Original Goat scales for the Hogue Deka 2 in Magnacut

In the last video I made about the Hogue Deka I said it wouldn't be worth upgrading the scales, but you all convinced me to give them a try. Seeing as I've never bought from OG before I thought I'd try them for myself. So here is a video changing out the scales. I recently got the Deka 2 Clip Point in Magnacut and added the OG black scales with a black cherry floating backspacer. I didn’t completely break down the knife as you did……simply took the scales off and of course the pivot. One thought I’d like to share…….in doing it like this I used the Benchmade Axis tool that I bought on-line to align the pivot properly. Adding the scales and backspacer took the overall weight to 3.0 ounces and I absolutely love the look and feel of the Deka 2 much better than the stock version.

I highly rec the benchmade alignment tool on etsy. Bought one made of steel and it makes working on axis lock knives effortless.

I know im 3 month late to the party...
But did u purposely switch the pivot around so its flat on the show side??

It's the way it made sense to put it back together. I probably didn't even notice the screw head on the show side but put it back together this way because that's what makes sense to me, lol. I missed an opportunity to comment and notice that. Nice catch! Actually carrying this knife today!

Thanks for posting the video. I'm looking to get those scales for my Deka but I don't see any "buff coated" 2:09 options. What did you select to get that sweet matte coating?

The coating I have? That's "no coating" or none. It saved me a few dollars and I didn't want to spend too much money so that's what I got.

@@sharpends4279 Ah, thanks for letting me know. I just went ahead & ordered the stone grey ceramic coated scales. I hope the cera coat turns out okay.
