    thanks for sharing that Experience! Can you say something about the noise of that drone? You think its louder than Mavic Air 2? ps- About 6 months ago, I watch a skydio2 video follow a mountain bike, And i was so amazed, that take me to a decision to purchase a drone. The skydio was really expensive, so i purchase an used spark...

      I hadn't really thought about it. Maybe a little higher pitched. The Skydio price just went up again. $1350.

      I have them both. UOSocal is right? It's definitely higher pitched and a bit louder than the Mavic 2. I actually prefer that it's louder that way if people are around when it's following me they know it there and it's not like I took them buy surprise when passing them on the MTB trails.

    Bro let's meet up! I just got my Skydio too. Live near Los Angeles. I ride a electric skateboard, do you have one?

    • @uosocal

      I don't. I ride mountain bikes a lot. Im hoping this drone will do a better job of tracking while on trail.

      @@uosocal It kills the Mavic in it's ability to follow MTBs on the trail. Check out th-cam.com/video/vqi-yiqYZpQ/w-d-xo.html

    When you hand catch why would it stop motors when it is not down to take off height.? Do you do anything on the ap to stop motors?

    • @uosocal
      @uosocal  หลายเดือนก่อน

      The drone will recognize your hand as the ground, as long as you hold the drone still. It's not something I would recommend doing. I would only hand catch when ot was absolutely necessary, like over muddy or water.

    Great tutorial. Thanks for sharing! I'd love to see how it will track a surfer with the beacon option. Any thoughts on that? We have DJI Mavic Air 2 but the Active Track is pretty much useless. The quick shots work perfect.

      Thanks. I did a video with the MA2 tracking my son while he was swimming around in the waves. I will be doing a similar video with the Skydio.

    Thx! Do we need the contoller or the beacon or both? I dont understand why can't phone act as the beacon and controller for traditional flying? Very confusing.

    • @uosocal
      @uosocal  2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      You can use just your phone to fly and for tracking. The connection is limited to a wifi signal. You can only fly to a short distance. The beacon has a much stronger signal, and can therefore track and control the drone to greater distances.

    • @MR-AK
      @MR-AK 2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      @@uosocal thanks. Beacon is more expensive than controller. So why use the beacon when phone can track for follow and controller can fly long distance

    • @uosocal
      @uosocal  2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      If you're doing any kind of high speed tracking, ie. mtb, motorcycle, wind surfing, the beacon is a must.

      @@uosocal not really just running and bicycle. I have a DJI Mavic air and active track is horrible.

      @uosocal  2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      I'm currently testing the Mini 3 Pro. It's tracking really well. Uploading my first tracking test with it tomorrow.

    Hi, I mounted the beacon on my bicycle handlebar. I thought it best to have my phone active with the ap going for controlling in case the beacon needed a ‘backup’. I put my phone in my pocket. I had no issues but I am wondering if the phone could issue commands while in my pocket from rubbing or moving inside my pocket. I could put the phone in a holder and clip it on my pants. Do you know if being in a pocket is running a risk that unintended commands could be triggered while peddling the bike?

    • @uosocal
      @uosocal  หลายเดือนก่อน

      I would have my phone in my pocket, but with the screen locked. I don't think you have to keep the phone screen on. I never lost connection while using the beacon. Ths drone followed me through heavy tree coverage for over a mile.

    Hi I'm having a problem with getting the drone to hook up to my wifi so I can get it to update.
    In my phone it'll say it's connected without Internet but my Internet is working just fine.
    Thank you in advance.
