  • I am back in the hillfoots and this time, in a very soggy Menstrie. I had to dig deep to get through this one, but it was worth it in the end as the skys eventually clear and I get some stunning footage of the Ochils.
Not to let the rain dampen the day, Menstrie has plenty of surprises to keep you going, watch till the end to see one of Scotlands most bizarre castles!

Dedication, that’s amazing! I hope you didn’t get too wet, and had a nice hot bath waiting for you at home! You deserve a medal! Menstrie has so much to see, thanks again for sharing! Much love from Helen, Kelty! ❤❤

I love the information areas that Scotland has all over the country, cool history to be read. I always enjoy the drone footage.

Thanks for another interesting video, pity about the weather, but it's part of the nature of Scotland.

Absolutely loving your Hillfoots series. I used to live in the area, so nice to see it again! Is Coalsnaughton next?

DuMYat, emphasis on the second syllable. From Dun Maeatae, fort of the Maeatae (Iron age tribe). There are the remains of an Iron age fort on the South side of the hill, quite far up, I think there have been some excavations there recently.

Slowly working my way through the back catalogue and I've been binging the Clacks episodes this week. Worked in Tullibody for 3 years and spent a lot of time walking that Menstrie cycle path on my lunch breaks.

Amazing, that's why I numbered them, easy to go back and know where you are at.

Pity about the weather but brilliant video. The hill is pronounced Dum-eye-it so you did say it right. Thanks again.

I've often wondered about connections with Nova Scotia, given that the translation is New Scotland. Also, Andy Scott is the artists who created The Kelpies isn't he?
