A dozen eggs costs almost ten dollars now at the grocery stores in my area. In the real world, once you make the investment and get your return, you pay the loan back. So how come they haven't tried lowering inflation back down? Inflation allows people to make vastly more money through big business and the stock market, but hurts the people who actually work to feed their families. This will sound insane to anyone under like 20, but kids actually had birthday parties at McDonalds. McDonalds had designated party rooms parents could book. Kids would get their happy meals, mess with the toys, a parent would bring in the cake, then they'd all run out and spend a couple hours in the giant play place and vomit in the ball pit. It sounds sad and awkward now, but that was a fun ass birthday party.

I highly doubt anyone cares, but @ 32:03 they advertised the "Cheers" monthly VHS tape delivery, I was curious enough to calculate the pricing of how much money it would take to get all the Cheers episodes. It would cost $5,426.40 for all the VHS tapes EXCLUDING the first tape, whereas it'd be $5,431.35 if we included said tape. So - in total - it would take ~$5,500 - give or take b/c taxes - for one to obtain the entire "Cheers" VHS tapes. With that same amount of money you could take the LoTR NZ Tour, and have some cash leftover. TL;DR: It takes ~$5.5k to get all the "Cheers" tapes.

I can explain the time zone thing! So both chat and Jerma were kind of right here. It *is* a 24-hour cycle, and if we were to just go based on the sun it would indeed be impossible for there to be three simultaneously-observed days *But* if you look at a map of time zones you will notice that they are *absolutely not* clean lines evenly dividing up the planet. They curve and jut out in wild ways, around country borders and islands. This is because the *actual* timezones we observe are somewhat based around the movement of the sun, but they're far *more* influenced by politics and a surprising amount of economics. *Because humans made things inconsistent* with all this meddling and switching things around to suit their own needs, that's what makes room for there to be three simultaneously-observed dates. You'll notice that one of the times given by the person explaining why Jerma was right was labeled as "UTC+14". This is a fantastic example of what I'm talking about: in an ideal system, it would range from UTC-12 to UTC+12, making 24 hours. This will sound insane to anyone under like 20, but kids actually had birthday parties at McDonalds. McDonalds had designated party rooms parents could book. Kids would get their happy meals, mess with the toys, a parent would bring in the cake, then they'd all run out and spend a couple hours in the giant play place and vomit in the ball pit. It sounds sad and awkward now, but that was a fun ass birthday party.

It would cost $5,426.40 for all the VHS tapes EXCLUDING the first tape, whereas it'd be $5,431.35 if we included said tape.
So - in total - it would take ~$5,500 - give or take b/c taxes - for one to obtain the entire "Cheers" VHS tapes.
With that same amount of money you could take the LoTR NZ Tour, and have some cash leftover.
TL;DR: It takes ~$5.5k to get all the "Cheers" tapes.

So both chat and Jerma were kind of right here. It *is* a 24-hour cycle, and if we were to just go based on the sun it would indeed be impossible for there to be three simultaneously-observed days
*But* if you look at a map of time zones you will notice that they are *absolutely not* clean lines evenly dividing up the planet. They curve and jut out in wild ways, around country borders and islands. This is because the *actual* timezones we observe are somewhat based around the movement of the sun, but they're far *more* influenced by politics and a surprising amount of economics. *Because humans made things inconsistent* with all this meddling and switching things around to suit their own needs, that's what makes room for there to be three simultaneously-observed dates.
You'll notice that one of the times given by the person explaining why Jerma was right was labeled as "UTC+14". This is a fantastic example of what I'm talking about: in an ideal system, it would range from UTC-12 to UTC+12, making 24 hours. However, since we decided that wasn't good enough for our purposes, we stretched out the bounds to fit our experience, creating a UTC+14 timezone which is what makes this possible
(By the way, it is actually a good thing we've changed stuff: politics and economics is a lot more relevant to the human experience than astronomical fact, and just because a possible system lines up perfectly with our Earth's rotation doesn't mean it's actually practical.
