Thank you for this video! I was able to relive memories of Zermatt from 2019! It was my absolute favourite of all the cities and villages we visited then. I had always longed to visit this place and so glad I did. Forget the expense, it‘s so beautiful you‘ll soon forget you‘re paying for it!

Yes incredibly expensive, some of the attractions are once in a life time due to the costs. We tried our best to have a budget and eating in and travelling as a four so we could share accommodation costs really helped. As did the half fare card! ☺️

Yes you do have to be smart with the money to visit. Costs can escalate very quickly. That is why we self catered. 😊 It helped a bit! 😂

Went in December 2018 and I really want to go back. Probably my favorite trip ever so far.

Switzerland 🇨🇭 is the most beautiful country on earth.
In the late 80s i was able to have holidays in Switzerland as my aunty tricia lived over there. My visit to Zermatt was from Vevey to Zermatt in the back of a VW golf soft top after a hefty night drinking. On arrival my aunt met up with Tony Ashton....he of Resurrection shuffle fame....they had lunch whilst myself and my then partner headed off up in the cable car/gondola to the snowy heights. All i can say is, that snow and sunshine after a nights drinking and a gal can get the mother of all migranes. 😅
Love this! My husband skiied in Zermatt many years ago when he was in his 20s. He'll be so happy to see this. You do the BEST travel videos of anyone on utube.

Best way to feature a country
Beautiful video of my favorite town in Switzerland! We just visited in August. When you go back, do go up to the top of the Gornergrat again and see the museum which has so many artifacts and facts about the Matterhorn including the story of Richard Andenmatten who ascended the Matterhorn more than 800 times!! Also, even though restaurants are expensive, be sure and have Chateau Briand at Max Julen’s restaurant, right down the street from the large church and on the river. It is world famous. Max was the 1984 Olympic gold medal winner in the giant slalom and he and his family run the hotel and restaurant. We found their hospitality and accommodations excellent! Thank you again for all your videos and advice. When I go back, I will go on some hikes!

Been a long time since I was able to enjoy some time in Zermatt. Doesn't look as if it's got any less beautiful in the interim! The Swiss trains and other public transport make sightseeing easy and glorious, if a bit expensive! 😉😊
A pity about the top-level cloud screening the Panorama at times. In clear weather you'd think you've died and gone to heaven! Lucky to hit it for all but a single day on my 2 visits all those years ago. Hiked up to the refuge hut to get close views of the Matterhorn from the moraine on the far side of the Matterglacier then walked back down via the hydro dam. Easy enough when you are young and fit - a bit tougher to repeat when you've got a few more years under your belt. 🙄😂
😂 the cloud seemed to bubble up in the afternoons, but really we were just happy it was dry and warm!

Sorry for falling behind! This was just incredible! You are very brave to cross that suspension bridge...my knees would have been quaking the whole time. I do hope your difficult family situation has improved. I so appreciate your videos, which have helped me through some rough times of my own. Hi Simon and Will. Zermatt looks like an absolutely stunning place to visit. The hike to the suspension bridge and surrounding countryside views look amazing. I may have said this before, but the first time I saw the mountains (Canadian prairie girl here) in Jasper Alberta, I felt like I was standing next to God himself. Indescribable beauty. I can’t imagine being amidst 29 mountain peaks. It’s a powerful thing. Another great informative video. Thank you. I know you’ve been going through a rough time. Hoping things get better. We were in both, it was a busy month. It was the last few days of May for Switzerland.
Yes you are right we have got out of the habit of recording bits with us in. I was thinking that the other day. Will take a while to correct that mind you as we have at least 10 videos in the vault waiting to be edited and I think for most of them we didn’t film ourselves. 🫤doh!
Different folks - different strokes, I guess. But that's 1 view that I personally do not support! Except for those circumstances where it is important to see the interactions with locals or the other holiday makers' reactions, the camera's view should not be blocked. Those narcissistic yammering fools who purport to be making a video showing us the glories of nature but spend 2/3 of the time with themselves blocking out the view and sound of same leave me cold.
Whether of some wild and scenic natural masterpiece or a quaint English historical village, my view of these videos by Will, Simon et al is that they are very professionally done. All the useful and necessary travel and historical information is always included in a manner that allows the viewer to picture themselves in the location - and to make plans to go there themselves sometime in their lives if at all possible.
For those who just have to have screaming noise, pyrotechnic video and elbow-jostling selfies - take your iPhones to a Kiss concert! 🙄🧐
