Today I’m reviewing the brand new Vans Comfycush Old Skool! Vans has started incorporating ComfyCush foam into their new sneakers at an extra $10 cost. Vans ComfyCush is designed to be softer and have more arch support than standard Vans. I picked up the Vans Old Skool to check out in this video. Are Vans ComfyCush shoes better than regular Vans? The Vans Ultrarange are pretty comfy.
i wouldn't call vans uncomfortable though, they're just shoes.
Breaking in old school vans is the most uncomfortable experience
I use these as my school shoes and I could not be happier. They're super comfortable and my feet don't start to hurt in them at the end of the school day.
Converse has been doing the lunar sole since nike bought them out roughly 5-10 years ago mostly in the skate editions or climate editions (one stars, or some models of chucks designed thicker to skate in) and Vans has been doing the “comfort cushion” but only in the vans Pro models otherwise known as “ultra cush” since like early 2009 as far as I know but it is amazing that Vans is bringing it more to the light towards the main crowd it generally changes peoples opinions on how uncomfortable vans are
I got a pair of old school lites early 2018 and they were probably the best shoes I've ever owned - especially as I was a bartender at the time. Sad the lites line is gone but comfycush will be my next stepup.

Vans has carved out an awesome corner of the market for themselves where they can be both affordable and still feel quality. Nowhere else do you pay $60 and feel like you’re walking out with a real quality product
the old skool classics are just that, a true classic, always in style, always functional, and even my broke ass can afford a pair whenever i need new ones
When converse did a similar thing with chuck 2’s I could understand it. Chucks have very little support and many people find them uncomfortable. But vans are comfortable already (for me anyway) great review BTW

I just got these after returning the Old Skool Emboss ones (too big, stiff and uncomfortable) and I can definitely say these are 100 times better. As someone who’s never had or worn Vans I’m pretty happy with the quality and softness of the shoe, you can definitely find sneakers more comfortable than comfycush but these are great for Vans
For popcush, did you use true size or did you use upsize?

@@driftingsneakers7302 it doesn't mean good fashion or outfit it's simply popularity but also comes with people buying them just to resell them which makes it harder to get and drives up the prices. But don't mean you have any sense of style just because alot of people like the shoe

Really doesn't take much to make the comfiest pair of Vans ever. The bar is already set so low.

I love Vans but I always had to put inserts into them so I could have good arch support for medical reasons, but now that I know these are a thing I'm definitely buying a pair.

Just picked up the blue ones! They are way more comfy then the regular vans . And btw the whole outsole is foam (the white part). Only the gum bottom is rubber
I always loved Vans' sneakers, but I must say, comfort wasn't associated with it... until now.
This year I've bought 5 pairs of Vans Sk8-hi Mte and a MTE DX and I'm a huge fan.
The most comfortable shoes ever! Even compared with Nike's Air Max 90, the new All Star Lugged version - (which I love!) and Merrell's Chameleon.

My doctor recommended arch support shoes but I didn't want any shoes that weren't vans. I went to pick these up and they are great!
glad to see your personality show through the vids more. the custom shoe designs are sick and the giant sole made me laugh. sneakerheads get a bad rap sometimes and this definitely helps :)

Just bought a new pair of All White SK8 High from the Colombia mall on break from work in Elkridge!
have you ever tried pro skate vans? they're designed to be more durable and comfortable for skateboarding than the classics, but they're great for casual wear as well. they have a foam insole that's soft and squishy but still has arch support and feels very comfortable for casual wear. I have the black old skool pros, and they have a few visual differences to the classics but feel much more comfortable and supportive, and are also more durable.
There's gonna be a new model, the "comfycush slip-skool", a weird hybrid thingg

Like the Chuck II Counter Climate collection, water-repellant canvas would be pretty nice on these Vans.
I ride bmx and I needed a new pair of riding shoes. I picked up the vans high bmx edition with the ultra cush padding. Easily the best vans shoe I’ve ever owned. Plus they have a special tread for riding on pedals which feels great.

I loved the lite editions but they were very slipery, i also have the ultra range which i use to run and i love them. It seems like these comfycush are lites with a gum layer to give it more grip which is fantastic. Will buy the black/black sk8 hi.

I appreciate Vans so much because they're mostly flat. I have no arch at all. When I step on the ground most, if not all of my feet, touch the floor. So, Vans have always been incredibly comfortable me. The Ultrarange in particular are so comfy
Hi! I have the same problem with my feet and normally insoles with arch support really hurt my feet. Have you tried these comfycush Vans with arch support insoles? I'm afraid to buy this version and realize that the regular ones are better for me.

I personally think these shoes could’ve been better. It’s quite underwhelming but definitely better than classic old skools in terms of comfort. But it sacrifices in terms of grip.
Imo the Pro versions of these are better. Better materials all around with more grip.

Got these already, it is very comfy, nice padding soles, doesn’t hurt and ur toes section are comfy too.
You should try out the Vans Pro model. It has a nice padded insole and fells way better then a regular pair of vans if your wearing them for a pond period of time

@@celeryking3483 i’d say almost instantaneously. Few months after getting it i went to a concert where i wore it for straight 48 hours. No heel/foot pain or injury. It was THAT comfortable.

Ultrarange Vans are the most comfortable by far. I call them my “old man Vans” 😂

I’ve tried the comfycush, and the comfycush are a little lighter than the ultacush pro, but the ultracush are definitely more cushiony than comfycush
For me, the vans pro with "ultra cush" insoles are the most comfortable by far.

I was told the new outsole on the ComfyCush versions are slip resistant as well.
I have the Ultra Cush pro Old Skool (better for skating) and I love them. I wonder how these feel compared to the Ultra Cush
Munchell360 I have those too, had em for over a year and they're still comfy Andrew surprisingly durable but I don't wear em for skating. I kinda want to get the comfycush and put the ultracush insole in em just to see how it feels😂

The comfycush is highly comfortable. Vans already are light-weighted. Adding the comfycush, they are just perfectly comfortable on feet.
I usually just buy the old skool pros, they have a comfy sole and is higher quality than the regular ones
Shaunyboy That depends how much you wear them, and what you wear them for. They definitely are a little better, but if you wear them everyday and walk a lot then they are gonna wear out quickly.
BFuruna YES those are so comfy and durable, had mine for over a year and they've aged just as nicely as the classics
they're higher quality with a better insole because they're meant for skating. they're built stronger to hold up to the griptape on a board.

The tongue elastic band is for skateboarding. You gotta tuck your laces in or they’ll get shredded by the grip tape.

I feel everyone forgot the lites ever existed. These are just the lights with a better interior and rubber outsole. I dont get the rebranding and calling them "comfycush" if they are just a simple improvement.

One issue I had with the first kush rendition is they wear down 5x as fast as my normal vans. And the dole wasn’t water proof.
Corey Baker you talking about the classic lites? those had no rubber outsole, just exposed foam, and they were super lightweight but not durable at all
Corey Baker that’s because those ones didn’t have a gum sole and not a normal mid sole I have a pair of slip on pros I skate and they’ve lasted a month so far without any major sole damage
I'm pretty sure the "one piece upper construction" refers to taped-over seams inside the shoe or something.

if they came narrow you should get them a lil bit bigger is like I’m a 9.5 but I always get them a 10.0 a special size and it doesn’t matter if they comfy or not They feel better like the slip on’s 😉👍🏽

Great review but in my opinion I don’t like this new thing and I’m a skater so it really is not good for skating for the foam and it doesn’t have that good of grip
If you’re a skater you shouldn’t be buying traditional style old skools. They’re like 70% canvas and tear up after a week, maybe less depending on how often you skate. I recommend buying the pig suede old skools for skating. They’re just like any old skool except well...it’s all pig suede, and I’ve had mine for months without any rips. I don’t think they sell them on vans.com anymore but you could definitely find them from another retailer or skate shop online.
Hey Seth Fowler I actually currently work at Vans and heard you say its made of a rubber outsole but actually it's made of a dense foam, thats why in the video when you compressed at the heal it had a little give to it. Compared to rubber that would have not happen, another thing about this shoe is that it is like the Vans Ultralights but with a rubber bottom instead of an all foam bottom. the insole is made of a memory foam like the memory foam you would see on the back table or wall depending where the memory foam is at. They are overall a great comfortable shoe and I really like them a lot.

otar67 yeah the cheapest vans retail at 50 those are the slip ons and authentics. you can get vans for cheaper at vans outlets but they have mostly just weird colorways that don't sell very well
Joey Simon you can buy the Vans Ward for $40 from Kohl’s. Looks the exact same as the old skool except it has a tag on the front of the tongue that says “Vans”. Very similar to how Air Jordan 1’s have the jumpan logo on the tongue tag or the tongue tag that says “Nike”.
Dont get all the comments on how uncomfortable the original Old skools were, i walked 237km in mine over the course of 2 weeks with very little discomfort other than that of walking that distance 🤷🏼♂️
They have absolutely no arch support. It's plain and simple. Nowadays they're cheaping out so much that the insole is a fraction of a mm thick. Exaggeration, but definitely the case.

So I got some vans “old skool” at DWS during a 40%off sale. With the original price $60 I didn’t think that anything of it. So about a month later I realized that the shoe was completely different. Looking it up, I found that it was a made for discount seller, and it still was vans but a crappy version. Thought it might be a good video idea.... authentic vs discount store.
Tounge straps are there so it doesn't move when you skate...🤦♂️

Was choosing between these and triple white AF1s for summer beaters, the AF1s are MUCH heavier, but a lot more comfortable
af1s are heavier though and wearing it for long can feel like a pain in the ass whereas vans get more comfortable over more wears. both give different aesthetics though. but imo vans are more comfortable than af1s
Converse and Vans are the most uncomfortable shoes I ever wore. You step on a pebble or a sketchy surface and you feel everything on the foot.
