We looking great mate there's nobody playing like us this is a special group under brilliant coaching these are the kind of special seasons that happen once in a while, isidor will finish championship top scorer by a mile
Came across your podcast some weeks ago. I've been a leicester City fan since the mid 90's, but generally in love with the English game. Living in Denmark it is often hard to keep updated on everything, and the mainstream channels are only interested in top of premier league, so I really enjoy your show. Looking forward to listening to many more episodes. ☺️ The championship is the real football to me. That and the lower tiers is where the soul of the English game is.
Starting to get a vibe that the juggernaut is rolling. If we stay focused and don't get complacent Sunderland are in for a hell of a season, we still have players to come back and new players to intergrade.
Hopefully, this is the result that kick starts are season. I thought we played really well, Simms and Wright were unplayable, more of that from them, and consistency, and we will be up there, i dont fancy us for the play offs, but its the championship a few wins and the complexion changes, so who knows...
You also have to take into account that Coventry City have an entirely new backroom coaching set up with new staff this season along with new signings. It must take time to sync all that and build relationships and understanding.
Oxford have quite a few injured, one our key midfield player Brannigan. Agree we have drawn quite a few but we could have beaten Luton and Bristol City. Also agree we will see where we are after next 2 home games. All in all still in a much better position than I thought we would be at this stage of the season and happy if we just stay up, COYY!
I thought you looked good defensively, Kioso had a great game, kept Mundle quiet and limited us to coming from the right. I’ve definitely seen worse this season and doubt you’ll be in trouble. I think your only player that looked poor was Vaulks but haven’t seen enough of him to know if he just had a bad day.
Sunderland seem to be an Ipswich this season, just getting on with things while everyone talks about the clubs with parachute payments. Luckily we don’t have a team like Leicester, who were a class above like last season. Still early doors and January is a worry, as we’ve got some really talented youngsters and we don’t want to get a reputation for standing in a players way if a good offer comes in.
Why is January a worry? We tied cirkin Ballard,Jobe,Rigg, down to new contracts in the summer if any maybe 1 leaves they will need to pay a lot of money for any of them so we're in great position & won't be forced as we don't need to sell
@@SleepyBoardGames-jk9up we don’t need to sell but for the model to work we can’t be seen to be standing in a players way if a big club come in for them. The worry is we get a good replacement but it takes a while to get them up to speed and we lose momentum. Hopefully we’ll get through January without losing anyone major, or at least get a loan back till the end of the season.
@@flannigan5 of course we won't stand in a player's way & the club will have our interests at heart they aren't letting them leave for free so they know what they are doing, if say Jobe leaves we have Browne, salis Semmedi, Alecsic to take his place,
@@flannigan5 plus these players have been here since the summer so will know the culture, style id we play & won't need time to settle but let's wait & see
Eith the whole Burnley thing. We had two golden chances that Steve Cook rather masterfully blocked. If we'd have won 2-0, nobody could've really complained, and it wouldn't be on the show, like last week.
Justin it's a long way to go but you say at this point?? We will lose some games but we are only going to get better, we have Aaron Connolly, Isidor & Mayenda to come back, if we don't finish in top two we will definitely be in the playoffs
Sunderland fan here. I feel really bad for Rob Edwards. You can see he’s stressed and taking it all on his shoulders. He’s clearly a good manager (I’d have him at Safc if we needed a manager). My personal opinion is, those players have tasted the premier league and it’s money.. and can’t fully get up for games in the championship now. They need to sort themselves out quick. Or Edwards will be the one that gets fired. Maybe they need a change. Who knows.
Guys, please stop bigging Sunderland up too much man! We're enjoying it right now but we keep on typically expecting a dip. We ARE Sunderland after all. 😂
I think we can get a result at Middlesbrough. However, I think sunderland win the championship this season, that's how impressed I've been with them. That will be hard to get anything from.
I think you 2 should take note, yes we have young players but they are now in their 3rd season in the championship so know what this league is about as do the experienced players we have Simon Moore Dan Ballard, Chris Mepham,Allan Browne,Patrick Roberts,Aaron Connolly, we have salis Semmedi on loan from lens who was playing champions league football last season, Alesse,Seelt, Huggins, were playing like this while having 8 players out injured mix of first team era & new signings who are still to play for us these players will continue to flourish
@SleepyBoardGames-jk9up I think you lot win the league, you're right, there's alot still to come and the ones you already have look very capable of winning the championship this year.
@@Maestro-e4d long way to go but all we can do is keep our run going well will lose games as this is the championship but we've shown character by bouncing back straight after 2 defeats this season which were down to our own stupidness a penalty & error from Patterson so not as if teams are cutting through us that's promising, teams are dropping points Leeds, Burnley WBA Blackburn whereas we are not, 5 points clear gives us the advantage of this f we do lose game & draw them we will stay top plus our goal difference of 14 is better than teams in playoffs
The BBC Radio Bedfordshire Luton commentator thought Luton's collapse was because of their exertions against Sunderland. He reckoned they just ran out of steam.
This Leeds team is so boring. Let's shuffle the ball very slowly from left to right, right to left and see what happens. Were Norwich this dull under Farke?
Just really does dislike us, hes hating us doing very well & hating talking positively about us, it was an easy performance credit tp ixford they tried but couldnt get anywhere near us
Sunderland were superb from start to finish.

Why cover only 8/12 fixtures guys? It does mean that listeners may not get to hear your take on their team for 2-3 weeks at times.
You also have to take into account that Coventry City have an entirely new backroom coaching set up with new staff this season along with new signings. It must take time to sync all that and build relationships and understanding.
The noise around Sunderland has now reached such a pitch that they will now have to have a wobble.

To quote a recent headline: "Luton back to their best." 😂
Simon Moore is a vastly experienced championship keeper so yes he didn't have much to do but he knows what this league is about

Cov back to normal against Luton, we battered them with 26 shots, we should have scored 5 or 6 tbh

They should get a new commentator.
Yorkie raisin all the way.
Even the teams in the bottom 5 last year had decent home records, beating or drawing with mid table sides at home. Not looking good for Portsmouth.
