Synopsis :
Sowmya (Tabu), Meenakshi (Aishwarya Rai) and Kamala (Shamili) are her three daughters with contrasting personalities. Sowmya (Tabu) is a practical, down to earth girl but is still not immune to disappointments. She doesn't expect much from her life. She believes and accepts things that come her way. Major Bala (Mammootty) is a army officer who loses his leg in a terrorist attack. He develops liking for Meenakshi (Aishwarya). Manohar (Ajith) first movie clicks bigtime. Will he come back to hold Sowmya's hand or leaves her to her ill fate? Will Abbas (Srikanth)and Meenakshi (Aishwarya) get together again? What is the fate of Mammotty? Rajiv Menon sensitively portrays the vicissitudes in the sisters lives and gives an emotional and touching ending to the film.

I became a huge admirer of Tabu because of her exceptional performance in this movie, unlike in our Telugu movies that show her mostly in glamorous roles.
This is one of the rarest movies I really love, which appear to me as an onscreen poetry. I somehow missed watching it in my childhood and watched it for the first time in Tamil in 2017, and ever since, I watched it multiple times. This movie is a package of not just love stories but also human values, human relationships, human dignity, and there are few scenes that touched my heart, like @ 2:23:55 (I love dialogues in the Tamil original though I'm a Telugu) and @ 2:30:56 (no meaning for my victory, if you're not by my side👌)
No words about music. Everyone loves Shankar Mahadevan's National Award-winning "Enna seyya pogirai" but I am always awestruck with how Chitramma just played with "Kannamuchi yenada" song.
