As a kid in the early 90s that scene when she says cosmic moon power was so epic, I never forgot it 😅 the Queen’s deeper voice and the power behind it and the word “cosmic” being used I think for the first time…yeh it was epic and still is!! 😍

I love the dub, it’s emotional!
People complained about the "cosmic moon power" title, instead of "moon healing escalation" but people weren't so deep dived into knowing about how healing/purification spells were so abound in anime and magic from video games and tons of other anime then. Also the idea they borrowed from S3 may have been entirely unintentional. Also, she isn't sailor moon who is essentially amatuer in using it until the final battle and she summons her friend's ghosts and begs for help from the crystal, doesn't just do it in an instant. It feels more like she has matched her mother's power by Super with the heart moon rod and cosmic power transformation by then, or rather surpasses when she is able to go super. Even with the viz dub I still see it like that. And then later on she surpasses her from super to eternal and then obvious at least pre-death phantom (when he was some monstrous humanoid not like death itself or a living planet depending on which anime version your watching or manga/90's anime).
Escalation is meaningless jenglish to me. Cool sounding English buzzwords to be flashy for the sake of being flashy. What is she escalating? An IT ticket to a systems analyst?
@@RecoveringChristian I mean the idea is that she is escalating the power of healing as a weapon. But I still mostly agree. Since the attack was spoken in english in the japanese dub, it probably is english buzzwords lol. When she says it to erase the bad out of reborn people or even try to save Tuxedo Mask it makes way more sense, but this ending fused monster of Queen Beryl and Metallia...no. Should've just been "Silver Crystal power" but then the people would complain they borrowed that from an attack in S5 lol.

About the Silver Crystal Queen Serenity has one. Princess Serenity/Sailor Moon, Small Lady Usagi (Chibi-Usa) All have on, Princess Serenoty's wasn't waken at that time. Sailor Moon wasn't needed and Chibi-Usa has her own silver crystal known as the pink moon crystal. In the new Sailor Moon Eternal movies it shows all of the Sailor Senshi's crystals. It's how they became super. So it isn't only Usagi and Chib-Usa that has a crystal but they all do. Usagi's is the strongest and most wanted.
Since you're going by the Manga lore I agree. After all the silver crystals are their individual souls. They all have the same infinite power however since it's their individual soul it goes by their heart meaning if they have doubts, weak determination etc. They won't get stronger and access the true power of the crystal. Out of the three of them usagi is the most powerful due to her pure heart and unrivalled courage. Also in the Manga princess serenity didn't need to become sailor moon and it wasn't because SM wasn't needed. Usagi become SM in this lifetime because that was a part of the plan to protect her. There's supposed to be four guardians and one princess, venus was pretending to be the princess while they had usagi pretending to be one of the guardians. They switched roles hence the reason luna memory was sealed away so she wouldn't recognize usagi therefore making her a guardian. All of that was part of Queen Serenity plan. Usagi chose to continue fighting as a guardian so that way she will put her life on the line for her friends just as they do for her.
In the 90s anime however the storyline is different the silver crystal is a handed down object from mother to daughter. Chibiusa is using her mother's crystal (with is now hers) to be a guardian and fight in the past. In season 5 it gets a little confusing it implied that the crystal was usagi soul which contradict what they have been telling us in the previous seasons. But then again the 90s anime made nods to the Manga without thinking whether it made sense to the series storyline.
I've seen a lot of people's comments who mixes up the storyline of both. The 90s anime has its own story if there's gaps or things that aren't explained properly then that the fault of the writing, information from the Manga can not be transferred in to make up for what it lacks and vice versa.
Don’t forget Prince Edymions golden crystal. It rivals the silver in power too.
@Alice Pie True. The 90s put Sailor Moon anime out faster than the manga. It's why it got so muddled and hard to understand. I did have the luck to read the Sailor V manga than the Sailor Moon manga before the anime. The 90s anime will always be ok to me. I love the Mangas to the moon and back.

I like the manga dream arc and Reboot of Sailor Moon better than the 90'S anime because it shows a sign quote "Accept the things you cannot change, have the courage to change the thing you can and have the wisdom to know the difference" . The prayer shows what happened in the manga and Eternal backstory of the moon kingdom were Queen Serenity sealed Nehelania away inside the mirror with power of silver crystal but this was a mistake of sealed her away though it was the right way instead of destroying her but this was wrong that would lead to consequence because Nehelania but a curse on her daughter Serenity would but the doom the Moon kingdom which is to Accept the things you cannot change but now is up to her daughter Sailor Moon to make up the mistake to fix things to make things right to destroy Nehelania by having the courage to change the thing by using the power of Silver Crystal, the holy grail and the power to her friends she becomes Eternal Sailor Moon, she defeat Nehelania once and for all so what happen to the Moon Kingdom can never happen again on earth and the universe and restored everything and makes things better than before which now has the wisdom to know the difference with power of love no matter what and why I the Manga, Crystal, Eternal and Cosmos of Sailor Moon it makes sense about everything the Serenity prayer to signs of consequence of making mistakes but we can always fix things to make things right no matter what with courage and wisdom with the power of love will always triumph over evil.

Shameful that Queen Beryl coveted Prince Endymion's (Darien's) heart, which rightfully belonged to Princess Serenity (Serena). Equally shameful that Queen Nehelenia coveted Helios/Pegasus, who rightfully belonged with Rini.
Neither of those stories were present in the 90s anime.
Nobody's hearts rightfully belong to anyone or anybody.

In the silver millenium, there was no sailor moon. It was only when queen serenity reincarnated everyone did the silver crystal serve as usagi's sailor crystal
All of the moon family hss one. Usa has the pink moon crystal. The crystal isn't to one person it's her very soul. In the manga and sailor moon csytal. All of the senshi have their own crystal.

My question is… why couldn’t she freaking do that right before Queen beryl and her army were about to attack????? That always bothered me as a kid when I first saw this episode. Queen Serenity was elsewhere when the battle started when she heard about it she rushed there to find the enemy killed everyone after despairing for a while she dealt with the enemy. If she was present from the start no one would've died.

The spell she is using is called moon healing escalation, which means she is escalating the power of healing which she uses the seal away Beryl and Metalia also this makes better sense than using the power phrase for season 3 because it is plainly obvious Queen Serenity is more powerful than sailor moon at her third level of power. If the dic dub wanted a better name they should have just used Moon Crisis Power since the they were in a crisis but nope they choose a bad name.

I think they love her the same. We don't get to see Usagi grow up as Usagi and we don't get to see Queen Serenity much. Ikuko loves Serenity a lot. I'm pretty sure Serenity would get mad at Usagi if she saw her grades were that terrible. All caring moms do.

@@ericanair9144 yes, I did, and as I said, it might not aged well, some pieces of that soundtrack sounded very synthetic and definitely didn't aged well at all. But, they where memorable in my childhood. Obviously I'm open to see someone do a remake of the soundtrack since technology has developed very well in the music area.

I prefer DiC's setting of "Cosmic Moon Power" being the attack spell and "Moon Healing Activation/Escalation" being used to heal/purge evil. It just seemed to be less confusing.
