You do a great job with these videos! Just a couple questions regarding the beacon. Can you adjust the distance on the preset modes (like Circle and Dronie)? Does the beacon allow you to take pics and switch between photo/video mode?
Thanks! So far on the beacon you are really able to only pick follow, fixed track, steer and hover. I haven't found a way to take photos with the beacon and if you double tap the center button it will do a dronie but it is not currently adjustable from the beacon :)
Can't wait to get mine I'm in batch 2 which is in January then with the winter weather doubt I'll get to fly it much in NY state until spring. Eventually I'll get some cool supermoto wheelie shots ;)

Thank you for really good review videos! I would like to know what happens if it runs out of battery and you don't land it. Does it search for a "flat" surface and lands itself? Can you change the return to home point during the flight, so it doesn't try to fly a few kilometers back to where you started, but with almost no power left in the battery?
Another good one Kyle, nice job. Question, have you seen any photo options that allow pano photos, auto 360 captures, and time-lapse that initiate an auto capture? I’d also like to know if waypoints and recorded waypoints are possible, these would be useful tools but not sure if this is out the gate or possibly roadmapped.. 🙏
Hey Joseph, Thanks, So far i haven't found any pre programed photo settings but I will ask them today and as far as way points there is a "cable" mode where you can set predetermined points and fly between them :)
Great infos Kyle! I think for AF (autonomous flights) you would only need the beacon. For manual flights I think the controller is handy. The beacon though does not display the altitude and the drone distance from you correct? While the controller + phone & app will show most of the information (altitude, how far the drone from you, battery of drone and controller and of course all the camera settings?). Also is there an RTH (return to home) in case something happens? For the Mavic Pro if the controller lost communication to the drone it will do an RTH automatically. Also you can set RTH in case the battery goes low (can be set manually). And I don't mind its not a folding drone like the Mavic, since folding arms tend to break through time.

Does that arm adjust to allow an iPad or only phones? And if only phones does the company have an accessory to allow iPads to be used w/controller? And would of loved to see you show use of the RTH feature

Could you test the skydio 2 in a low light area to see how well it navigates? Also, does it recognize the difference between land and water? Finally, Will it perform a return to home landing when the battery level gets really low? Thanks.
Wondering if there is geofencing and or altitude limitations, make me nervous that the only way to land is by hand. I preordered and can’t wait ! Good job on the vid man.
Hey Sean, on my beta drone I don’t have any geo fencing but I’m not sure what final version will have, and as far as landing, you can just let it land on the ground by itself as long as the ground is somewhat level!
What happens if you put the GPS in another drone or something else, it follows without problems, right? with that you can make very cool scenes 7:59 this is the maximum the gimbal can luck up?

How well does the obstacle avoidance work with a moving object? For example, if the Skydio 2 was following a car through a winding narrow forest road and a truck happen to come from the opposite way, would the Skydio 2 be able to avoid hitting the truck? i like your videos on the skydio. watched them all. when you turn the drone on a horizontal axis is it only possible in one speed or can you slow down the turnaround ? (for slow landscape videos for example)

Hey thanks! I haven't tested the gimbal limit yet but I think it goes pretty high, it isn't mechanically restricted so if it does have a limit, it is just a software limit

How crap is the external mic adapter on those gopros, we lost some good footage because of that. Jump on ebay and see if you can find those foam wind blockers that you put the gopro in they do help. We are going to get the hero 8 external mic thing when it’s out.
Yeah its so lame!!! I am gonna get an 8 with the media mod when they come out just because of the mic. The only bummer is that the new "tabs" on the 8 that connect to the mounts are pretty loose and make a bit of wobble and noise. Really wish they would have worked on a better solution for that but I think 7 with wind muff for action and an 8 with media mod for vlogging will be a good set up

Can they allow you to do close up takes on the drone, the gimbal and camera positions. Are you worried about scratching the 360 cameras? What would droplets or condensation do to navigation? Size comparison with other common items? Can the case fit in a "regular" backpack (compares to a 13" laptop)??

I will do my best to look into the questions i do not know but i don't feel super worried about scratching the cameras with how they are laid out, The case is about the size of my 15 inch macbook but a little more square and fits in my backpack well! I am not sure on the close up shots but i will ask!
Thanks for sharing the video. On Drone Therapy S3E29, you mentioned that you crashed S2 and cracked one of the sensor lens. Was the drone flyable with cracked sensor?
Hey Nicholas, Yeah i did have a small mishap when landing and ended up cracking one of the sensors on the bottom a few weeks ago. The drone was not flyable with the cracked sensor, It threw an error code when i tried to fly it

To a certain extent yeah, if you are going over 10mph or so it will kind of stay in one zone until you slow down and then it will start orbiting again.

Good vid presentation and thanks I understand there are two “return to” modes: home and beacon or controller.? Is that true. I also understand there is a light minimum for flight.? How dark is to dark? Again I understand the is a way to adjust clearance so as to be able to fly in confined spaces.? How does that work?
Thanks Kyle I am in batch 3 The return issue would be a plus but not a deal breaker. Low light would be an issue especially in search and rescue type missions. Many lost people are reported because night has arrived. This is also the case with confined spaces but I have seen at least one vid that shows clearing a. Dry confined space so that has to have some way to address. Again, thanks, your vid was great!
Thanks Kyle one additional question please. As the controller is the parrot case does that mean all the controller hardware or just the case? Also will third party things like tablet holders and range extenders work with the Skydo controller just as it does with the parrot controller?

I think everything is pretty much final just wanted to state that in case some minor tweaks happened. I had a huge update on Sunday that made the functionality a bit better and more user friendly so i think it is really close

WOW....Ellie Mae and I definetly disagree....I really hate to criticize but this video made no sense. I'm really sorry, I like your channel and you seem very genuine and interesting but that was a horrible tutorial....you just randomly clicked a bunch of buttons without explaining anything. Sorry if i didn't do a good job, Like i had said in the intro i planned on it being a much longer video but the audio got messed up from wind noise. I had been getting a lot of questions about what settings were available on the drone and just wanted to show what options you had. If you have any feedback I am totally willing to listen, i just want to try to get better and have people enjoy my videos. What could i have done different to make you happier?
I do like your channel and just read you're from the Northstate! 👍. I dont make TH-cam videos so is a little unfair for me to criticize (like not voting and complaining about the President). Anyways, if I had any pointers it would be to just slow down a little, maybe dont try to tackle such a large and somewhat complicated topic all at once.....just do the remote control, then another video on the beacon etc. Also, if there is a way to project the controller or beacon screen onto the tv screen itself (not just recording it) and then go thru it on screen where we can actually see the screen better.....a lot of drone channels do that when going in depth about say the dji go4 app...check out Billie Kyle he does a good job editing and explaining on his videos...anyways keep up the posting. I enjoy your channel!

Sorry if i'm bugging you with the videos. They just sent me the drone to help beta test it and I wanted to show people my experience so that they know what they are getting into before making the full payment. I know a lot of people put down the $100 dollar deposit and I just want to help them get some more info on their purchase. I was told that they are hoping to start shipping in the next two weeks.

It's especially for tracking people, cars, and other things in motion. And it's able to avoid all things on its road.

Yeah so it will auto land if battery gets too low and it should ping the last know gps location on and app if it gets stuck!

Yeah you can go whatever speed you like! you can also set the landscape shot as a cable mode and do it that way

The controller only has USBC and USB A ports

Yeah i always battle with that haha. when i film linear its much harder to keep everything in frame without a monitor but it definitely looks better!

Thanks Kyle one additional question please. As the controller is the parrot case does that mean all the controller hardware or just the case? Also will third party things like tablet holders and range extenders work with the Skydo controller just as it does with the parrot controller?

I think everything is pretty much final just wanted to state that in case some minor tweaks happened. I had a huge update on Sunday that made the functionality a bit better and more user friendly so i think it is really close

Yeah sorry about that, i learned about screen capture shortly after making this video, wont happen again! I hope you still learned a bit, i am just trying to get better with each video but its a steep learning curve haha

WOW....Ellie Mae and I definetly disagree....I really hate to criticize but this video made no sense. I'm really sorry, I like your channel and you seem very genuine and interesting but that was a horrible tutorial....you just randomly clicked a bunch of buttons without explaining anything. Maybe this will make total sense after I get the drone but not useful right now....sorry but it's just my honest opinion.
Sorry if i didn't do a good job, Like i had said in the intro i planned on it being a much longer video but the audio got messed up from wind noise. I had been getting a lot of questions about what settings were available on the drone and just wanted to show what options you had. If you have any feedback I am totally willing to listen, i just want to try to get better and have people enjoy my videos. What could i have done different to make you happier?
I do like your channel and just read you're from the Northstate! 👍. I dont make TH-cam videos so is a little unfair for me to criticize (like not voting and complaining about the President). Anyways, if I had any pointers it would be to just slow down a little, maybe dont try to tackle such a large and somewhat complicated topic all at once.....just do the remote control, then another video on the beacon etc. Also, if there is a way to project the controller or beacon screen onto the tv screen itself (not just recording it) and then go thru it on screen where we can actually see the screen better.....a lot of drone channels do that when going in depth about say the dji go4 app...check out Billie Kyle he does a good job editing and explaining on his videos...anyways keep up the posting. I enjoy your channel!

Sorry if i'm bugging you with the videos. They just sent me the drone to help beta test it and I wanted to show people my experience so that they know what they are getting into before making the full payment. I know a lot of people put down the $100 dollar deposit and I just want to help them get some more info on their purchase. I was told that they are hoping to start shipping in the next two weeks.
