"When I went to pick it up at my prich, it unboxed itself" - that is just funny!

I think the double locking screws for the jaw head rotation , is very important. Most don't have it, and the single screw seems to be a common failure point from reviews I have read of other similar units. There are potentially very large torques at play on these locking screws.

Thanks for th review. I was looking at the Vevor Vise in another YT channel and it got my attention. I also think HF now sells the ame vise as your old vise made by Central Machinery. It cost $89.99. Full-watch. 👍🏽🤠 8/18/23

Mine came exactly like that from HD today. The bolts were all over my porch... My fit and finish is worse than yours, unfortunately.

That sucks, it really does need to be packed better and I did send my contact an email about it, but it may not be something that's directly under their control as I suspect there are at least a dozen different retailers selling this same vice under different brand names. Depending on who you bought it from I'd either send it back or ask to be compensated.

Hi Chuck. i got a small one to work on the bicycle and im having trouble when im aplying a radial tension. i want to remove a hub, and when i turn the wheel fixed to the vise, the damn thing turns as well. it has only 1 lock on the turning part, wich i even tighned with a little hammer but i doenst hold strong. do you have any trick or know how to have the rotation part strongly fixed? or this is the nature of a small cheap vise? thanks a lot for any tip

Probably just the nature of a cheap vise. There's a couple of things you can do to the vise to make it better, but all will void the warranty, so if you want to return it and get a better vise don't do the fixes. And quite frankly, none of the fixes will turn a cheap vise into a good one. Simplest fix is to weld the vise so it can't rotate. You can also put some cross hatching on the swivel surfaces so they have some "bite" and will resist rotating. Of course this will also mean it won't rotate smoothly. It might also be possible to put a second locking bolt in it somewhere. Honestly, I'd just return it and get a better vise.

The jaws are 6" but it's not a true 6" vise, so they are very comparable
