Definitely my favorite song by seven Mary three, such an emotional masterpiece this Song is. It reminds me of good times and bad times. They sound so good live too!!
So many songs and artist that were real and stood the test of time. I listen to all those songs and they take me back to a great place and great friends.
The line , there’s not enough years underneath the belt , makes me reflect on when your in the A.A. program and as a newcomer they tell you to listen more and speak less till the program sinks in. This song makes me reach deep
That’s good wisdom to hold on to brother, let it help you search deep within yourself and find strength you need to overcome, you can do it!! God bless you!!
I know a few other songs overshadowed this off of that album - and with Cumbersome, I get it - but I think the studio version of this songs is one of those moments when everything comes together and the musical gods say, here is a perfect song.
Still a favorite. When I start pulling more and more together with my life, I am finding that the 45-60 year old generation is feeling the same. It is not depression, it is hope. That ultimately we will find change, and the apathy of our youth has changed. I've got enough years now, and I've heard enough for long enough that I understand.
Jason Ross was never a “rock star” but he’s a voice from my formative years and still 25 years later his voice, vocals and lyrics still blow me away.. completely underrated.. Thank You Jason and 7M3
I know I've listened to this song 500x in a few days... every time I open up youtube - this is my go to song. Beautiful song, beautiful voice... Le sigh!
Ashley Spratt, another great 7M3 song.. You were my first mistake And even if that's true I would take that punch again If it would bring me back I thought I changed for you It turns out just not enough Distance and telephones I'm no good at being alone The last sigh is the last word spoken Everything else, bent and broken I will still be there for you The twilight of a love I cheated Forget everything that I thought I needed But I still remember this... I shut my doors to you But you still got through to me Did you give up everything Just to find there was nothing left We seem to disappear The closer that we got Did I do the vanishing Or did you just swallow me up The last sigh is last word spoken Everything else is bent and broken But I'll still be there for you The twilight of a love I cheated Forget everything that I thought I needed I still remember this... Last kiss
After all these years, Jason Ross and Seven Mary Three can still rock it with his vocals. And a wicked beard to boot, it's on the same level of awesomeness as Neil Fallon of Clutch.
I spent a couple of decades trying to find this song. I recorded it once on a cassette tape in the late 90s on a live radio show and eventually found it. ABSOLUTELY beautiful!
Such a great song to deal with pressure that encourages depression and substance abuse, that ruined all families, all relationships, it ruined everything.
+Joey McGee I'm almost certain that I was 14 when this came out as well. Back when MTV played a pre-recorded live performance of Rock Crown. I bought the CD that same week.
I miss 7M3. I came here to be reminded of how talented and amazing their music is. That bark in Jason Ross’s voice expresses so much emotion and gives me chills!
Found this on a nostalgia wave, remembering seeing them perform a festival set somewhere around this album dropping. They put on a great set, love this album. Thanks for posting and leaving this up.
In the 90s we had a lot of singers that are poorly imitated today from bands that started early to mid 2000's. What people don't get is that Eddie, Stapp, Ross, and Rosdale weren't trying to imitate or emulate any vocals that came before them. And, man, Ross's vocals are some of the most under rated of the 90s bands that still get radio pay to this day. Fucking awesome. Glad this live version is still out there.
Me and a Buddy of mine who still play grew up with Tommy and played guitar together in school functions a lot of times getting out of class to prepare .. I moved away and lost touch with Tom But seeing this brings me back to being a kid .. Tom always had a nice way with a guitar .. very Nice work boys..
sweet! Thanks for posting. Sure sucks getting older. In 97 I too never thought I would get this old. lol But at least we have songs like this to remind us of better days. ;)
My first show ever was y'all and jars of clay. I wasn't there to see them lol my brothers first show was the same one and I only found out after we adopted him. I was 10 and I'm 36 now. Happy day
My favorite song. The first song of 7M3 that I ever heard. Jason's voice is thee most astonishing hidden gem in music. The lyrics.... Well they just cut straight to your soul. Btw. There's still not enough years under this belt of 36 years.....
One of my all time favorite bands, some band members were always more welcoming after a show than others, and I get it.. Celebrated a few birthdays and Thanksgiving eves with you guys in cincy and loved each and every one😊❤ Miss ya Bunches
Definitely my favorite song by seven Mary three, such an emotional masterpiece this Song is. It reminds me of good times and bad times. They sound so good live too!!

So many great bands and great shows, best years of my life for sure….
I wish i wouldve been there for this show. Now at 39, I truly appreciate the good stuff like this.
Who the hell would thumbs down this song? Must be angry because today’s music can’t touch our 90s tunes. #7M3
More than likely some kid that listens to auto tuned pop singers is who thumb downed this.
The line , there’s not enough years underneath the belt , makes me reflect on when your in the A.A. program and as a newcomer they tell you to listen more and speak less till the program sinks in.
This song makes me reach deep

90s-00s best music to date. Seven Mary three was my first cassette tape stolen from my older brother, may he rest in peace.
A good steal. I hate to hear of your loss. It's amazing how we find solace in music, it's like a universal language.

I know a few other songs overshadowed this off of that album - and with Cumbersome, I get it - but I think the studio version of this songs is one of those moments when everything comes together and the musical gods say, here is a perfect song.
Jeessussss didn't realize how much of a badass their lead singer is..almost sounds better live than on cd...don't say that to often
badtama07 saw them in 2008 . It was an amazing experience. One of my favorite shows ever.
Better live
Jason Ross is the man. When he gets into it with the vocal fry and growl it’s awesome!

+Scooty B very true This Song Gets Me Somewhere Deep Am 19 Years Old
+little mercy it's just that kind of song. You are still young. Don't waste your 20s being upset or worrying. Use your youth to make something happen.
Well said..

Ashley Spratt, another great 7M3 song..
You were my first mistake
And even if that's true
I would take that punch again
If it would bring me back
I thought I changed for you
It turns out just not enough
Distance and telephones

The last sigh is the last word spoken
Everything else, bent and broken
I will still be there for you
The twilight of a love I cheated
Forget everything that I thought I needed
But I still remember this...
I shut my doors to you
But you still got through to me
Did you give up everything
Just to find there was nothing left
We seem to disappear
The closer that we got
Did I do the vanishing
Or did you just swallow me up
The last sigh is last word spoken
Everything else is bent and broken
But I'll still be there for you
The twilight of a love I cheated
Forget everything that I thought I needed
I still remember this...

I can't stop playing this acoustic set right here, such an amazing song!
I could listen to this all day.

Golly man that key change is gorgeous

You’ve found the words I was lacking to describe how special this is... thank you ✌️
This version brings tears to my eyes. So much passion, soul and feelings projected throughout.
It certainly makes you reflect!

Thank you gentlemen. Amongst all the noise you remind us of all that is good and pure about music.
Excellent!! Nothing better than voice and guitar, the heart of the song.
I could not agree more. I hadn't thought about these guys in years but always loved their music. I think it is time to get antiquated.
