It's amazing what's being built on the former U.S.' Milcom kaserne, in Hanau-Wolfgang... This whole location now is a pretty-much an upscale area, that's not only convenient, attractive and comfortable, but it's also an area that is totally surrounded by a great tree population and forests, which makes this an ideal place with a much higher oxygen level... We're not sure when this kaserne was activated with US troops and facilities, but we do know that the Hanau High School open for its first students in 1975. Prior to that though, Hanau high school students traveled to Frankfurt by military provided buses, for academics. Nevertheless, the New Argonner Kaserne was in operation much earlier then 1975. We believe that New Argonner Kaserne was activated around 1960. This estimation was reached because with have an aerial picture of this region from 1950, which also included the areas of the former Pioneer kaserne and Sportsfield Housing area, but it was still mostly forest... About 85% forest. Therefore, it's easy to realize now that the US military / Government paid for, and really carved out some valuable real estate, which our German friends and their economy is being enriched by... Yeah, mission accomplished! LOL! Thanks for stoppin-by and for sharing our videos. We appreciate it!

Man it almost brought tears in my eyes. My dad was stationed there early 80s before he got station in würzburg and was meeting my mom. No matter what base every single one leave some memories. Watching this makes me homesick but going back to nothing that's there anymore. Once every bases was full with live and joy. I totally miss it

My hometown is Wachtersbach. My uncle met Colin Powel when he was stationed in Gelnhausen. My brother in law was also there in the early seventies.

I was stationed there at Hutier Kaserne between 95-98 so I was there when you was there. I cant wait to go back and look around again in this location where my daughters attend elementary school.

Thanks for the video. I was a kid living in the Sportsfield housing area 1980 to 1983. Played baseball and football at those fields. From 1990 to 1992 I was a medic that worked at the TMC. Great memories.

I was with the 507th HEM Co. Pioneer Kaserne, part of 65, all of 66 and part of 67. I was the Company dispatcher. Great memories except the occasional alerts in the middle of the night. Yep. Irving. .....
