I LOVE the moment when Evan’s mother walks behind the screen reading the note and realizes exactly what it is. Chills.

This scene was so messed up, this was truly when shit hit the fan. And having a darker reprise of, “You Will Be Found” the song that kickstarted thie whole project, suddenly turned on its head as everything was all falling apart.

Such a good example of how simply changing the key of a song can create a totally different tone

I also love the fact that both this and for forever and reprised in a darker way in the second act almost as a way to backstab Evan for telling this huge lie

Props to DEH for turning the most heartwarming, beautiful song in the show with an amazing message (out of context at least) and turning it FUCKING TERRIFYING

I blame Alana for this part. Holy crap, I wanted Alana get some karma for releasing that letter. She ruined the Murphy family

Pretty much, though Evan still deserves some of the blame here. I mean, he knew she posted his "emails with Connor" to the public without his consent, so what did he think she'd do with "Connor's" note? Honestly, I thought this was his only unarguably selfish act in the musical - an attempt to save his own skin - and that's what ultimately unraveled everything.
Also, say what you will about the film adaptation; at least Alana took more than ten seconds to decide on posting the note online, and took it down as soon as she saw the hate the Murphy's were getting for it... but the damage had already been done.

The movie did a good job at giving her a good reason to do so at least
