In a technical sense... MV has been downgraded... but in doing so its actually benefits users. The new way they handle events and map sizes forces people not to make overly large maps (so break them up in more refined segments) and forces people to learn how to event more efficiently. MV is also still early in its life cycle... and has some insane plans to optimize it further with the complete change of its graphics library / sound system... and so on. I'd say that most of the concerns performance-wise will be sorted out eventually whether its from a user(plugin) or the company itself.
I barely got into RPG Maker with VX Ace, only to find a thing called MV existed, so I bought VXA for nothing. Tried convincing myself it was good enough but eventually made the switch to MV and am I glad I did. The layering is a dealbreaker alone.
Great video. informative and entertaining hearing some of the history of rpg maker! thanks echo! i am not a dev but my favorite is probably VX Ace i still have problems with MV games playing with controllers :(
I love your voice! Also, great video! I just purchased XP and VX ACE. I'm using VX ACE currently on a design, but now I really wanna go back and try XP! Thanks for a wonderful video!
Okay, I recently started checking out RPG Maker because I saw Fes coming out for the 3DS, but now I think I'm gonna save up for MV. I've been binging your videos (Love 'em, by the way, you are adorable.), and now I wanna make my own full RPG. I mean, I'm already writing a book, but I think I'd like to give this all a try. I've got a story and world ready and everything. Can't wait to eventually get my hands on MV!
I started with rpg maker 2000 when I was like 14, I learned the most I could while making a game as I went (basically experimenting with everything I came up with at any given time, a total mess of course). I remember making a short open-world game based on the Vampire: The Masquerade, but with basic 2D shooting (those were the times of "engines", before scripting) and normal battles. I did try Sim rpg maker 95 but only for the novelty factor. At the time 2k3 came out I was playing the snes final fantasy games so obviously I almost shat my pants. After I learned the changes from 2K I actually took the time to write a full-fledged story and plan the mechanics before starting the game (plus I didn't have a pc at the time). 2k3 is by far my favorite. When xp was released it felt like a stepdown, no video playback, no sideview battles, and by that time I'd started college so I didn't have time to learn scripting. I do miss the option to change character sprite hue/blending/opacity in MV though. I stuck with 2k3 and tried every new maker that came out to see what was new. So far the second favorite for me is MV (and only 2nd due to nostalgia factor), it has the best features of all makers (or at least most of them) and plugins are really easy to implement. VX ace came pretty close (even without an SBS) but the mapping system is just akward to use.
XP was the best even despite it's pereformance, scripting and lack of multiplatform export. Editor was pure joy to use. I was making big prerendered maps. in style of Baldurs Gate. Sadly at the time I was easyli discouraged by any and all problems so my old projects never ended up finnished.
You're a breath of fresh air in this community Echo. I came across you just recently and although I don't have MV I still enjoy your videos. I have XP myself. I have Ace as well but haven't used it, determined to at least do one finished game in XP before moving on. I had 2k3 before this and definitely loved that one. XP at least for me I have become so bogged down in details I'm just having trouble going forward. It's difficult being a demigod I suppose. I really love the customization that XP offers, and while it's taken me a bit I love the mapping on XP as well. If you're inventive you can make it work. And as you mentioned you can find loads of scripts and resources for XP. The drawback being that the scripts you find are usually no longer supported by the author (Looking at you Victor Saints). Anyway love your channel keep it up!
RPG Maker MV is definitely my favorite. It has a lot of really easy to use features that let you just jump in, default Side view is back, the layering is cool and easy to use, I've spent a rather long amount of hours using it compared to the others.
I like Xp the most. Mainly because it was not only the first system I grew attached to, but has alot more to offer in terms of customizable features. I'm also more use to the Sprite art and battler art from that game than most of the newer Makers. Still, even though I've had it for years, I haven't been able to focus on an RPG I wanted to make as I really don't have the dedication I should have to really make a solid title. That doesn't mean I've given up though, as I find that everything is still usable for making Sprite Comics, kinda like the old Bob & George webcomics that used a Crapton of MegaMan Sprites 😄 Whelp, time for this old Xp maker to go to work. This video was awesome Echo, really brings back Memories.
I ended up with a copy of VX Ace, and in trying to understand how to use it, I came to this video. I guess it's alright for me having absolutely no idea what I'm doing. XP looks like the real swag too though. Also ENTERBRAIN, and HTML. mind blown.
i appreciate your opinions on the engines, personally i am a novice at RPG creation, but that doesnt stop me from loving the community and the creations that spawn from them, hopefully i can offer my own creations one day on MV.
The only RM I used before MV was VXAce, which thankfully enough made MV very familiar to use, however it seems with a lot of plugins added to MV, anytime a large amount of water tiles are shown on the map it lags a lot, no idea why though, I still like MV over VXAce. It's very useful to just put your game online and there you can play it. =D
Something I'd like to note about VX Ace: Its fullscreen mode tends to lag heavily on newer versions of Windows 8. There IS a script that fixes it, called Fullscreen++ if I recall correctly, but a lot of people don't use it which makes it so you have to put up with an extremely low framerate (I'd estimate around 15 to 20) or play the game in a really tiny space, which is quite offputting. I can confirm it's related to the OS because it worked fine on 7, and stopped working after installing 8. I haven't tested it with 10. I should probably do that.
+Dullstar2XQT Good to know:P I skipped win8, but it seems to have a lot of issues with XP, apparently VXa as well:( I haven't exclusively tested VXa for problems to any massive extent, but I haven't found any lag issues with win10 at least:3
I'm wanting to try to put together a JRPG in the fashion of the old Lunar games for the PSX and SCD. Would you recommend VXA or MV. MV already has Sideview battle system in place, but I'm not entirely sure about the other parts of the game. What would you suggest if you were to try to do something like that? Thanks in advance :)
The first RPG Maker I got was VX Ace, so I didn't really notice the problems you mentioned as much. I only got MV last week, but I actually prefer it over Ace and I think it's now my favourite.
Thank you so much for making this, I'm thinking about getting an RPG Maker game for the first time and this is super helpful :) If I can get MV for a decent price in a Steam sale I'll go for that, if not XP seems like a safe bet.
MV's character generator is 50x better than VX Ace's generator. The faces don't look like crap, you get image previews to see instead of scrolling through a list, you get more customization options, etc. Also, it gives you the ability to put multiple character graphics on one image with the character creator by clicking import and putting in one of your existing graphic sheets, which is a lot faster and more convinient than saving your two images, going out of VX Ace, pulling up an image editor, putting them together, then saving, then using it in RPG Maker.
Wow I never noticed that! Enterbrain!!! Lol personally I like Ace only for the simple fact that it's the most detailed one with the most features so far, but I'm sure that will change once MV gets more plugins for it.
yeah, I noticed having difficulties making a map in mv. It just feels very limited. But keep up the good work, Echo. Love the vids, especially your godsend tutorials
My favorit maker will allways be 2k. I learn so much with it and here in germany we have the "Forgotten ebook" with many tipps and tutorials. It was a really great time back then and this burn into my heart. Besides all nostalgics i go with a mix between Ace and MV. XP was really a good one, but the switch between 2k3 and XP wasn´t really smooth for me (don´t know why o.o). MV, as far as i can tell now is great and even with the cut to 20 event pages it´s still great working with. At the start i was a little worried, because all the Scrips for VX/Ace need to complet redone and that needs a really good time. But now, we have many good Plugins (thanks to all devs). But in the end, i own all (besides VX, only Ace) Makers and for nostalgic i work with all of them time by time again
Ive spoken with multiple programmers, and they all agree that the scripting in MV makes more sense and is easier than in ACE. Ive been learning to code recently and I can definetely agree on this.
+James Westbrook I'd have to agree mostly due to learning Java and Java script before Ruby. That and Ruby was deisgned to help people make web pages easier then HTML. Ruby's almost alien to me Java and Java script are much easier for me.
I've been using VX Ace for maybe 8 months now and from watching the other versions, it looks like I'll stick with Ace until I improve my skills and become dedicated enough to but XP
i've fiddled with RPG maker for the ps1, and RPG 2 for the PS2 sadly i couldn't wrap my head around them. i then picked up RPG maker VX ace lite, so i know how it was to be extremely limited on what i could and could not do. then when RPG maker MV came out i grabed it and have been using it ever since.
+cadlyn Oh god I remember those for PS1 and 2 yeah they were very cumbersome. Hard to make them look good. No matter how much you tried it always seemed to look barren. But I guess as far as 3d editors go not bad. My world ended up with this huge chasm right in the middle of it. No matter what I did I couldn't smooth it out or diminish it. So I decided to create lore around the thing and claimed it was because of some ancient super weapon that nearly cleaved the planet in two.
O.o is this really your voice? Im getting flashbacks from when I lived in japan lol. I dont know who but you do sound a lot like someone I know there. Aaaaanyway... Thanks for your videos I finally made up my mind and I will be using RPG Maker MV for my post graduation in game design. I never knew it could be such a powerful game engine. Thanks a lot! Cheers from Brazil! ❤
I came in on Vanilla VX, and found it simpler for a younger me to work with than my friend's copy of XP. That version definitely holds lots of nostalgia for me, but I'd be amiss if I didn't admit MV is superior in almost every way.
That's a kinda hard answer, I didn't even know about RPG Maker until I seen my brother using VXAce, the little game he made inspired me to make my own, but I never really liked the tiny character for general use, so I like XP more in that aspect, but there's just so much more I can do with MV. So I guess overall I'd say MV
Very cute educative video. I don't understand "we dont talk about vx" .. at one point it was my most experienced program while i skipped ace. I loved everything mv did in favor for this software, no rtp + maximize window are giant appealing upsides. I felt unmotivated to make a game with previous knowing those who play my game have to play at a small window or fullscreen in a way that isnt like borderless or customizable, installing something by default, there may be workarounds to all these but idk, wasnt long i started actually using plugins and switches more. The whole item cap / event page cap / map size is interesting to know. I can't think of why there should be a map over 256x256... project zomboid-like maybe? Dunno what changed in mz I'll have to see lol. VX is the closest i got to finishing a game but it wasnt original, xp/2003 were fun... so my least experience is literally Ace and whatever is ported in consoles.
Oh, and the airship. The airship or something like it is a must for the current project. I made an RM2K project based on this webcomic of mine back in... Gosh, 2002? I don't know... And it stars a comedic superhero animal sidekick type. At a press of a certain keyboard button I had him actually turn into the airship - which was an edited Sprite of him flying - and pressing it again had him land. You said something about ships returning, making me think they were removed at one point?
Ive used all the RPG maker (mostly) from 2000 to MV but only really started getting passionate about it in VX Ace. I can honestly say that MV is FAR better then VX Ace and the introduction of Java support means there are more plugins readily available and more coming very often. I did enjoy RPG Maker XP and 2003 but for me, it's MV for the win.
I want to get one of them, but I don't know what to get. I would go for MV, but it's pretty pricey. I don't know if XP can satisfy me, when my goal is to make a pretty big game. I've watched a lot of tutorials on MV, and it looks like it works best for what I want to do, But again, I'm not sure if paying 80 bucks for it is worth it. I know for a fact that I'm going to make my decision before the 16th of October, just wanted others opinions on it first. Have a nice day, all comments will be taken into consideration, thank you.
I went with VX Ace because of the bigger map maximum. '500x500 for Ace' and I believe MV's maximum is '256x256' So that may be a deciding factor. I'm actually hoping they will come out with an RPG maker that will allow for 1500x1500 maps. Yeah, I'm working on an epic rpg :) Which ever you decide on have fun and enjoy making a RPG :)
I personally use VX Ace, but I use MV from time to time. I prefer VX Ace because I can easily make my own scripts withing the program itself. MV has an excuse for not coming bundled with an interpreter (because it uses Javascript instead of it's own programming lanugage), but it's still hard for me to make my own plugins.
I've only used VX Ace and while mapping is my favorite part I do admit that it is a bit annoying to have to constantly switch to another graphic to make something such as trees overlapping trees (otherwise it looks so awful). The idea of a auto-layering system in MV sounds amazing.
I liked 2003 and XP a lot, but I could never really seem to wrap my head around getting them to work. I didn't like VX and VXA very much at all. But MV for some reason really clicks with me. I've been able to make some really great progress with MV :D
If you understand how to call events, basic conditioning, Switches and other assets. XP and 2003 can make some of the most beautiful and interesting games from my experience. Of course the limit is more so in the usability. MZ or MV are more organized so tracking what you did or what switches do what is far easier; and plug ins are less of a hassel.
I think the limitation of mapsize and eventpages is just for now. I mean its still in development Just like Battlers/Monsters you fight against: Looking at older titles you have over 20 and in MV you have 4 Overall my favorite maker is VXAce Not that XP is bad or that I dont like MV but XP felt a bit weird with its mapping and MV is still in development I bet that MV will improve to be a bit better than both (depends on what you are looking for of course)
I use both RPG maker VX ace and MV form my experience with using VX ace is it fun to use and once you get the hang of it the same thing goes for MV but what I really love about MV is the use of Plugins yeah I know I cant bring over any of my VX ace scripts and use them in MV but scripting wise they improved ALOT. Instead of spending hours trying to fix scripting errors I can turn off a plugin and see what causing the problem. But for what MV has to offer VX ace has more of a variety when it comes to scripts due it it being out for longer, if you want to make a cool Platformer you can with VX ace. If you want to make an awesome Android game you can with MV, plus if you want you can get your VX ace games to run on MV but you would have to resize all your graphics, tilesets, IconSet, and convert any audio that may not work in MV, I am not sure about any script call you used in your game would work due to MV using the Java script (VS) VX ace RUBY scripting but it is worth it in the end. Eather way both programs are great. RPG maker VX ace is on sale right now on STEAM for $7.75 the sale ends on March 28 2016. I think in order for you to get MV on STEAM is to have VX ace is required to be installed.
You can get MV on steam without ace. Also you clearly labled out all the reasons I use MV over ACE. MV has been so much easier to use than ACE for me when trying out plugins and scripting.
So far I'm screwing around with XP because I'm new to the whole concept. I'm using it as practice before I jump into ACE. However, I will say this, I kind of liked the idea of the characters being taller on the screen instead of very little, almost chibi like (no offense to chibi lovers). IF that's one thing I would take over to Ace and MV when I'm done with XP, that would be it-having taller characters and all that jazz. It's so much easier to get DLC and like sci fi stuff or Japanese themed stuff for the Ace. I wish I could find it on XP. I DID find some, but like you said, most of the websites that have the XP characters in them our out, or don't work anymore. With ACE and MV, the little DLCs that add Postapocalyptic, horror, punk, sci fi, anime, WHATEVER, those are often lined up, all their ducks in a row, with prices ranging from Free to $20 to have all those extensions. XP I have to dig and dig and dig, and I might find something cool like custom star wars characters or what not as animations for it, but that's it.
+ACEnBEAKY You can have taller ones you just need to know how to do it, Ace and MV it's basically the same process I know Ace also has scripts that let you do that. But XP and Ace have a script for pretty much anything you'd ever want as well.
I only made 1 very simple game in VXA with no switches no extra event pages no nothing the only thing that tracked your progress were very simple key items also the game is composed of only sample maps so u didn't really notice the change in MV
I liked RPG maker 2003 the most. The graphics looked nice, the games weren't too laggy even if you used a higher amount of events... And it had multi layer tilesets like xp and, most importantly, Event searcher, which includes even switches and variable operations searcher, allowed the use of midi files and last but not least, had key input processing. Parallax mapping wasn't that much of a problem, since if you needed to see the parallax background in the editor, you just needed to use a transparent tile (unfortunately though, RPG maker 2k3 didn't support Alpha channel, which made it a bit tricky sometimes. However, truth is, if you wanted to have a good battle system, you needed to design it yourself from scratch through eventing, because the default system of RPG maker 2003 wasn't too powerful. RPG maker 2k3 is still great for learning things, because yeah, it is not nearly as powerful as latter RPG makers, but it is the most user friendly one.
these people are complaining about low maximum map size and event pages, its giving up what wasnt even used and its still multiple times more than i use personally but i get it if you like large maps and overly complicated events
My favorite is obviously RM2K, since it and XP were all I used. I didn't do much with XP so I can't comment. I guessed I missed out. The problem is my team had already made over 2 hours of solid game play and the project leader, our programmer, opted to not use XP due to Sprite size changes and other things that made it difficult to Port our project over. Today I maybe want to make a quick game based on the first two issues of an upcoming comic series of mine for promotional/financial reasons, then, after the credits, plop the player back in to enjoy it as a sandbox game to complete new and old side quests and to be a general nuisance to NPC's. I want to sell it in Steam, maybe Google Play (I've never much enjoyed cell phone game controls, can it sync to a Bluetooth controller?), but I'm not a programmer and don't see me suckering one into working for free. I do want characters of varying height, the caterpillar system, a side view battle system, more room for comic book art details, and possibly animated cutscenes as I'm a trained animator. Which do you recommend? Or should I just stick to creating the comic series? lol
I used to be into RMXP, and I've been thinking about getting back into RPG Maker...I was about to buy one of the newer versions but wasn't sure between VX Ace and MV. VX Ace is often on sale, I have RMXP, and MV does go on sale often to but is still significantly more expensive. Really, I most concerned about what scripts and documentation would still be around with RMXP. After watching this video, I think I'll just start messing around in XP for, since that's what I have already. But I'll probably skip VX Ace and go with MV when I do "upgrade".
Well i disagree with Ace producing blocky maps. Using it myself i can tell you you are completely able to get pretty natural looking maps. In fact i think i did an pretty good job even with my very first. You dont need to use the a1 and a2 tiles, the later a4 tiles work completely without scripts, and to be honest even the a1 and a2 files does not prevent you from drawing curves or only 1 tile thig strings. It only affect the borders and height. So i really cant see the point of your argument here.
The characters' names spelling out ENTERBRAIN blew my mind. I have NEVER noticed that!

RPG maker 3 was what introduced me to it all!
The best feature in VX, Ace, and MV is Yanfly.
Also, I personally think XP is the worst but had the best mapping system.
+黑魔導女孩 I agree about VX/MV:3
XP makes a terrible in-depth game maker, but it's incredibly easy for noobies to pickup:P

I haven't exclusively tested VXa for problems to any massive extent, but I haven't found any lag issues with win10 at least:3
Just thought I'd say Ace's full screen is perfect on Windows 10. At least for me. The regular size screen is much more laggy. Oddly enough.
My fav rpg maker is RM VX Ace. I was using it for a long time and i got used to it, and it made into game development.
You are my RPG maker master , thanks you for all these videos :)
For multicopy: hold shift and select your range of items, copy, and paste
The music in the background *REALLY* suits your voice.
The first RPG Maker I got was VX Ace, so I didn't really notice the problems you mentioned as much. I only got MV last week, but I actually prefer it over Ace and I think it's now my favourite.
my favourite is MV, I'm currently creating a game called Questvale and its shaping up pretty well so far
Echo607 has anyone ever told you that you have a wonderful voice over voice... you'd be awesome at it. :)
Thank you so much for making this, I'm thinking about getting an RPG Maker game for the first time and this is super helpful :)
If I can get MV for a decent price in a Steam sale I'll go for that, if not XP seems like a safe bet.
My favorite RPG Maker is probably the one I started with, 2000. I still have all the games I made as a kid, bad spelling and all.
Thanks for the Info. It was really helpful. I think I'm gonna go with MV.
You sound like Ashley from Resident Evil 4.
The only RPGMaker I've used is MV and I really like it, yes it can be a pain in the ass some times but once I get it to work it works well.
I've been using VX Ace for maybe 8 months now and from watching the other versions, it looks like I'll stick with Ace until I improve my skills and become dedicated enough to but XP
Very nice review
i've fiddled with RPG maker for the ps1, and RPG 2 for the PS2 sadly i couldn't wrap my head around them. i then picked up RPG maker VX ace lite, so i know how it was to be extremely limited on what i could and could not do. then when RPG maker MV came out i grabed it and have been using it ever since.
I love your "Hey game makers!" Greeting. So cute. Haha
Been using XP for a very looooong time. Good old days.
I came in on Vanilla VX, and found it simpler for a younger me to work with than my friend's copy of XP.
That version definitely holds lots of nostalgia for me, but I'd be amiss if I didn't admit MV is superior in almost every way.
JUST GOT XP YESTERDAY IM SO EXCITED
I enjoy XP , I use it still to this day but for a Pokemon aspect
I am no longer wandering in the dark Forest of Ignorance. Thank you.
RPG Maker XP was my child-hood
I remember just fooling around with the battle system
I'm a VX ACE fan. I like MV, but there's just something about ACE I just love.
I started playing around with RM95, so.... yeah! :)
my favorite is vx ace demo cause nostalgia
1. XP was my first RM game!
2. XP is my favourite too!
Yes there is a shortcut to undo the whole map you press the rectangular tool or flood tool works too.
XP grew on me unbelievably fast
What a beautiful... wonderful voice
VX ace! I never used any other rpg makers! XD
I used 2k3 and xp, these others are new to me but it's been years since I looked into this... Also your voice kinda sounds like d.va and I love it...
MV really looks like a HQ NES/mobile-retro game with its preset asset graphics ,IMO :3
My favorite now is MV because they added a modern-like tileset for the people who doesn't like parallax mapping XD.

It would be great to have a plugin that will convert a grassy map to a snowy one. But as far as I know, none exist.
Ive used all the RPG maker (mostly) from 2000 to MV but only really started getting passionate about it in VX Ace. I can honestly say that MV is FAR better then VX Ace and the introduction of Java support means there are more plugins readily available and more coming very often. I did enjoy RPG Maker XP and 2003 but for me, it's MV for the win.
there is also smile game builder, it's pretty nice. you can make a 3d rpg game pretty soundly
I want to get one of them, but I don't know what to get.
I would go for MV, but it's pretty pricey.
I don't know if XP can satisfy me, when my goal is to make a pretty big game.
I've watched a lot of tutorials on MV, and it looks like it works best for what I want to do,
But again, I'm not sure if paying 80 bucks for it is worth it.
I know for a fact that I'm going to make my decision before the 16th of October, just wanted others opinions on it first.
Have a nice day, all comments will be taken into consideration, thank you.
There's free trials for xp and vxace if you want to see which one is best for you and get used to the software
Very big maps can lag tho
Just crack ffs, anyways I went with VXACE cause of the bigger maps, bigger the map = better the creativity.
I would upgrade to MV today, if it was not for the cost. The main reasons are the built in clickitude, and the vastly improved character generator.

I know that was sarcastic, but this was a massive problem for me in VXA; my game had soo many items!
I've only used VX Ace and while mapping is my favorite part I do admit that it is a bit annoying to have to constantly switch to another graphic to make something such as trees overlapping trees (otherwise it looks so awful). The idea of a auto-layering system in MV sounds amazing.
WHY DID 4:13 MAKE ME LAUGH SO HARD LMAO THAT ZOOM IN
+Thebravekitten66 XD Coz dem faces be scary!
Thx for the infos! There's a sale on Steam rn and I wasn't sure which one to get.
Also, you've got such a teeny tiny mousy voice it's quite cute ^_^
I have really enjoyed MV 😁
Nice summary!
I think the limitation of mapsize and eventpages is just for now.
I mean its still in development
Just like Battlers/Monsters you fight against: Looking at older titles you have over 20 and in MV you have 4
Overall my favorite maker is VXAce
Not that XP is bad or that I dont like MV but XP felt a bit weird with its mapping and MV is still in development
I bet that MV will improve to be a bit better than both (depends on what you are looking for of course)
Now I have the three... but I'm using VX Ace for my project.
I think my first time using RPG Maker was when I was like 7, and I did stuff with my dad.
XP's layer system was cool, but MV with the JS is just number 1 for me.
I have not transferred to MZ yet.
My favorite is mv, I tried vx ace and vx, vx was terible, vx ace was really good, and mv was the best!
#TeamXP
3:01 if you are a hetalia fan you will have the best look on england sprite
these people are complaining about low maximum map size and event pages,
its giving up what wasnt even used and its still multiple times more than i use personally
but i get it if you like large maps and overly complicated events
Or should I just stick to creating the comic series? lol
Those trees tho =O 10:00
I used to be into RMXP, and I've been thinking about getting back into RPG Maker...I was about to buy one of the newer versions but wasn't sure between VX Ace and MV. VX Ace is often on sale, I have RMXP, and MV does go on sale often to but is still significantly more expensive. Really, I most concerned about what scripts and documentation would still be around with RMXP. After watching this video, I think I'll just start messing around in XP for, since that's what I have already. But I'll probably skip VX Ace and go with MV when I do "upgrade".
XP and Mv are they I prefer
Well i disagree with Ace producing blocky maps. Using it myself i can tell you you are completely able to get pretty natural looking maps. In fact i think i did an pretty good job even with my very first. You dont need to use the a1 and a2 tiles, the later a4 tiles work completely without scripts, and to be honest even the a1 and a2 files does not prevent you from drawing curves or only 1 tile thig strings. It only affect the borders and height. So i really cant see the point of your argument here.
