Dear FDev team: Thank you for making my dream of exploring the Milky Way Galaxy a reality, over the past decade! A decade and over 3000 wonderful hours logged! 😊❤. While my husband and I were separated for 80% of for 4 years, while I did my degree on the opposite end of Canada, we played Elite together, online in the evenings, exploring the galaxy together, picking up where we left off every other evening. I've said it before but Elite: Dangerous is without a doubt the best video game I've ever played, and the only one for which my involvement with the community outside of the game (both on line and in real life) has been every bit as important as my time in-game. And I use that word advisedly - when people say it's "just a game" I know what they mean and yes, in some ways it is just a game ... but it's also so much more than that and has absolutely changed people's lives. So thanks Frontier, you did good and long may that continue! ❤
just started playing this game this month, and its been pretty damn cool. the fact that a game like this exists is fascinating as there is no game like it. this game is definitely a vibe.
Elite Dangerous has shaped a big part of my gaming life and gave me one of the most wondrous feelings when I first properly started playing in 2016 - around the same time the first Unknown Probe was found. I remember being so intrigued by those ongoings and was so immersed into the type of storytelling you guys did by letting the players figure everything out with subtle clues. I wish more games did it that way. My first "bigger" trip into the black was to the Coalsack Nebula in an Adder. That black void-looking cloud always intrigued me IRL and having a game let me explore it was all I ever wanted. So many amazing memories from this game, and also from the community, which is one of the best out there. Thank you to David Braben and, of course, to all the developers who made this game a reality!
My word, how Elite has evolved since my first play in 1985 on a C64 and what an amazing year it's been for the game. Massive o7's to you all Frontier and to my fellow CMDRs for continuing to make this so unique.
I came back with the excellent PR around Ascendency and the hype for colonisation. I was blown away by the fact Odyssey integration issues were resolved, SCO has completely removed the main gameplay loop barrier, engineering feels great having returned to nearly full bins and anything I did need to top up, just pop into an HGE. Love it. Keep going Frontier!
The only missing bit is removing the exploration minigame that made it so tedious, I came back tot he game after 5+ years and working my way back to the bubble, but mostly gave up on scanning systems.
Elite Dangerous has been a dream come through for me for the last 10 years. Thank you for making this extraordinary game. Thank you for supporting it in VR. For a kid who dreamed of what it might be like to travel the stars, you made that happen and I’m forever grateful.
I started my adventure with Frontier Elite 2 many years ago on the Amiga and after a long break I returned to Elite Dangerous and I am delighted, although the game is more extensive and much more difficult. I'm glad it's continued and I wish it many more years 🎂
Thanks for the good times David and for you following your dream. If it should end tomorrow (hope it don't) I've had a blast playing this game in one iteration or another since 1984.
And this is exactly why I love it! It’s any Space Nerds dream all in one game! Bring Flora and Fauna to Inhabitable Planets with the ability to land on them and it will surpass No Mans Sky, It can definitely see that coming 😁
I loved playing elite dangerous, played it for 6yrs-8yrs but don't play now as don't have a pc and you abandoned us on console. Would still play today if you didn't leave us as is one of the greatest games I've ever played. Many hours doing all roles imaginable
@@DimoN.G11 I would blame this on MS and Sony.... Odyssey is a DLC and MS and Sony would not allow a DLC to only run on the new consoles.... the DLCs have to support the same gen consoles that the original game was released on...
I played the original with my father in the 80s’ and it sparked my love for science and science fiction. I’ve been playing ED since 2017 in VR and can live out my childhood daydreams whenever I want thanks to your work and continued development - just don’t ever stop!
Never regretted a day since I paid £100 for that Founders Edition back in 2015. Still playing today, and since then, I'm in a long term relationship, we have a seven year old daughter, brought our own house and upgraded my PC around six times since 🤣. Thank you David and the rest of the team for non stop adventure and exploration.
No other game captures the feeling of being just a speck of dust, but having absolute freedom. Congratulations to Elite, I'm really happy to have been introduced to this game.
ED is an escape, the chance to go where no one has been before, the atmosphere of the thargoid content is amazing, makes up for me not encountering those in the older games, the spire sites, the cooperation in the community is what really adds to this content. Im not sure Powerplay2 is quite at that level, there is not the sense of urgency of invasion, but its an activity which can be an ok diversion. Thanks for all the fish.
ELITE I must confess I am addicted since 1984, it happened when I saw the Cobra MkIII rotating on the screen of my C64. Computer games history changed in that year, forever. And I was there. I lived it, on my C64 finally feeling I am like Han Solo and this Cobra MK3 is my Millennium Falcon and nothing cant stop me. 40 years now and I am still in my pilot seat. Congratulations to the creators to everyone involved. Congratulations to the content creators who still support it. Congratulations to an amazing community with so many talented people and Commanders. You all continue to keep ELITE alive for 40 years now. You all prove you are indeed... ELITE
My favorite space simulation. It's finally time to introduce the Panther Clipper LX into the game, which can transport 1000 tons of cargo when fully upgraded. PS: Introducing minor alien races would also be an idea, especially if you can buy and fly their exotic ships.
o7 CMDRs and Frontier: Grabbed it during launch -- stopped for a 2.5 year period and rejoined to assist in the evacuation of SOL -- still one of my favorite games to date! A total dream come true for anyone that enjoys and/or wants to have an experience that continues to evolve and that is a true sandbox that encompasses our galaxy as a whole! Cheers to another 10!
Elite has had its ups and downs over the years... but I never stopped loving it. Even when I was angry, disappointed, confused... there was always love. It has tried to do something no other game has even come close to doing. The worst day of Elite has been better than the best days of other games. It's magical.
I stepped away from Elite for a while because my old pc struggled to run Odyssey. I recently upgraded to a new pc and am very happy to be back in this game. Here's to the future!
Same with me, just a few weeks ago I bought my new PC, and coming from a laptop with a 17" Monitor and barely able to run Elite to being able to fully bask in the galaxys beauty on High graphics and a 32" curved screen was an uncomparable experience and made me get back into the game
From a group of friends gathering at each others houses and huddling around a Spectrum to take turns at playing Elite in 1985, to the same friends thrown to four different continents and being able to simultaneously play in real time and collaborate on a shared objective, and still have fun doing it. And then there’s all the new friends we’ve made along the way in the last 10 years of Elite Dangerous. I ❤ this game. So many life experiences shared in this galaxy; the expeditions, the deep space support array, the stellar screenshots, the Canonn challenge, the Hutton Truckers, Lave Radio, Radio Sidewinder, Loose Screws, The Buur Pit and so many others. This game and its community. Thank you FDEV, past and present, for having the courage to dream and the pursuit of vision. We are Elite. o7
Congratulations on 10 years of Elite Dangerous, and thank you very much Fdev for dedicating this time to providing us with many joys and surprises over all these years! May the future of the Elite be even more glorious
Thank You for showing space as vaaaaast as it is. This is the only space game where I get kind of "sea-sick" just by looking at my 22in monitor and I loooooove it. o7 !
Thank you so much for providing hundreds of hours of fun and relaxation. David is getting older now, and I still remember him before the grey hairs. Time truly flies. It was so much fun discovering that VR was supported, especially as I had already connected my Oculus Rift development kit to the game and ended up being one of the first to enjoy it in VR. It’s a truly precious part of my life, and I’m deeply grateful to David and the entire team for making it possible. I also loved the live streams during Christmas; they were something I looked forward to every year. These are such happy and cherished memories for me.
Elite Dangerous was my first ever major game purchase, I can't express in a short comment how much positive impact this game has been in my life. The community of players that has formed is just so amazing. Congratulations on the 10 year anniversary. Its a well earned one!
Thank you FDev for making a fabulous game. It has provided me endless hours of enjoyment, a cool sandbox to create stories in, and a great community to be a part of. o7
I remember when Elite came out back in 2014 and I was still midway through High School. About to finish my Aerospace Engineering degree in May, now. Pretty wild how quickly time has passed. I truly believe Elite opened my eyes to space and grew my passion for it and is part of the reason I chose this career path. Hopefully in a couple years I can work on some rockets :) Hope to see more coming to Elite in the next 10!
Elite on C64 opened many doors in my life to the career I have today. Elite Dangerous was a no brainer to buy into the Kickstarter, for my 4 boys and I. Seeing David's childish excitement when he talked about Elite was awesome and made everyone so excited. And Elite is an amazing space game. But over time that spark from David seem to die, Horizons was the beginning of a shift with Elite, and then on to Odyssey which was a train wreck on release. But is saying the previous statement, its great to see Elite on a comeback with the team pushing hard to bring Elite back to its glory it originally had. Its up to Frontier now to push forward and show Elite is still and will be the space game for the coming future to play. I have regained some trust Frontier can make this happen throughout 2025.
I started back in 1984 on a BBC (yes im that old), jumped on the Kickstarter and have had so much fun playing this game over the last 10 years. Being a part of a community is what puts it apart from all other games, get involved in the narrative, join a squadron, join a power, play with friends, make new friends, go exploring with strangers. One of the highlights for me was going on month long expeditions with a select group then breaking of at the finish at Sagittarius A to solo to the far reaches of the galaxy. The feeling that you are actually out there alone is palpable and a testament to all involved. So congratulation to David Braben for the vision and strength to see this through to create without doubt the best game ive ever played. Epic ❤❤
This is the game of my life-nothing else compares. Thank you for countless hours of playing, fighting, and exploring. Every time I fasten my seatbelt, a journey from my childhood begins.
This game gave me the feeling of an real explorer, we are born in a time where discovering new lands is done and we are rather far from going to new planets outside of Sol, i love the feeling of loneliness when i am again on a solo exploration trip through the Milky Way
Forget it, it would take a miracle .. (but I agree totally with you) .. it was intended to be full VR from the beginning, as it is natively supported .. but .. these 'newer' developers lost the vision along the way. .. imagining VR on foot, that would be really huge! (..as flying is already close to wonderfull, if only immersion could continue after landing .. )

VR support got the shaft when Odyssey was released. That's why I've never purchased the Odyssey expansion.
Here's to another decade!
I started my adventure with Frontier Elite 2 many years ago on the Amiga and after a long break I returned to Elite Dangerous and I am delighted, although the game is more extensive and much more difficult. I'm glad it's continued and I wish it many more years 🎂
Thank you for changing my life.
Best game. Made friends for life. Thank you💜
What a ride. 🚀🌌 Incredible stuff.
I loved playing elite dangerous, played it for 6yrs-8yrs but don't play now as don't have a pc and you abandoned us on console. Would still play today if you didn't leave us as is one of the greatest games I've ever played. Many hours doing all roles imaginable
You can transfer everything to pc. i did You can, roo.
@BigZac904 all well and good if you have a pc. I don't have one so can't use that option sadly 😔 happy flying
@@BigZac904Many people don’t play on PC, but would love to play elite dangerous on consoles. But the developers gave up updating the console versions.
This game is so easy to run bro you dont need an expensive pc
10 years. Thousands of hours of game play. Thank you FDev. See you out there. o7
This take has been one of if not my favorite game of all time, thank you all so much for awesome memories!
Congratulations on 10 years! Amazing to say that Elite is currently better than it has ever been! Let’s keep this momentum going!
Truth be told, this is after a long time (since 2021) that I've returned to the game and enjoyed what I found. Happy birthday, Elite Dangerous!
ELITE
I must confess I am addicted since 1984, it happened when I saw the Cobra MkIII rotating on the screen of my C64.
Imagine the. Guardians returning
This is by far my favorite game. I don't get to play often but when I do it truly is an escape.
Thank you Frontier.
Best space game ever. Keep it up guys.
Happy 10th birthday Elite! Alwayys get chills with this game. Awesome atmosphere and some of the best immersion!
You have created a real masterpiece. Thank you, Frontier Developments! ❤
Happy birthday Elite! Impressive record, there is really no other game that rivals the depth and width this galaxy has to offer.
Congratulations FDEV and crew. It's been a good year
Now give us ship interiors and I'll give FDEV my first born. ;-)
o7 CMDRs and Frontier: Grabbed it during launch -- stopped for a 2.5 year period and rejoined to assist in the evacuation of SOL -- still one of my favorite games to date! A total dream come true for anyone that enjoys and/or wants to have an experience that continues to evolve and that is a true sandbox that encompasses our galaxy as a whole! Cheers to another 10!
A wonderful game, I hope it will develop and grow further!
What a wonderful video to celebrate 10 years of Elite Dangerous! I'm looking forward to the year ahead!
Looking forward to more vids! ;)
@@cmdrHeliaxx I shot a lot of footage during the Battle of Sol, so you probably won't have to wait too long! :)
Congrats on 10th year!
Yes please keep focusing on Elite from now.
O7
We are Elite. o7
The BEST Space game, The BEST development team, The BEST Community!! Here's to 10 more years!!
The best bot
@@ReggieCuriel what you on about lmao
@@cmdrHeliaxx lol - I guess he hasn't noticed his channel?
Thanks Elite for providing me with 8 years of salt and meme creation. Now give us ship interiors.
Elite will always be incredibly special to me and my dad! One of the greatest games of its time and today! o7 Cmdrs
I first played Elite in the mid 80's, again in the 90's and since 2015 i've played ED (on and off). Thank you to DB and teams and happy Birsthday!!
Elite Dangerous was my first ever major game purchase, I can't express in a short comment how much positive impact this game has been in my life. The community of players that has formed is just so amazing. Congratulations on the 10 year anniversary. Its a well earned one!
What a game.
Thank you FDev for making a fabulous game. It has provided me endless hours of enjoyment, a cool sandbox to create stories in, and a great community to be a part of.

As much as I relentlessly meme about it, the fact is: there really is no other space game like Elite.
Keep flying mad my lads :3
i mean, there is.... and games which go way beyond it
I remember when Elite came out back in 2014 and I was still midway through High School.
About to finish my Aerospace Engineering degree in May, now. Pretty wild how quickly time has passed.
I truly believe Elite opened my eyes to space and grew my passion for it and is part of the reason I chose this career path.
Hopefully in a couple years I can work on some rockets :)
Hope to see more coming to Elite in the next 10!
It seems more important than a game. I truly believe we are the early pioneers in the first decade of a game universe that will span for centuries.
I really hope so. It would be amazing.
So happy to see the Buur team in this !!! They are a true pillar of the community
Epic ❤❤
Happy Anniversary!:)
Thank you and congratulations on 10 years of excellence
Happy Birthday E:D. RIP Michael Brookes.
My thoughts exactly when I saw this video pop up. ❤
This is the game of my life-nothing else compares. Thank you for countless hours of playing, fighting, and exploring. Every time I fasten my seatbelt, a journey from my childhood begins.
Happy Birthday Elite Dangerous
This game gave me the feeling of an real explorer, we are born in a time where discovering new lands is done and we are rather far from going to new planets outside of Sol, i love the feeling of loneliness when i am again on a solo exploration trip through the Milky Way
VR in the whole game should be next.
they dropped vr development years ago
@@Boemel Sadly true.
Forget it, it would take a miracle .. (but I agree totally with you) .. it was intended to be full VR from the beginning, as it is natively supported .. but .. these 'newer' developers lost the vision along the way. .. imagining VR on foot, that would be really huge! (..as flying is already close to wonderfull, if only immersion could continue after landing .. )
@@deniaxdeniax in anticipation for Odyssey i completely built a new gaming desk to easy swap between controls, i even had a moving hardwired hotas setup that stowed away. the nwhen the dlc actually dropped and we only got that fade to black dissapointment, no ship interiors and no onfoot vr i literally smashed it all to bits. sounds kinda lame but i have played this game since its launch, put a long of money into it over several accounts and thousands of hours...a disappointment that big i hardl couldn't handle myself, i punched my desk to hard i had to go to the er for xrays.
@@deniaxdeniax I am not giving up. They will have to put up with me till hell freezes over.
The Titan meltdowns were one of the greatest moments i've ever witnessed. Happy 10th anniversary, o7 all.
Thank you for Elite! Best Space Sim out there still, no comparison at all. o7! Also...EVA please? 😏 The only thing now left that I think would really put the freedom of it on the next level 😁
This is something I will always come back too. I've been playing ED since release, Elite way back in '85. didn't do well playing the '93 or '95 versions, but since ED, I've never looked back or played anything else. I think this is way better than anything else out there, and now colonisation is just around the corner, it just get's better and better. Thank you o7
Happy 10th birthday, Elite: Dangerous!
