    I enjoyed riding the whole GB divide in July 2023. Luckily I had no time constraints although initially I wanted to go quick-ish. Eventually it took the whole month. One of the best experiences happened by chance in Biggar. I had camped there and on waking I hear so public announcements and following my ears I found the town highland show was on that day. I had a great few hours off the bike and experiencing something really Scottish 🏴󠁧󠁢󠁳󠁣󠁴󠁿 that hadn’t been on my itinerary. So glad I didn’t have such a tight schedule for this trip.

    Hi Pete, I’m watching your series after I completed the GB divide in July 2023. It was just as wet for me riding through Wales. One night I slept at the bothy in your video at 9:32. I hung all my wet clothes up but they were all still as wet when I packed them up in the morning. All the surrounding woods were wet so I couldn’t collect any dry branches to lite the fire in the bothy that might have helped.

    • @pedallingsquaresNZ

      That sounds very memorable! I wished I had stayed in a bothy whilst I was there!

    I've been to the South Island twice now. First time my wife and I bike packed from Christchurch up the Inland Scenic Route to Mt Cook, chopper across to the start of the Alps2Ocean R.T. Then in March this year, we rode the West Coast Wilderness Trail from Ross to Greymouth before catching a flight to Queestown to do 8 days of mtn biking around there. Loved every minute of both adventures!!! Now thoughts turn to heading back across the ditch to tackle some North Island adventures. This looks great! You Kiwis are spoilt for choice!

    This is great, thanks for sharing! Hard to believe it's done on an iPhone tbh, things have come a long way. I'm looking to start vlogging my rides around the city and figure I may as well use what I have instead of buying a whole new rig. Any tips as far editing software etc, would love to get some sweet color graded footage the likes of which you have here. Cheers

    • @pedallingsquaresNZ
      @pedallingsquaresNZ 10 วันที่ผ่านมา

      I use Final Cut Pro x. But you could easily achieve similar on iMovie. My main tip would be managing the iPhone exposure levels. iPhone will always prioritise your face being very bright and often completely blows out the sky to try and make your face light. It will often also change exposures mid shot which makes the footage very obviously iPhone. I always long press on the screen to lock the exposure when my face and the sky is in the same shot For me colour grading is a distant 2nd as the exposure is always my number one

    What size tyres do you recommend for wellington gravel riding?

    • @pedallingsquaresNZ
      @pedallingsquaresNZ 2 หลายเดือนก่อน

      The majority of Wellington gravel in the city is essentially single track mountain biking. If you’re doing the remutaka cycle trail this is pretty easy gravel for the most part (apart from some coast sections which require walking). I’d say most people opt for 45mm tires for their gravel bikes locally
