What I like most about this movie is the editing (screen play?). Every scene has the right pause. Two impeccable scenes are - Ash proposing to Mammootty, and Tabu spurning Ajith. Both men go down the stairs to process their feelings, while the women are taking a moment to themselves. Indian movies generally rush the pair into each other's arms and break into a stupid song. Here there's no mad dash to bring them together, no mumbling incoherently, no standing frozen in the same spot. That's why both scenes are memorable. Especially the silent exchange between Ajith and Tabu at the end.

Thanks for uploading this film in HD quality. if this was not available for free on TH-cam, I would have never watched this film and would have missed such an easily one of the greatest films of 2000s. Women oriented dramas generally get a less enthusiastic response from the crowds but this one is a gem. I myself would have to literally drag my feet to watch a women-centric film so I won't blame the masses. This one sets itself apart. It is not boring. Every moment of the film is enjoyable. The characters grow on you. Aishwarya Rai's character of the 'young girl' in the family is so adorable. She reminded me of my uncle's daughter (my sister) who is equally chirpy and makes home that much brighter. Tabu's character is very relatable too. When she says 'yes' and is completely embarrassed after realizing that the dude just came for cable. Ajit's character is so nice to actually fall in love with her after feeling her vulnerability. I love all the characters. They felt like own family. Thank you so much.
i have watched this movie at least a 100 times... watched the tamil version, now i am absolutely loving the telugu version as well, it's helping me to pick up some basic telugu... loving the language very much!
This movie has more to offer than a regular romantic drama or a feel good romantic flick intended to mint money by flaunting some of the happening actors of the time. At a time when all women where stereotyped that all they were expected to do was to get married asap, this movie was a real motivator, women-empowering and coming of age. The way the two girls fight the odds to make a living and stand up for themselves is just inspirational and was narrated so well. Of course the charm of Ajith, cuteness of Abbas and screen presence of Mammootty gave it a great masculine touch and kept the love blooming. Not to mention the music that touches your heart, melts it and drains it through your eyes. The fact that the movie holds a lot for the days to come as it is still relevant 20+ years after its release makes one wonder what must have taken the team to bring out an out of the box output that is futuristic yet relevant and passes the message to all people of all walks of life

This movie has more to offer than a regular romantic drama or a feel good romantic flick intended to mint money by flaunting some of the happening actors of the time. At a time when all women where stereotyped that all they were expected to do was to get married asap, this movie was a real motivator, women-empowering and coming of age. The way the two girls fight the odds to make a living and stand up for themselves is just inspirational and was narrated so well. Of course the charm of Ajith, cuteness of Abbas and screen presence of Mammootty gave it a great masculine touch and kept the love blooming. Not to mention the music that touches your heart, melts it and drains it through your eyes. The fact that the movie holds a lot for the days to come as it is still relevant 20+ years after its release makes one wonder what must have taken the team to bring out an out of the box output that is futuristic yet relevant and passes the message to all people of all walks of life
