I would highly recommend looking into breathwork or holotropic breathwork I have personally gone up to 4 minutes and it takes a lot of work to do so there are Indians that can go 7-8 minutes while swimming at the same time which I jus find unreasonable but it’s still very impressive nonetheless 😂😂

You have a natural talent for this, it took me about 1 year of practice to reach 3 minutes and about 2 years to reach 4 minutes.
    My personal record is 4:45.
I tried to swim the most laps possible underwater and after about 3.5 laps I blacked out and drown, I was hospitalized and almost died.
Please never ever hold your breath underwater without supervision.

Then you must have small lungs, when my dad used to take care of our small pool, i used to dive to the bottom, sit down and trying to hold my breath. I don't really remember my record now.
But while watching this video, i was trying to hold my breath. I got 1:30 for the first time. About 5 minutes later i got 2 minutes.
I am a smoker by the way.
But recalling that memory when i was sitting on the bottom of the pool, it was an unearthly experience. I was so relaxed, not hearing a single sound, it's like i was in a deep state of mind and i was doing it alone.
I will definitely do it again soon, since it was about 10 years ago...

I think the reason he found it hard to do it underwater was because he was tense. What you should do instead is: 1) Don’t think about holding your breath or being underwater, focus on a specific happy memory or something . Also have a positive mindset even if you don’t think you can do it because it’s kind over matter. 2) float with your back just on the water surface. 3) make sure your head is below your back because if it isn’t that means your tense at the neck and you are not fully relaxed. 4) don’t try counting in your head because even if you don’t think it will it will make you more stressed and tense. If you are timing it underwater don’t look at the timer. 5) don’t think of it as a chore or as something you must do think of it as something fun that you love because you can trick your brain and last longer. 6) you won’t always get consistent results so make sure to be patient with yourself.

Golden tip. Start swimming in distance while holding your breath and think about getting towards the distance. Not about the holding breath fact. Because you focus and think to much about it, it plays with your mind.
Make your body think you need to achieve the distance you swim under water and not about the holding breath. As always you are a goat and thanks for the vids!

@bigballerbrand5942 A while ago, I went swimming with my class, and at some point, they decided to test how long we could swim. When I was up on my first try, I was thinking about my breath the entire time and didn't get that far, but on the later two attempts, I thought about distance, and I got at least twice as far. Also, when I felt that weird pain in my lungs, I decided to see how much longer I could go and swam an extra 3-4 meters.

    • @a_high_pitched_haha3421
      @a_high_pitched_haha3421 ปีที่แล้ว

This is actally beacuse your bodys need to breath comes from a high CO2 Level in your blood not by low O2 Levels. By breathing multiple times before holding your breath you lower the CO2 Level in your blood so that it takes longer for it to get high again. That's also why e.g People who climb the Mount everest don't feel the low oxygen Levels in their blood. Because they still get the CO2 out of their body, so doesn't feel the need to breath.

You want to do what’s called slow hyperventilation take big deep breath not super quick or super slow. And do enough of them right before you dive and your body will have a lot more oxygen to live on. As well as it gets your heart rate lower. Which not only allows your body more oxygen but also reduces the amount of carbon dioxide in your lungs which is why you feel that “pain” when you hold your breath.

Over 30 years ago, bored in English class i figured out that by breathing fast and heavily that i could over-saturate my blood with oxygen and hold my breath longer. Along with mentally trying to concentrate on slowing my heartbeat i was finally able to hold my breath for over 5 minutes. A few years later some friends and i were spending the night at a hotel and ended up in their pool. I remembered about being able to hold my breath for a long time and tried it again. After 6 minutes i had to come up for air and i realized something.... my "friends" forgot, or didn't give a shit, that i was under water for over 5 minutes, because not one of them made any effort to even acknowledge if i was even still alive. Yeah, we don't talk anymore.

A trick that I use (and to be honest I don't know how it works so it may simply be a placebo effect or something to that degree) to stay underwater maybe 20 seconds give or take longer, is just to let out like half of my lung capacity, wait for the lungs to burn again, and let out the rest. I only do this if I feel comfortable about resurfacing quickly, though. I wouldn't necessarily recommend trying it yourself. I just started doing it around ten years old and since then, it's worked for me.

Actually every fit person can hold their breath for minimum of 4 minutes, you just to scared to hold that long. But that's just my point of view, who studied freediving for a month and achieved 5 minutes

his whole channel is just about not giving up on anything, if you want to do something, then keep doing it even if you fail, and fail, just keep going until you get it, even if life doesn't give you something in return...

Wow that's really impressive Mike to achieve in such a short time . Like imagine divers improve their breathing underwater after years of training .What would be really interesting is maybe taking this to the next level and trying it while moving through obstacles or sth like simulating an underwater cave.
