Banishers a go.
Just finished Requiem yesterday and it's a gem. Started Evil West and that's pretty fun and also very similar to God of War as well. Banishers is one I look forward to playing

As a 3d artist, I was really impressed with the visual side of the game - totally AAA level. But what fascinated me the most in the end was the sound design and the voice acting: The awesome accents, the emotion in the voices, the rain and the sea, the desperate monster cries in the distance - top notch.

Just buy it. Edit: A plague's tale franchise are the best looking games i'v played up-to-date. It really feels like an AAA-game. This is TOP tier and worth every penny. Its SO good.
Agree to everything you said. Remnant 2 was the best game Ive played on 2023 and the first game is really great too. And this year i played both plague tale games and omg I will never forget that experience.
Remnant is the perfect example of how to evolve the soulslike genre, a ton of games just copy Dark Souls. It reminds me of the relationship between Tarkov and Hunt: Showdown, is like the same genre but completely different and fresh (funnily enough, they were the same game at the beginning, kinda crazy how they both ended up pushing the boundaries of different genres)
There’s something special about the Plague Tale series. They quickly became two of my favourite games ever when I played them recently. Amazing story and world, great, well-written characters I really grew to care about. I was crying so much towards the end of Requiem.
I loved Stray from start to finish! I'm a huge cat guy for starts, but the game itself was awesome. The animations, the lighting, the atmosphere, the world, the characters and even the secrets. It was all so well crafted. I defo recommend a play through for anyone who hasn't yet. 😊
Such a great list and video! Idk why but this list made me so excited about trying fun new games again. These days I see and hear so much about a game before it launches. Evil West was a blast! Like old days, there are minions, then there are bosses, no open world, and a beautiful leveling system. Graphics was great too, with a too over the top story. Just like ol'days.
I loved it. It doesn't force an open world. The point of the game is focused action not shoehorned exploration. And the story is fine. Its campy. Its supposed to be silly. I don't get why everyone says the story is bad. Its not RDR2. Its a action game harkening back to the early to mid 2000s.

I gave up on Evil West. Got it free on PS+ a while back and I was enjoying it until I got slapped by a major progression bug that never got fixed, basically sending me all the way back to the first level when I had been on like the 6th or 7th. Downloading my save off the Cloud didn't fix it either so... Yeah F that. A shame really, it was genuinely fun.
Neither do I, if being honest. I realized in the last decade that I usually just play modern Square Enix stuff and that lasts me for years (so, one upfront cost of $70 stretched over three or four years. Not bad. And actually, a few of those games were purchased used or months after release, so were much cheaper than that). Maybe I might throw in an indie game or two during that time but I usually meander back to the JRPG when the new mechanics of whatever I'm playing become too much of a headache to want to learn after a long day of work 😅. Or, my gaming motion sickness kicks in when I've panned the camera one too many times (still happens in the JRPG's, too, but a good story can helpnstave it off). So, gaming channels have been my doorway into what is happening beyond my little niche and the best channels have compelling hosts and this one is certainly becoming one of my favorites 😊.
I don't really play much anymore myself but I still love watching videos about them and still love learning about new ones and things going on in the industry. I've enjoyed them my whole life. Even back in the 80s and 90s when it wasn't cool to like video games, even for kids.

You know, a lot of the games we loved from the good old days (the OG Xbox and Xbox 360 era) would be considered AA games by today's standards. All of the _Halo_ games made by Bungie, the OG _Star Wars: Battlefront_ games, _Republic Commando,_ every _Call of Duty_ game up to _Black Ops 2,_ the first _Mass Effect_ game... those games had certain qualities that we are seeing more and more of in AA games today. AA lol but honestly I’m an alcoholic and I replaced gaming with that addiction lol
I bought American Arcadia two days ago after watching this. Really good and especially considering I'm a Tarkov main and now not played Tarkov for 2 days!
Like being finished products at launch with no microtransactions.
Played over 500 games, seen maybe 3 or 4 in my lifetime not finished at launch, sick of that BS line
"Still Wakes the Deep" This is great! do not miss this and the feeling in the environment! everything from sound effects to grafix! all are imprssive .
Another good game list
Ah yeah that number 1 game got hands for sure
In all seriousness though, thanks for the high praise! Super glad to hear you (and so many others!) have enjoyed our kung-fu journey.
Sifu is a gem for real.
I'm hoping we get a Sifu 2.
👍
This is a REALLY good list. If you just want a casual game most of these are great. I'm currently planning on playing Evil West and Still Wakes the Deep very soon. I did get plague tale 2 just havent had a xhance to play it!
Crazy how awesome games can be when you’re not chasing a ESG score.
Tf ESG gotta do with anything?
@@fanovaohsmuts they actively stop devs from creating the games they want the way they want. Do any research and I promise a game or game idea you like has been ruined by trying to get an ESG score. Think robot arm lady red head respawning in the bf5 trailer. Tone deaf
lol you’re on the wrong channel promoting this my friend try taking this over to like mathchief or something 🥱
Imagine being dumb enough to think esg is why games suck and not the capitalist system we live in that sucks all innovation out of things just to make a profit.
Falcon, I am happy to see Asterigos listed! I really feel a lot of people slept on this one and am glad to see it get some love! Also, shame that Unicorn Overlord isn't on PC.
Where's my Coca-Cola gameranx logo?
I'm glad to see nine sols and dread delusion here. They are definitely some of this year's best hidden gems.
Stray is such a good game.
i really appreciate the chapters and timestamps, ty gameranx!
I regret buying all these games
Still wakes the deep is so overrated. It's only 4 hours long and still costs $50 (Australian) on Steam. And not to mention boring as hell.
