That looked sketchy bro. Hope you stay careful out there.

Yeah, I know it was a bit sketchy... but only the flight to the landing area. I had something like a 3.5 gliding ratio and a lot of head wind. I tried to fly kinda sideways for a while, in order to cover ground. It was a good decision to not fly completely straight ahead against the wind. I had some places I could have landed but I really wanted to land in the designated area and not bomb out somewhere in the town 😅 Yes, I stay careful... but thanks for your concern and message I appreciate that 🙏

@@Dvybz good deal, I like the content. It's interesting the places you get to fly; places I'm unlikely to ever visit.

Finally in Zermatt! Wow, what a scenery! I dreamed for a long time to fly here and after a long hike, I enjoyed my very first flight in Zermatt. If you enjoyed this video, I would appreciate if you hit the like on this one and subscribe for more. See you in the next video! ❤

    Hey mate,
    I really like your Videos.
I wanted to mention something, it appears on the video (at least how it looks) that you take hands off the brakes and put your front camera away just seconds before landing. You did this in Kandersteg too.
That seems really sketchy to me, if you have a collapse so low to the ground you need to react really quickly.
It's a comment with love, not being mean or anything.
    Fly safe!

Hey, thanks a lot for your message. That's really nice, I am happy to hear you like the videos. I completely understood your concern about me taking my hands off the breaks and being busy with my front camera. Yeah, you are totally right... if I am not mistaken, I didn't do that anymore after this flight. I realized as well that it's not the best thing to do, so I started putting my front camera sooner away (when I am higher over the ground) or I keep it in my hand, but I take these decisions earlier in the air, not when I am so close to the ground. Thanks again, bro. Safe flights 🙏

Kudos for walking up! (I'm one of the local tandem pilots @swissparaglide) 😎

@@Dvybz Sadly since COVID, they've basically doubled the price of the lifts. They are not interested in us fly types at all (Snowboarding & Mountain Biking were banned here for a long time... 🤷)

@@cabanford that sucks... I was there in July 2022 and the prices for the cable car are ridiculous. I had to pay 35-40 € to reach any nice take off site. I guess they care only for the foreigners with a lot of cash 🤷🏼

How much is the cable ride?

    • @Dvybz
      @Dvybz  11 หลายเดือนก่อน +2

It is expensive AF. Something like 30-35 € one way to reach this particular launch site. There are a couple launch sites that are higher than this one and it costs even more, up to 50 € for one ride, per person. I didn't take any cable car, I just hiked the entire way 😅

Honestly DVybz, you hiked 21/2 hrs to the take off site!!! You are as spectacular as the Zermatt views from the paraglyder!!! Great landing!!

That's really nice of you 😋. Yup, I hiked 2 and half hours just to take off and fly for 20 minutes. I knew it won't be a long flight but I wanted to fly nonetheless. I will have more videos coming up from Zermatt... paragliding and exploring the mountains. Thank you for your words 🙏

What beautiful scenery!! I always wonder what people think about “bumps” in other areas. I fly in the Sierra Nevada mountains and as I’m told by everyone it’s pretty much among the strongest and most turbulent places in the world to fly. I’ve only got 50 hours but almost all are in the Sierras. People say if you can fly in the Sierra’s you can fly everywhere. Pretty much nothing but super small and strong thermals here. I’ve almost hit 6 m/s climb in a 30 second average, I was seeing 8’s and 9’s during that time but the 30 second average was 5.8 m/s. I didn’t have any collapse that day but many did.

That sounds sick, man. Really cool... To be honest I like a challenge and this sounds like a lot of fun. So, a bit about me... I am used to fly in pretty much all conditions, so I know how you feel flying in the Sierras. Your 50 hours are 200 for others 😉. I can't recall having in Zermatt such climbing (unfortunately) but I've had 6-7 m/s in a 30 seconds average too... not very often but it's absolutely amazing. So I can say, there were no real bumps in Zermatt in the time I flew there. Thanks for the comment, buddy. I wish you a lot of fun flying. I post weekly videos 😀

@@Dvybz bummer that it wasn’t really working when you were there but still amazing views for hike and fly. I’ve got some flight videos from a couple of my hike and fly sessions, not nearly as beautiful, but still so much fun to hike up a mountain, fly off, enjoy a couple hours in the sky and land next to your car where the ice chest is waiting. Happy flights and safe landings to you my friend.
