    you made me reconsider my decision of using conquest as pure support/long range artillery.
    And I'm not dissapointed.

      In the last patch, not the current one. I actually went with asymmetric layout rather than focusing on purely long range.
      One side was focused on long range and shield bombardment. The other side was focused on close range, heavy armour damage and get this, Thumpers for hull damage. I found it to be quite satisfying and fitting for Conquest as well. It's the best capitol ship to control engagement range. So gain a shield/flux advantage, drift in close and switch sides and blast them hellbore, thumpers and storm needler to threaten overload if they dare hold shields up vs the hellbore.

    can you provide a list of full loadout, cause i struggle to recreate this, especially movement speed

      The speed mods and skills have been nerfed heavily, so you can't recreate exactly this in the newest version.
      In the old version(7.2) the zero flux boost with with the skill was 25%
      In fact in 9.0 you could still make a cut down version of this build in terms of speed if you precisely control what guns fire and when, to keep yourself in zero flux boost which was 5% with the skill.
      Since the dev has further "fixed"/nerfed it to 1%, it is now rather impossible to maintain the exact same speed as shown in the video.
      Here is what you can do in the current 9.1 version th-cam.com/video/D60GaTafibE/w-d-xo.html. Exactly the same outcome, just takes a lot longer.

      @@Ashurruhsan Ok i got it, but anyway my speed limits is 65/115/165 and not 190, what did i miss? "Helmsmanship" 3 perk + "Unstable injector" and what else? Or it was nerfed too. And i am kinda new, i want to force this 8-10 energy mounts focuse fighters/bombers/inteceptors and rockets in the first place and make ships lowest priority targets, can you suggest energy pd weapon for conquest? Or should i use "integrated point defence AI" hull mod? Currently i am stick to "extended shields, since with it they cover full side of ship, so enemies what left behind cannot hit my engines while i absorb damage from the front.

      @@PainProjection The conquest is one of the most undefined ships in the game I would say. It doesn't have a specific strong role that it excels at but it does everything kinda well. Really it has the biggest amount of possible loadouts depending on your own taste and play style. Depending on how the rest of your fleet composition looks like a the optimal loadout for the Conquest changes as well. Just make sure it's player piloted and has a complementary build to your fleet and you should be good.

    Then there’s me taking it and it’s amazingly inefficient shield and using it as a frontline anchor ship. Why? I have no idea but it works really well, even when it’s the only capital in my fleet and my only other frontline ships are *ramparts* (praise the BRICK!)
    gunna have to try a speed demon build at some point. As long as I can still slap typhoons on the front to rapidly swing the nose around with the maneuvering jets, I’m happy.

    You can modify all starsector ships by going to starsector-core/ships, then there should be a graph application on there at the bottom, clicking on it will lead you to all starsector ships and you can change the speed, flux, armor, health, sheild coverage, make it omni or stationary, adjust the amount of damage the sheilds take, cost, supply requirement and much more. You could have made the conquest go 1000 with super acceleration

    Were you using PDAI? I noticed the tactical lasers were targetting the missiles from the opposing ships.

      Don't remember the name but yes, the tactical lasers are used as point defense, at longer ranges it can handle some pesky missiles well enough.

      Speed and range is the best answer I can give you that you can use in any game version. Both were nerfed in future game versions but you can still do the same thing, just it takes you longer to get the same results.

      ​@@Ashurruhsan I already have a fully capable fleet of not too op mod ships. (I keep it interesting). I have two Victory class battleships they have really awesome modified hephaestus on the front built in, 2 Ocullian cariers with 6 slots each with remnant pd laser drones also the Traumtanzer running mrvs and tachyon from the Rosenritter faction and two Tritanite warships from the Lanestate union both running 3 plasma guns each. As support i have 5 standart long range pressure LG Eagles with maulers and HV drivers. I basically want to add another LG ship to complete the LG set.

      @@Ashurruhsan I built my conquest with 2mirv 2 railguns and 2 heavy maulers and 4 lrpd, I've read that putting the two broadsides on different action groups makes the ai better. So far it can 1v1 every vanila ship i throw at it(exept bullshit phaseships with reapers who run away a lot) in sim with no comander.

      @@pauliusUwU My current favorite way to play Conquest is having a long range side(gauss cannons and Hypervelocity Driver) and a close range side (Storm Needler and Hellbore Cannon in the Big slots and Thumpers in middle)
      So you control the distance of the engagement and get the shield advantage with gauss canons from far away, then once you have the advantage you use your superior mobility to flip your sides and get closer and hammer in the armour and hull damage.

      Did you ever hear the tragedy of Darth Modder The Wise? I thought not. It’s not a story the Devs would tell you.
      It’s a Player legend. Darth Modder was a Speed Lord of the Players, so powerful and so wise he could edit the the text files to create, speed…
      He had such a knowledge of the text files that he could even keep the ships he cared about from going slow. The text files of the game is a pathway to many abilities some consider to be unbalanced. He became so fast… the only thing he was afraid of was losing his speed, which eventually, of course, he did. Unfortunately, he showed the devs everything he knew, then the devs nerfed him in his sleep. Ironic. He could save others from slow, but not himself.

      Not that much, a lot of the things got nerfed. You can still outkite them but it takes about 3 times as long to reach the same conclusion. Check the other Conquest vid on my channel "Conquest traveling at incredibly balanced speed" or something like that.

    Build 0.95 is out and with it new perk including 0-flux boost as long as you aren't generating flux. Any chance speedy boi conquest could have a revival?

      nope, every shot is generating flux and that effects cuts there, but as of now you get speed boost when you are overloaded and that is getting patched, thank god and the devs

      Considering optimal loudouts change based on your fleet composition, your and your captains skills, your playstyle/tactics, your idea of fun. There is many combinations to try and explore.
      Big part of the fun is making a solid composition yourself. With the in game simulator you get to test and practice a lot of things which give you a good idea of how things will perform generally.
      Don't be discouraged by possibilities to fail.
      Be encouraged to explore! Explore the space! Explore the ships and fleets, explore combat in all it's fun.

      I mean all that means is if you turn off your shields and have hold fire then you can get 50 more movement speed for maneuvering. With a bit of control this could mean some opportunity to maneuver in or out.

    The fact that you won by using basically just kinetic weapons makes me believe even more in the fact that armor in this game is, ultimately, trash
    Please, anyone change my mind and give me some suggestions, because I'd REALLY like to use shield shunt!
