I'm late to all these videos. I've owned 2 2010 titans, I want and XD and I like the IDEA of the Cummins, but not too sure if it's worth it, but looking a ton of things up and watching all the videos I can about it before getting one. Not going with a 2016 IF I did buy one. Any feedback by anyone would be much appreciated
Just get both turbos rebuilt. There are a bunch of places all over the US that do that. They will even rebalance them. It will be more cost effective too.
I blew the engine in my 5.0 Cummins. Spun rod bearing and didn’t snap the crank. The piston actually hit the top of the fuel injector and broke the end off.
So on my 18 titan xd crank shaft broke as well as bearing went out. Put another engine in it immediately went out like 65 miles so waiting on the diesel shop yo out the 2nd engine in been without mine since april sucks!

The government is shutting down CFT?????
There some of the only people making cook shit for our trucks
I need a crankshaft and parts for my truck that sounds horrible.
Dude looks like you were in Western NC! That's where I live
Also don't think it would be a snapped crank since you were getting it to spin by hand

Thanks for the suggestion, I looked into it and got a quote from a shop that would save me a ton of money
Contact RDS in Michigan. They manufacture some great 9 blade turbos for duramax and might be interested to make some for the 5.0. Worth a shot.
I just got my titan back after sitting for 1 year 4 months warranty paid 19k for a 70k engine install. Rebuilding the old engine it's knocking
What?!?! $70K for an engine replacement?!?! Buy a new truck for less than that.
@@johnhenry1395 $19k for an engine with 70,000 miles.

I watched a video the other day from CFT. He said the the injector wiring can rub causing the crank to fail. It might be worth taking a look.

It would also be really cool to do a single turbo kit kind of like what CFT did but maybe with less horsepower.
Nissan now covers the low pressure turbo and actuator for 10/150. Probably could have had it fixed free.
Will they cover it on a deleted truck?
@@tjruss86 Apparently some will. But I wouldnt count on it. Worth a try.
Why didn't you start with dropping the oil pan? That would've been my first instinct.
Because that would make too much sense for this little fella
Keep them coming 👍
Oil in your intercooler causes a spun bearing?🤨🤨 Doubtful.
too much liquid in the combustion chamber. Pressure rises, bang, something breaks.
@@olddirtyburt7522 what does that have to do with a spun bearing? …it doesn’t.
Oil in a intercooler is normal
