I'm loving all of your videos man! I added you a while back on Facebook after another friend from a Camaro page shared your video. Glad to see that the car is getting a little famous! lol. It screams like its supposed to. I own a 91RS and I am planning on doing an engine swap over the winter here in Michigan. I cant wait to see more of your videos. Take care!
thanks! if you click on my account you can see there are more videos. This video is from 2013, and there is an outside version as well, though it's not really near as awesome looking as it may sound (it spun the tires hard on this pass). however the more recent vids show some pretty excellent wheelie action!
Sick video man, that is so bad ass. I just barely finished swapping a t56 into my camaro this week, just gotta figure out a distributor issue before I take it out. But this videos really making me anxious for it haha.
it's the best thing i could have ever done, even though the th400 was a bit more consistent and *slightly* faster. I can't wait to get the new suspension dialed in to control some of this wheel spin. i just swapped to a tubular kmember/a-arms/coilover setup and got some new double adjustable rear shocks. Watch for big improvements from this car in 2014!
That was amazing! I thoroughly enjoyed that! I need to take my truck to the track and see what she runs now with the 6.0/6 speed before I go twin turbo on her.
I gotta know where did you get that dash console, the whole thing. I like your gauge setup. But that dash console doesn't come with that model camaro. I loved the look of those camaros back in the day but hated the interior.
Hurst pro billet in this setup. it was a basic 370" ls. PRC stage 2.5 ls6 heads, 750 carb, super vic, custom hyd cam. had a forged bottom end with 11.2:1 static compression. was a super fun combo. ultimately my best from this combo was a 9.97 @ 136.
@@MattWalter1 Thanks for the response. I have a LS2, blower cam, Magnusson SC, stock motor and heads besides the stronger springs and cam. T56 has a Diamond Stage 2 clutch (from their website: Stage 2 - Dual friction. This is a "middle of the road" street/strip clutch design. The disc is comprised of both heavy duty organic and ceramic/metallic friction materials. Perfect clutch for any daily driver that sees the track on a regular basis. Rated at 600HP). GM 12 bolt rearend with posi. My car dyno'd at 605 to the rear wheels. Your opinion on if I could dump the clutch at 6000 RPM and how would my setup handle it? I'm not a track guy...I just drive my car on the street and have fun with it. So, sorry for the newb question.
@@Steve_the_Finn it'll either blow the tires off, or it'll break parts :) it may survive a few of those types of launches, but it's going to find the weak link.
@@MattWalter1 Good point. That's actually what happens now. I have Nitto 555's, 275 wide and they just can't grab. I was thinking about going with some MT's just to get a little bit more grip. But I don't think I'll ever hook up enough to break anything to be honest.
Hi Matt, nice videos, I was going to swap into my car a TR6060 Corvette Transaxle, I have been told there is a high RPM changing problem, the max I would need to change at is 8,000 generally though it would be 7,500. I would love to here your real world experience. I can run a flat shift (gear cut) program through me programmable ECU. Thanks in advance.
this combo was really basic. pistons/rods 6.0 with some prc stage 2.5 ls6 heads. trunion upgrade, ls7 lifters, a healthy hydraulic roller cam, super victor and a 750 carb.
Love the stereo head unit. Must sound really good
No
YESSSS finally. Just saw donut media’s video about how the manual transmission is fading out. Needed to see a hard pull to take that off my mind.
The most badass launch ever!
The amount of times I’ve watched this is probably unhealthy.. So awesome. Can’t wait to finish my s/c 6.0 LQ9 with a T56 magnum in my squarebody 🤘🏼
Hell yeah brother just finished my lq4 mag t56 build 🤟
1:40 the mustang was like "oops, sorry, no you go ahead"
you were driving the shit out of that thing! hell yeah brother
I love how the other car launches and tries to escape, but this dude just drops the clutch at 7 o clock and passes him brutally
Most exciting 10.8 pass ever 😂

Yeah that exactly I was talking about I was looking all over for it lol thx man. Sick car.
That's what I needed to see... now I can get off TH-cam for a while!

Nice launch man, sounds great!!!
daaannngggggg!! that car sounds just wicked

Sick ass driving
Good Job Matt!! I'm taking notes...
Thanks Mark! just trying to be like you sir :)
Matt Walter Ha! Sub'd man. I'm along for the ride.
Totally badass
very nice great job shifting
This is my car 2 a T cant wait till its done just installed the transzilla t56
Nice launch but wouldnt u be better heating tyres in 3rd for more grip
Oh that sweet sound
The green button is a line lock. That 305 is pretty gnarly, lol.
Isn't it just the transbrake?
OnyxStudios720p no, it's a stick shift car, no transbrake on this car. the green button is the linelock/2step.
Garrett Kifer it's not a 305... It's a 6.0 lsx
@@devinherriot94 whooooooosh

Ride on my bro
Hell Yes! A modern day grumpy jenkins!
That's a damn launch!!! Get some
wicked sounding camaro man!!!!! what are the switches where the radio was??? i cant tell haha
I gotta watch this again.
that burnout is enough, wow.
Damn that thing sounds good
thats sick as hell!!!!!!!!
Good fucking lord that sounded good
Badass video
Is that a Muncie or borg warner t56 t10 that thing is crazy
I believe this started as a Borg Warner T56. In this video, the trans had a Tick Performance stage 2 rebuild in it.
love the dash whats it from
looks like a 98-02 firebird/transam dash
nice driving!
Speedmullet. I like it. 😃
What's the green button do? Also, that 305 is pretty gnarly these days.
green button is linelock, and supposed to activate 2 step, but as you can see in the video, it only held the linelock, lol!
dude.....badass!!
Bad ass video

What Cam? Couldn't find if it's posted
It was a custom Martin Smallwood grind
@@MattWalter1 🤙 Rite on... sounds like a straight *BEAST* bro .... I'm building an iron 6.0 at the moment, looking for ideas 😎
badass ...what was the mph and 60
Brutal. 🤘
Awesome car man I love it. Is that a 4th gen T/A dash? Looks good in there
Where did you get that dash from?
Merica !!!
De stroked 6.0 or stock crank?
This was every single one of us trying to be that "one sperm"
wow awesome
What gears you running 4.10 ?
Gears for an n/a car are a tuning aid, so I have a bunch of different ratios. But yeah I think for this combo it was a 4.10.
Was the clutch going away? I watched the other video where someone was videoing at the start line. Sounded like the clutch was going.
no, it blew the tires off
+Matt Walter LOL I was thinking that too, because those tires are kind of small.
+TargaWheels Check out my newer videos, I put bigger tires on it :)
I wasn't in the passenger seat...but I still need to change my shorts.
Badass man
Damn its been 3 years since I made a comment on this vid 😂
I need me a t56

whats done to engine
What is in this for it to turn that high rpm I have to know
this combo was really basic. pistons/rods 6.0 with some prc stage 2.5 ls6 heads. trunion upgrade, ls7 lifters, a healthy hydraulic roller cam, super victor and a 750 carb.
I absolutely love the sound
You used a stock crank or a 4.8
@@ryanpitt4633 stock 6.0 crank
@@MattWalter1 I've been considering destroking my 6.0 but this sounds pretty stout for the 6.0 crank
What stearing colum did you use??
Joshua Luke factory
Matt Walter how hard was it to put that dash did you have to do anything special
Joshua Luke giant pain and never fit right. I put a 3rd gen dash back in it a couple years ago
Matt Walter ok i was just getting some ideas car sounds great by the way
what cam shaft are you running that makes power that high?
custom Martin Smallwood grind
DAYM!!!
wow!
I LOVE IT I LOVE IT
Where did u get the gauge panel from? I need that for ls swap
i made it from sheet aluminum (i'm assuming you're referring to the gauge panel in the dash).
How did you do your clutch set up?
does your car have mech linkage or a hydraulic setup?
I'm betting hydraulic
what's your bottom end and cam setup on this thing?
Zan Stuart this build was a stock crank, eagle rods, and diamond pistons. Cam was custom from Martin Smallwood.
What size slicks you running
in this vid, i was running a 26x10.0 m/t stiffwall, no tubes.
Wow!!!
did you launch in second gear?
lol ur smoked
He did a burnout in 2nd gear, if that's what you mean
why you say that
What steering column
Stock 1990 column in this video
It only let me give it 1 thumbs up.
God damn 💪🏻🇺🇸
Why did this guy launch on second gear ?,
hen r i didn't
What transmission used?
Christian D Ponce t56
Matt Walter stock t56 ?
Christian D Ponce it was a stage 2 build.
Matt Walter u recommended me for my sierra / t56 o tr6060
tr6060 would be better compared to the old t56's, t56 magnum is generally better than the tr6060 but have very similar internals.
Holly shit that looked violent hahahaha
God damn this car is the shit! I want my chevelle to run like that
Why you changed the name
Name of what?
p;ease share details on engine?
Trap speed?
this pass was probably 127+.
forza looking hella realistic
Shifting like nothing hhhhh awesome
Damn, poor rear end. 'Ive never seen a push rod V8 launch that high.
+Chris Calderin been under a rock for a while?
Chris Calderin they do it all the time they have 7k stalls for autos lol people been.launching off red line lol
For an m6? Gotta be a 9 inch rear. My 10 bolt blew apart on a mid rpm launch with a monster clutch cam only ls1
3rd Gen Camaro with 4th Gen TransAm interior hahah, that thing rips all sorts of ass.
