I watch a lot of cycling videos on TH-cam, and this has been among my all time favorites - great video, showing a fantastic family trip with very solid cycling involved. Congrats to all of you!
Great video and awesome soundtrack! I've only done a handful of these climbs and this video really captures the awe-inspiring views. Keep up the great work!
Wow Wow Wow, thanks for sharing. Well done and hope you and your Dad had a good time. Very inspirational!! Loved the music. This will give me the drive I need for my training for the TA Tour in Feb next year.
I absolutely loved watching this! I just learned about the Haute Route and it looks like the views are as spectacular as I thought they would be. Hope you do the 2022 ride and share another video!
Thanks for making this wonderful video. Well done on a great performance. 2021 was my first Haute Route Alps. A beautiful event to have done with your Dad. Watching this video fills me with emotion but also happy memories. Great bunch of people I met along the way. Neil Cowie, Number 437, Scotland
Thanks Neil, hearing that it brought back memories and emotions for you makes the hours of editing more than worth it! What was your high point and low point?
Stumbled across this video by chance. Thought it was a brilliant insight into the Haute Route with some fantastic shots of the beautiful scenery you passed through! Fantastic video!
I was there riding with you my friend. So appreciate you making this video as you crushed the climbs. Hope to see you next year. Mike DePalma, Southwest Airlines / Fuji.
sick man. vid is great, and really makes me want to do this event. and it's so rad that you can do something like that with your fam, and somehow everyone can be involved. thanks for sharing
@@pedallingsquaresNZ It was a great ride! GC 243 and 3rd in F 40-49. Day 3 was a struggle for me due to the cold and overall length of the stage but overall I loved it. We did the Dolomites the following week too :)
Great video, sat here, do I or dont I for the 2023, did the 2012 Geneva to Nice and a couple compacts Alpe d'Huez but at 62 years a bit nervous for the challenge but the Haute Route have an amazing course for 2023, how did your father find the events he's done
Dad did find it very challenging, but had a great time. The event is run in such a way that it really encourages and supports riders at both ends of the field equally. Once you get the queen stage done then it’s all downhill from there. Both times Dad got stronger as the week went on. So my advice would be settle in on the first three days, eat plenty, and you’ll be fine Neil!
@@pedallingsquaresNZ Watching the video again as you replied, seen an iPhone used on some shots but what do you normally use for filming. Thumbs up for your music also.
Hey brotha great vid of the Haute Route Alps. Well done. Can you share the brand of the black and white striped jersey that you are wearing in the vid. Cheers.
Eat, eat, and eat! The legs will keep turning. Also looking at the course each day in detail, know where all the timed segments are and where good points to regroup are (before every valley section for example)
drink indian tonic water before a big race...i won`t bore you with how i found this out(broken collarbone was involved) 1 mug full couple of hours before you start is enough and you wont get cramp as used by the british cycling track team.
this was an absolute joy to watch. cheers
Thanks Daniel cheers for watching along!

Good luck Dave, eat constantly and you’ll smash it!
A very good inspiring bicycle film with a lot of bicycle spirit in it! 😀
Thank you Bjorn!

Great video, and wonderful tunes in all your vids for that matter. A breath of fresh air compared to most other cycling channels. Thanks for these!

@@3wirevacationrentalsmichae589 that’s the dream combo 👌
Great little film and brings back some great memories -I was a little bit further back than you in the field 😀
Thanks Chris!
Stunning video. Brings back so many memories. I'm with you on the brutally cold mornings; that morning starting in Tignes was just wrong...
Freezing! Also the day starting in Briançon was very chilly
@@pedallingsquaresNZ Pete, is this your music as the soundtrack, I think it is? Do you publish it anywhere?
Thanks for sharing. Great video with great music selection. Thanks for remembering me my worst day ever on the saddle to Alpe d’Huez…
Haha everyone has a hill that brings back bad memories! Mine is for sure Ventoux 😱
@@pedallingsquaresNZ so subjective! Ventoux is one of my favourite together with the Bonnette on Stage 6 or Stelvio during stage 11
I’ve yet to ride the Stelvio. Need to get into Italy next 🇮🇹

Another great video from this individual - thank you so much. Hopefully I can try and join you next year. I really enjoy your videos.
Thanks Andrew! Would do every event if these if I had my way!
Supercool, Peter. I remember the 2 of you during the Stages. See you in the Pyrenees next year ;-)
The Pyrenees would be an absolute dream!
Brilliant. What scenery. Would love to do something like that, but doubt I'd ever be fit enough.
You can definitely do it mate!
Great work on the vid and the race! How cool is it to ride w your dad?!? Chapeau!
It was great! Dad inspires me constantly
Great video Peter! A very nice take back to the event for me. I rode with your dad a bit :)

Amazing Mary! Day 3 very tough for me too. I hate the cold so I brought heaps of layers and was mostly ok except for the small Galibier typhoon
Well done.
Cheers monrezee!

In an event like this when every watt counts its surprising how many riders have their jackets flapping in the wind. Loss of 10-20 watts
True. The race is won and lost on the climbs though, and the flapping jacket probably has less impact on the climbs I think
