  • This is a review and fitting of a new Vevor Machine Vice to a Workbench in the metal workshop. Unboxing, mounting and using. Very happy with the results.

Straight up perfect vid, thank you! No non sense, important things you mentioned addressed all my concerns, especially not smacking my side on the vice every time I walk past haha!

I love mine. It seems to be a great vise. These vises use ductile cast iron which is stronger than regular cast iron. The ductile cast iron is more like steel vs cast iron. It’s not brittle like cast iron. If you were to drill into ductile cast iron you’d get steel shavings. If you drill into regular cast iron you don’t get shavings, you get dust.

Hi Penrith, Yes very handy and versatile. Gets used often, the anvil at the back is also a great idea. Cheers Steve

    It isn’t that heavy

Hi Wyattsdad, No not as heavy as a 200lb anvil but heavy enough to do the job. Cheers Steve

@@Woodworkingmasterclass yeah I think it’s actually a good Vice. I’ve got that same one. I like how the jaws swivel 360 degrees. Supposedly it’s ductile cast iron which is much better than regular cast iron.

@@wyattsdad8561 The tube holding sections are really helpful too. I also have a set of Soft jaws with the that hold various shapes and sizes which is very convenient. Good investment at $15.00 Cheers Steve
